Universities are Left-wing seminaries … [Darleen Click]

Just as the agenda of traditional Christian and Jewish seminaries is to produce religious Christians and religious Jews, the agenda of Western universities is to produce (left-wing) secularists. The difference is that Christian and Jewish seminaries are honest about their agenda, while the universities still claim they have neither secularist nor political agenda. ~~ Dennis Prager

Ever the rising tuitions, ever the increasing of useless degrees, from anti-Constitutional speech codes and violation of basic due process, anyone paying attention is well aware of the Left’s dominance in academia and the mendacious mockery it has made of “liberal education.”

In a campaign reminiscent of the Soviet show-trials of the late 1930’s, where the “enemies of the People” publicly confessed their “crimes” against the Soviet, The University of Minnesota – Duluth (UMD) is actually sponsoring a campaign, declaring “whites” the enemy of the people and showing these enemies confessing their crimes of “white privilege”

The self-titled Un-Fair Campaign, is sponsored and supported by the University of Minnesota – Duluth, along with several liberal organizations including the NAACP, YWCA, and The League of Woman Voters.

“You give me better jobs, better pay, better treatment, and a better chance – all because of the color of my skin,” reads one poster that features a close shot of a Caucasian male.

The Un-Fair campaign also held a series of lectures and events on campus last semester. One included a presentation by Tim Wise, author of “Dear White America”. In his book, Wise confesses a “longstanding fantasy” where he turns to a man with a “God Bless the USA” button and asks him, “why can’t you just get over it?”

These lectures were publicly endorsed by university Chancellor Lendley Black. Black sent a message to the campus community in April describing his effort to “create an inclusive campus climate for all” through providing “support and… leadership to the Un-Fair Campaign.”

The Soviet Union is dead just to be resurrected on American campuses.

Somewhere Uncle Joe and Walter Duranty are smiling.

  1. Ugh, I read about that on The Blaze earlier today. Just sickening. No one should *ever* have to apologize for who they are or where they’re from. And if I’m a beneficiary of “white privilege”, I’ll just be damned if I can see it. As for “anti-racist” bozos like Tim Wise (“anti-racism” really being code for “anti-middle class and working class white”, elitist whites like Wise being exempt), there is only one appropriate response, consisting of two words. The second word is “you”. I’ll leave you all to figure out what the first one is.

  2. Or alternatively, as Jeff said earlier today: “Fuck that, and fuck them. All.”

  3. He sucks. So does Charles Stross.

  4. Privileged to choose to become morons? Seems like an unusual thing to be grateful for.

  5. So, self-esteem is good, except if I’m melanin-challenged, in which case it’s bad?

How is this Tim Wise not pilloried for the racist he is?

  6. seminaries aren’t exactly staunch bastions of conservatism either

  7. Oops, I should have said “yesterday” rather than “earlier today” in my second comment. I’m still in the UK (and will be for the next week), so my timing is off.

  8. Wise confesses a “longstanding fantasy” where he turns to a woman with a “God Bless the USA” button and asks her, “why can’t you at least let me have my balls on weekends?”

  9. Racism. Publicly funded, officially approved.

  10. Gaia has punished them (and all of Duluth) with rains and floods of book-of-the-fake-sky-god proportions. So they can get back to enjoying their privilege now, cleansed as it were.

  11. Don’t be clownin on Tim Wickety-Wickety-Wack Wize.

Bro is half Scottish, half Jewish, from the South, but with a blaccent that puts Justin Timerlake to shame.

  12. seminaries aren’t exactly staunch bastions of conservatism either

    Disemble and deflect much?

    Fucking idiot tool

  13. Straight up racism. Fucking lizard brains.

  14. Don’t be clownin on Tim Wickety-Wickety-Wack Wize.

I so miss Breitbart smacking the shit out of him.

  15. Like so many of these problems, the solution is obvious and has already delivered to us from Hollywood.

I speak, of course, of 1983’s Trading Places. I propose that each of the crackers in this film have their privilege stripped from them unexpectedly, and that a black man or woman with a demonstrable history of suffering from lack of privilege be placed in their shoes.

I’ll bet Jeff the tidy sum of $1.00 that the outcomes on both ends of the swap would be hilarious.

  16. you really think seminaries have some magical immunity to the long march Mr. ernst?

I don’t. Especially being that they don’t attract your more rigorous thinkers in the first place.

