ELECTION SHOCKER: REPUBLICAN COLIN POWELL ENDORSES DEMOCRAT BARACK OBAMA

Of course, if you find yourself voting in two straight elections for a Marxist statist out to “fundamentally transform” your country — and who has begun that process by increasing the size and scope of government, of welfare, of the debt and deficit, and the number of unemployed Americans — maybe it’s time to just do away with the fiction that you’re a Republican in the first place.

But then, I guess there are a lot of black Democrats to call on to do the talk shows.  Seems to me somebody doesn’t want to surrender his niche as a go-to black Republican centrist — even though he’s long ago surrendered his principles, or at the very least, completely recalibrated them, stumping for a President who has violated the Constitution repeatedly and who speaks about his insistence on doing so should he be re-elected, at the expense of the separation of powers.  Also, massive tax hikes.  Because really, what says “principled Republican” more than backing a class warfare campaign that divides the country into Marxist classes and ends with the simultaneous gutting of our military and tax increases on nearly every segment of the population?

The funny thing is, Republicans long ago sent Colin Powell on his way.  It’s only Democrats — who have agreed to honor Powell’s fiction that he’s a thoughtful, moderate Republican, just so long as he keeps pretending to be one when they call on him — who keep dragging him out everytime they need a black “Republican” to agree with some new line of progressive trajectory.

So. I’ll say it, because no one else will:  like John McCain, I thank you for your service, General Powell.  But now, like John McCain, please kindly fuck off.  You sicken me to my very core.

  1. William says:

But the economy’s starting to pick up because the NYT says it is, and Obama’s really great at ignoring acts of war so we haven’t entered into any new ones!

  2. Ernst Schreiber says:

Wasn’t Powell The Guy (or at least one of the guys) who let the Iraqi Army escape from Kuwait —and thus stuck the world with the Saddam Hussein regime for another decade, compelling us to finish what we started in ’91— because the smoking wreckage on “the highway of death” was making us look like bullies on CNN?

  3. Ernst Schreiber says:

Terrorism died with Bin Laden, William. Whom Obama killed personally –in a manner of speaking.

Who ya gonna believe, the unprecedented(!) President of the United States, or the charred ass-raped corpse of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya?

  4. Drumwaster says:

I have no idea why we let the Iraqi army escape, when classic tactics would have been to bypass Kuwait and head straight for Baghdad, then wait for the Iraqi army to stack arms.

The Iraqis were surrendering to CNN helicopters fercrissake!

  5. psudrozz says:

    link forthcoming.

  6. happyfeet says:

When people like the John McCain or the Colin Powell use the military as a springboard to make whimsical and cowardly cunt muppets of themselves you don’t have to be thankful for their service I don’t think. You can just put them in the Wesley Clark column and call it a day.

  7. sdferr says:

What’s perhaps more telling is that Republicans were enamored of Powell in the first place. I can’t help but believe that people who came to know him closely through the work-place knew well already what a dim-witted weasel he is, yet those Republicans at any distance from him could fool themselves. Could be something like that going on with Petraeus too (fooling themselves, that is, not the dim-witted part), I can’t help but note.

  8. sdferr says:

    “. . . why we let the Iraqi army escape . . .”

It warn’t the two-headed realpolitik beast, ScowBushCroft? I’d thought sure they fixed that ticket.

  9. BigBangHunter says:

    – The tactical wisdom of the time, not the military mind you, the think tankers in DC, was to leave Saddam just enough strength to continue the stalemate with Iran, but not enough to war on any neigbors.

    – Bush43 decided that approach was better for his reelection chances and we know how that worked out.

    – Though the current WH gang has refused to talk about it for 4 years, the entire ME conflict contiues to this day to be between the Sunni’s and the Shites’. They just won’t utter the words. Libya, Egypt, and Suria, same thing.

  10. leigh says:

This is true. He is an Affirmative Action General.

  11. palaeomerus says:

“Obama campaign — Young female voters should lose voting virginity with Barack”

If you are a young female voter you should save your voting virginity until you learn not to be a naive poser idiot. or an old one. That for male voters too. And people of all races. Stop voting for lying shitheads.

