Obama’s Enemies List: First Frank VanderSloot, now Sheldon Adelson [Darleen Click]

This memorandum addresses the matter of how we can maximize the fact of our incumbency in dealing with persons known to be active in their opposition to our Administration; stated a bit more bluntly—how we can use the available federal machinery to screw our political enemies.

That quote is from John Dean on how Nixon’s constantly evolving Enemies list was going to be used.

While a subsequent investigation by Congress did not find that the IRS had been used against people on the list, it is clear that even the threat of using Federal agencies to harass private citizens due to political viewpoints is beyond the pale.

Obama is now going beyond merely having a list to actually acting on it. Frank VanderSloot was the first, with his private life the subject of investigation, and now subject to two federal audits.

Sheldon Adelson was subject to DCCC smears so egregious that when Adelson threatened to sue, the DCCC had no choice but to retract and apologize. However, Obama doesn’t give up his Chicago thug ways easy. Now comes Eric Holder’s DOJ targeting Adelson’s company.

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is investigating whether Las Vegas Sands Corp., owned by high-profile Republican donor Sheldon Adelson, broke federal law by failing to report millions of dollars of potentially laundered money transferred to its casinos by two high-rolling Las Vegas gamblers, according to the Wall Street Journal.

I suspect Sean Connery’s Jim Malone might have responded, “If they drag your inner lives into the open, you drag their innards into the open!”

The Chicago Way may be infinitely escalatable.

  2. Blake says:

I’m holding my breath, waiting for Harry Reid to step in and tell the Obama administration to back off…….

  3. motionview says:

At 1600 Chicago Way, if you are not on the friend’s list, and not on the enemies list, they may screw you anyway, if expedient.

  4. OCBill says:

It bears repeating that although the Democrats via the DCCC accused Adelson of facilitating Chinese prostitution, a libelous claim they subsequently retracted, it was in fact the Democrats who actually did facilitate Chinese prostitution via a $2.6 million dollar Stimulus program to teach Chinese prostitutes how to drink more responsibly.

Sounds like it’s time to investigate as many members of Congress as possible.

Just the Dems, of course, else it isn’t fair.

  6. Crawford says:

OCBill — plus ACORN and Planned Parenthood facilitating underage prostitution in the US. And, apparently, Holder’s DoJ refusing to investigate cases of sex slavery in the US.

Does anyone think that’s all just coincidence?

Where’s Romney on this? This is great campaign fodder. He should be rolling “Chicago Way” ads…with Rahm worked in for good measure.