  17. I so miss Breitbart smacking the shit out of him.

What I don’t get is how you can hear the man speak English and not conclude that he is fucking with you.

I mean, if I – being visibly bereft of melanin – went around talking with the affected Frito Bandito accent from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre all day, I would expect that anything that I said would not be taken seriously, and taken as an intended offense in any event.

  18. And the sterility in the face of semins.

  19. You’d fit right in then, seeing how your intellectual rigor is right up their with your philosophical staunch.

  20. I make very good footnotes really with very exact citations and the occasional humorous aside

  21. I don’t get that worked up over propaganda at colleges where no one will ever make any kind of mark in the world.. Their distinguished alumni are overwhelmingly NHL players, I mean, white males.

  22. “Especially being that they don’t attract your more rigorous thinkers in the first place.”

Yeah, stupid Godbags – if only they were bright enough to get a degree in social work, art, communications or political science and really contribute thoughts to the world.

  23. When I was taking Preparing Future Faculty everyone in the class had to read aloud two lines like this from a paper they handed out. The lines I was expected to read were fairly innocuous, but many of the ones people around me read were not. If I had gotten lines like theirs there would have been an incident.

As you might imagine with crap like that going on, there were incidents at other times where I did speak up, though no other students did. However, I wish I had called them out right then on that particular piece of crap when it happened.

  24. Taking into account the old saying “To prevent the abuse of power, eliminate the power”, I argue the solution isn’t to fix the American university system, but to bypass it.

Let’s face it – the only reason people get university degrees is as a requirement for jobs. How do we go about replacing the university with trade schools, apprenticeship programs and the use of direct aptitude testing as part of the hiring process?

  25. “How do we go about replacing the university with trade schools, apprenticeship programs and the use of direct aptitude testing as part of the hiring process?’

Wait, you haven’t noticed? They already have been (replaced). The pods are in control.

  26. “I don’t. Especially being that they don’t attract your more rigorous thinkers in the first place.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah. 2nd semester Freshman lit short stories are harder to create than the Golden Gate bridge or the Panama canal. Heard it.

  27. good good goodg… our acting secretary of commerce is some clueless-looking hoochie from the Brookings Institution who’s never worked a day in the private sector in her goddamn life

not a day in her goddamn life

  28. pods

    in

    control

    FUHF

  30. This administration is especially well known for its widespread and deep reaching lack of private sector experience.

    You’re surprised because…?

  31. I liked John Scalzi okay with Old Man’s War, Ghost Battalion, and Last Colony. Then I read about a fourth of “Your hatemail will be graded” which is just him ranting about stuff and responding to e-mails and stuff he saw on the internet. Then I read Zoe’s Tale. Then I realized he’s not so bright and prone to building with cliches and bad comic routines what other people would build with actual experience. Ah well.

  32. BTW most of the poor in the US are actually white men and women. Statistics says they are straight. Let’s hear it for the easy life!

Because if white guy one and two had it easy then white guys 3-10 also had it easy. That’s how stuff works right? Or do people stop being white (and thus having it easy) when they are toothless, or fat, or weirdos, or have anger management problems, or aspergers, etc. ?

  33. Accidentally anticipating Limbaugh, day by day:

    Pod-people from the planet Stupider.

  34. I am ok with the idea that things are, in general, easier for white people. For white men, even. Straight vs. gay, I have no idea; I’d guess that financially, it’s a wash.

What I have a problem with is that for reasons unnamed, I am supposed to issue some kind of abject apology to the rest of mankind for that.

Fuck off, peeps. Everyone is born to their own burden.

  35. I half expected to see Jeff’s bud, Prof. Rick whatever on there. That seems to be his shtick.

  36. Imagine walking up to some disadvantaged minority yutes and apologizing for having it so good to be a white boy. You’d be left a bloody heap of rags.

Assholes. They think we’re out of touch with the world.

  37. seminaries aren’t exactly staunch bastions of conservatism either

a·nal·o·gy [uh-nal-uh-jee] noun, plural a·nal·o·gies. 1. a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based: the analogy between the heart and a pump. 2. similarity or comparability: I see no analogy between your problem and mine.

  38. If the president can assert Exectutive Privilege just because, then I claim my right to assert White Skin Privelige, bitches.

