“Guilford Co. voters say ballot cast for Romney came up Obama on machine”

Relax, people. It’s only a glitch. Happens all the time.  Nothing to get your old lady, rich, white, racist, voting-for-the-wrong-candidate panties in a bunch over, you mewling wingnut whore.

The presidential election is just around the corner and voting issues have already become a problem in Guilford County.

On Monday, several voters complained that their electronic ballot machine cast the wrong vote.  All the complaints were made by people who voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location.

One of the voters, Sher Coromalis, says she cast her ballot for Governor Mitt Romney, but every time she entered her vote the machine defaulted to President Obama.

“I was so upset that this could happen,” said Coromalis.

Guilford County Board of Elections Director George Gilbert says the problem arises every election. It can be resolved after the machine is re-calibrated by poll workers.

“It’s not a conspiracy it’s just a machine that needs to be corrected,” Gilbert said.

After the third try, Coromalis says she was able to get her vote counted for Gov. Romney but was still annoyed.

“I should have just mailed it in,” Coromalis said.

Marie Haydock, who also voted at the Bur-Mil Park polling location, had the same problem.

“The frustration is… every vote counts,” said Haydock.

Elections officials say the machines have been fixed as of Tuesday, and no problems have been reported since.

Imagine!  No more problems reported since the local news ran a story on it.  I mean, what are the odds?

Why are you talking about this? Richard Mourdock said something about teh rape babies ZOMG!!!!!

  2. geoffb says:

I find it interesting that the machines can be calibrated to falsify the tally. That would be the meaning of the statement that they have to be re-calibrated to fix the error every election.

    That’s a happy thought geoff.

    *cough* bullshit *cough*

I’ve been in the computer biz 30+ years. This kind of thing doesn’t happen unless it supposed to.

I thought rigged voting machines were only in Pennsylvania? Of course the technology of those old voting machines was like a Pachinko machine.

Reminds me of what my brother told me when I got my first PC. He said they have a frustrating habit of doing what you tell them to.

  7. Pellegri says:

Yeah I was kind of wondering why the failure mode is set to default to “vote for sitting president” rather than “register an error” or “null vote”.

  8. BigBangHunter says:

    – The answer to that, and all such questions about Progressive voting tactics is simply “they’ll do anything they can to drag Douchbag across the finish line.”

  9. McGehee says:

It’s obvious the Moran family originated in Boston and moved south because they’d convinced themselves the reason everyone was calling them “the morons” was because of the broad A in the local accent.

    Turns out, maybe not.

    – The NYT calvery rides to the rescue:

    “Its all Bill Clintons fault!”

    – Although things look pretty good at this point, I don’t know whats going to happen on Nov 6th, my crystal ball being in the shop for repairs and all, but its usually a good sign when the whore media starts the whime and excuses prolog in ernest.

    – With Benghazi hanging out there day after day like a large wet fart in a crowded elevator. Bummblefuck isn’t looking so glam these days.

I didn’t have any problems with the machine in Austin except I had to choose between libertarians democrats for my state rep seats because of the new districts. All the county judges were democrats. I did not vote for them. And frankly I hate country court systems anyway since if you get stopped by a sheriff’s dept. car for a traffic violation, you have to hunt for the proper country courtroom in dank old off road strip malls instead of go to the local police station to pay your fine in person.

I voted against all of the muni-bond packages and proposed charter changes. (Sorry Austin, we have at large representation and have refused being divided into burrows with local reps MANY MANY TIMES. Asking again every damned election is obnoxious and european.)

I thought it was funny that the lady kept telling me that is was not a touch screen and that I needed to use the dial to select things and the enter button to lock in my selection and prev and next to changes pages.

I also thought it was funny that there were ‘I voted Early’ Stickers and the old ‘ I voted’ stickers for the people who don’t like the newer ‘I voted Early’ stickers.

After I voted I bought two chicken legs, some coffee, and a little toblerone bar.

And it turns out that I still don’t like toblerone very much.

I should have bought a peach or cherry turnover instead.

    Question for the constitutional scholars:
Does POTUS have the power to pardon a class of people like illegal immigrants who entered the country illegally prior to the date of the pardon?

I know Jimmah did something with the draft dodgers but i don’t know the specific actions he took to do so.

Is it some analog device chock full of rheostats?

WTF ever happened to digital technology?