  12. daveinsocal says:

OT, but inquiring minds want to know when Darleen is going to give us the cover of Obama’s new 20 page glossy masterwork (AKA “Obama’s Big Pamphlet of Bullet Points For How To To Fix Things Going FORWARD“).

    For the children.

  13. Sears Poncho says:

Let us also remember that Colin Powell was aware that his Deputy SoS, Richard Armitage, was the person who leaked Valerie Plame’s name. That’s right, he stood by, allowing Patrick Fitzgerald to railroad Scooter Libby.

    Because, honorable!!

  14. Ernst Schreiber says:

If the female voters are that desperate to give it away, they should at least be made aware that they are in for one hell of a fucking over.

  15. newrouter says:

    Suria, same thing.

    that be alawites me thinks

  16. palaeomerus says:

Obama : Gimme four more years bitch. Uh uh uh uh uh uhhhhhh. Yeah. Mmmf. I’m gonna take a little nap now. It’d be real nice if there was a sandwich here on the night stand when I wake up. Zzzzzzzzz.

First time woman voter : I….I think when someone says “Ow! You’re on my hair!” you should roll off of their hair and say that you are sorry.

    Obama: Zzzzzzz…use that fancy bread…zzzzzz…by the toaster….szzzzzzzzzznnerrrk.

  17. BigBangHunter says:

    – True, but the Assad gov, is Sunni led and the rebels are largly Shite sects.

  18. newrouter says:

it is good to have an update to the “The Life of Julia

  19. Libby says:

Is a Colin Powell endorsement worth much these days? Haven’t heard his name in years.
Also, Obama should watch his back – wasn’t Powell the primary unnamed source for a couple of Woodward books on both Bush 41 & 43?

  20. newrouter says:

Assad gov, is Sunni led and the rebels are largly Shite sects.

i don’t think that is right. old assad massacred the muslim bros in hama . muslim bros are the arab spring

  21. BigBangHunter says:

    – In my comment above that should have been Bush41 thought it would etc….

  22. happyfeet says:

Colin Powell has created even fewer jobs than food stamp. He got his doofus son a gig at the fcc.

    That’s pretty much it.

  23. leigh says:

Colin Powell’s biggest talent is that he’s a bullshitter. He can talk to you for thirty minutes about anything and say nothing.

    Not unlike the Wonce.

  24. sdferr says:

“Assad gov, is Sunni led and the rebels are largly Shite sects.”

Moreover, Assad’s Iranian allies and Hezbollah allies are both Shia groups, the Kurds in far northeast Syria are Sunni by confession, the Alawis don’t really fit religiously anywhere, and the Christians are ground to dust between the lot of the various muslimish adherents. It’s a murky-bloody f’in picture in Syria — kinda almost Hobbesian when we get right down to it: every man for himself and God against all.

  25. charles w says:

He is an Affirmative Action General. That is correct leigh. He has had his ticket punched from day one.
He did get wounded in Nam, but after that he became a staff officer. He is the ultimate political General.

  26. Blake says:

Jeff, I have to differ just a bit when it comes to Senator McCain.

McCain did pick Sarah Palin and took Norah O’Donnell to the woodshed over the Libya fiasco.

Powell probably knows what Petit Fours are and can deftly handle the salad fork with the best of them, providing, of course, the salad fork is actual silver. Powell probably has the brandy snifter swirl down pat, too.

    YMMV

  27. BigBangHunter says:

    – nr, the Sunnis, unlike the Shites, have been known to war on each other with many examples since there are sub-sects of Sunnis with differing agendas and power goals at any given moment.

    – Some scholars believe the whole Al Qaeda/Iran etc movement and Osama’s strategy was to draw America back into the ME and break the steady increase of Shite’ influence.

    – When Bush41 ended things after Desert storm, and Clinton didn’t react to the first WTC bombing, and GWB showed no signs of ME unterference, we got 9/11. They tried to suck Russia in in with Chechnya, but no go. After 15 years of disaster in Afghanistan the Russians weren’t going anywhere outside the country.