  39. The pretense that ‘things in general’ are easier for ‘white people’ is not different at all from the Keynesian notion of ‘output’. It’s bullshit. There is no such entity.

  40. No such thing as a white person? No such thing as things in general? What entity is there none of?

  41. Think it through for yourself Slart. I’m not here to help you.

  42. I am not terribly interested in the fact that these sociopaths got their little consciousness raising blimp off the ground, but what I would be very interested to see is the backstory. In legalese, I want to see discovery: E-mails, funding sources, prime movers et al.

Stopping this is not enough. These people and the networks they come from need an astounding amount of sunlight.

  43. Also, and I am merely being pragmatic here, some people owe me some things I have yet to collect upon. As soon as I figure it out, I am, as the kids say, going to be “rolling fast.”

Hell, even this has yet to “help” me, and I have the scars on my back to prove it.

  44. Shouldn’t that be “Duluth – University of Minnesota?”

  45. U of M (D) is part of the U of M system, not MNSCU.

  46. Gotcha on that Sd. I’m exactly half and half Irish and Portuguese…whiter than a KKK rally I am, burn under the moon.

  47. And the only university in the Minnesota State system that refrers to itself as “Minnesota State” is the Mankato campus (formerly Mankato State University).

  48. I’m not here to help you.

I’ll file that under self-evident, sdferr.

  49. I’m a file it under “kennebunkport”

  50. I’m exactly half and half Irish and Portuguese…

I’m pretty sure you should be putting up billboards demanding reparations for the days of NINA on shopfronts. Meanwhile, I’ll be reminding my soggy friends in Duluth about a little episode that happened on July 2nd, 1863: 262 volunteers. Killed or wounded: 215. Standing on the line: 47. Routed, deserted, or missing: 0.

    Our debts are paid, bitches.

  51. Know what you’re saying Squid. I don’t have an exact tally, but my (shamefully admitted ) white ancestors fought on the other side. I do know that my great great great (whatevs) was an indentured servant and in NO way Cherokee.

Do I get reperations for being ancestry to slaves? or does my Portuguese side cancel that out? I’m so confused…

  52. Black sent a message to the campus community in April describing his effort to “create an inclusive campus climate for all”

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.”

“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”

“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master – – that’s all.”

  53. a little episode that happened on July 2nd, 1863: 262 volunteers. Killed or wounded: 215. Standing on the line: 47. Routed, deserted, or missing: 0.

The 20th Maine had better pr than the 1st Minnesota Squid.

  54. I’d say Portuguese is close enough to hispanic, as per the Warren rule, Blitz.

  55. “I am ok with the idea that things are, in general, easier for white people. For white men, even.”

It is true (as Scalzi himself might say in the throws of his rather rote spirit of mothering supposedly iconoclastic witticisms), for certain values of “white people/white men”.

For other values, most of them in fact, it is naive horse shit used to prop up the mythology of collective racial guilt as part of a pose of enlightenment. In short Scalzi buys into this crap because he thinks it makes him seem shinier.

Personally I do not believe in much if any biological validity of “races”. I suppose it might mean something for epidemiology. As poor Mr. Zimmerman the “white hispanic” exemplifies, hybridization is too easy and too common for race to really mean anything.

Race is mostly cosmetic, subject to interpretation, and only good for describing the general appearance of a corpse to a 911 operator or recognizing by general appearance someone you’ve never seen before so you can go get them at the airport and filter out those other passengers whose appearance does not match.

The culture elements followed and accepted by an individual seems to be far more important than ancestry or their appearance.

  56. I can knock on the door of some run down duplexes on the east side of Austin, and ask the “white people” renting them how their copious social advantages stemming from their skin color and “race” have made their lives easier. I might see some middle fingers dancing about though.

  57. for certain values of “white people/white men”.

That’s more or less what in general means. However: just try and explain to those poor saps (some of whom you have mentioned) that they really have had a better starting-off place than e.g. Barack Hussein Obama.

You can’t treat individuals as if they are groups. Even if your grandmother really is just an average white person.

  58. Race either really does or really does not exist, depending on what you want to accomplish with the notion of race. It’s a distinction of convenience, mostly.

  59. It’s a distinction of convenience, mostly.

Or expedience, depending on your aims.

  60. exactly half and half Irish and Portuguese
Well, Blitz, that ought to put you about halfway between Southie and New Beige. Hope it ain’t Brockton.

  61. Slart, I think it hard to argue race doesn’t exist in fact. Elevating it’s importance is a matter of convenience.

  62. Paleo, ( and others ) regarding

    THIS

I can knock on the door of some run down duplexes on the east side of Austin, and ask the “white people” renting them how their copious social advantages stemming from their skin color and “race” have made their lives easier. I might see some middle fingers dancing about though.

You should see where I live. Framingham Mass. Most of the “whites” that are in poverty are far worse off than the Hispanics and especially the blacks. ( I refuse to use African American, due to a certain bullshit factor )

I once gave my business ( Mechanic shop w/ a small body shop attchd) over to my brother, and volunteered at Sally’s here. I know it’s anecdote, not data, but this is what I saw.

Hispanics here are off the chart wealth in comparison to the blacks, but at least they WORK!!!…not that I’d hire an illegal, but at times I’ve been tempted.

Anyway, I find that the “whites” here are really the impoverished class. Hope this made some sense.

  63. My GOD Red….Why would you wish Brockton on anyone!!!….Yeesh, Nuke it from orbit.

  64. Slart? In my not so considered opinion? RACE such as it it is, does not exist. We are an almagam of everything that came before us.

HOWEVER…..If a Black/not black. Arab/ not Arab White/ not white can self identify as black? Fuck….I have long hair, so I’m gonna self idntify as female…..well, not really, because I can’t claim to be Cherokee ( No high cheekbones)

I’m sure you get the point.

  65. I think it hard to argue race doesn’t exist in fact. Elevating it’s importance is a matter of convenience.

Actually, it’s not difficult to argue at all. That genetic differences exist between people — and groups of people — isn’t a matter of dispute. But arbitrary race categorizations are not only easily debunked, but they should be.

Do a site search for my debate with Steve Sailer on these points. Way long time again — 2002-2004ish.

  66. Race is mostly cosmetic, subject to interpretation

    Until the courts get involved.

Recall the case I’ve mentioned here before, the Phipps case I think, where the law declared a woman black based on her mother’s misapprehension of her race. The woman didn’t look black and didn’t identify as black.

    But there you have it.

    Law!

  67. Actually, it’s not difficult to argue at all. That genetic differences exist between people — and groups of people — isn’t a matter of dispute. But arbitrary race categorizations are not only easily debunked, but they should be.

Yes, I was speaking to genetic differences. And how politicians find it convenient to address arbitrary race categorizations for fun and profit.

  68. Law….LAW??? It is what we say it is. So stay in line you H8er racists and we’ll come for you last if you’re lucky.

Fuck this. Galts Gulch it is.

  69. And when Carney said that Obama’s decision to assert executive privilege over documents subpoenaed by Congress was “entirely about principle,” reporters openly laughed.

  70. I’m white and I think Romney totally sucks.

  71. Unless I’m not white.

  72. Slart just reminded me of something here:

just try and explain to those poor saps (some of whom you have mentioned) that they really have had a better starting-off place than e.g. Barack Hussein Obama.
You can’t treat individuals as if they are groups. Even if your grandmother really is just an average white person.

The (stereo)typical white person is a lower-upper to upper-middle class professional.

Barak Obama is Mitt Romney with a better tan.

(That may not be entirely fair

    —to Romney).

  73. Shoot, Blitz, only off by thirty miles. Am I good or what? Of course, in RI, you could guess any location and only be off by that.

  74. I’m kind of a pinkish-tan, but the census forms never include that.

  75. No they’ll just find a lizard in Galt’s Gulch declare it endangered and shut you down. I’m afraid walking away is not permitted.

  76. Pingback: Another Opportunity for Honkies to Express their Superiority Over the Wrong Kinds of White People « Andrew J. Patrick

  77. However, on an even deeper though unconscious level, what this quintessentially white-liberal, anti-white campaign is saying is that whites really are superior—inherently superior—to other races, particularly to blacks, in intelligence, in looks, in the fineness of their vibrations, in every way; and since any inequality is unfair, it is unfair to be white. Therefore whites must in perpetuity impose unearned withering moral censure and material disadvantages on themselves, including allowing themselves to be terrorized, disfigured, and murdered by blacks, while bestowing unearned effusive moral approval and material advantages on nonwhites, particularly blacks, in an endless but never successful effort to cancel out the hideous unfairness of being white.