    – BTW, our friendly freinds in the UN are trying to get boycotts against Israeli businesses now for their latest trick. Another direct result of Obama’s actions/weakness encouraging our enemies.

  28. beemoe says:

Between this and those Obama endorsements this week from Honey Boo Boo and Axl Rose… damn… I mean Mittens must be on suicide watch.

  29. newrouter says:

bbh – i was thinking that the “arab spring™” was a muslim bros production aimed at taking out secular arab gov’t: tunisia, libya, egypt possible syria

  30. BigBangHunter says:

    – We’ll never know beemoe. Boo boo fell asleep in her Obama Fuck yeh TV interview.

  31. sdferr says:

The chinless slavishly conventional marshmallow-puff of a young woman touting Obama? Mighty softeewhite role model, ain’t she?: brainless and proud of it.

  32. Ernst Schreiber says:

it is good to have an update to the “The Life of Julia

    Lemme guess:

Julia’s promising young life was cut tragically short when she died after a botched back-alley abortion. Thus Julia wasn’t there to lead the fight to save Big Bird. All because not enough people cared to keep that wymyn-hating, free-birth-control-denying, abortion-outlawing CHRISTIANIST out of office.

And that’s why Barack Obama really needs my $3 or $5 dollars. Not because Obama needs a second term, but because Julia needs her free rubbers (and in case that doesn’t work, a safe low-cost abortion).

    And to save Big Bird.

  33. BigBangHunter says:

    – The stonewalling and “baffle them with bullshit” continues.

  34. BigBangHunter says:

    – Biden has bigger problems. One of his ex-chiefs of staff has published a tell-all book.

  35. Dennis D says:

I met a man, Bojangles, and he danced for you. In worn out shoes. Mr. Bojangles…Dance.

  36. leigh says:

My God, nr. Just when I think the man couldn’t possibly be any stupider. And this is a man who buried his own wife and child.

    I am disgusted.

  37. leigh says:

“I have been asked by one of our spokespeople to relay ‘that we decline to comment,’” said White House National Security Staff aide Debbie Bird in a written response to CNSNews.com.

    Straight from Big Bird’s mouth!

  38. newrouter says:

Biden was upbraided by Obama for his dopey “This president is going to be tested early in his administration, mark my words” line.

Biden later said: “I’m going to have to earn his trust, but I’m not going to grovel to this guy. My manhood is not negotiable.”

The book depicts him not as a truly friendly, warm-hearted guy, but, if you can believe this, a cold pol who’s only interested in personal advancement and shaking the right hands.

  39. serr8d says:

McCain actually came out swinging at Powell earlier today, said he had ‘harmed his legacy‘ by endorsing BHO. McCain never even noticed the irony slapping at his silly confuzzled head, I’m guessing.

  40. palaeomerus says:

“McCain actually came out swinging at Powell earlier today, said he had ‘harmed his legacy‘ by endorsing BHO.”

Twice. After four years of horror and shame, Powell actually publicly endorsed him again. So, Powell is apparently an ignorant poser chump who cannot learn.

  41. Pablo says:

I also heard Maverick saying Powell ought to stop calling himself a Republican. “We Republicans tend to support Republicans.”

  42. @PurpAv says:

All that past talk about Powell being a guy who could have had the presidency in a romp for the asking has kinda died down lately… By the time he kicks, it won’t even be a distant memory anymore.

  43. wally says:

That Negro needed to get back on the liberal plantation.

That Biden comment to the SEAL’s pops was too bizarre for words. Plugs is certifiably insane.

  44. palaeomerus says:

“My God, nr. Just when I think the man couldn’t possibly be any stupider. And this is a man who buried his own wife and child.
    I am disgusted.”

I’m sure he though he was being complementary in an edgy overly familiar way, but yeah, that is some bad sub-adult judgement on display there. I hope it was liquor, awkwardness, and fatigue talking, and not some kind of dementia.

  45. leigh says:

The husband thinks Biden is nuts. For reals.
