Palin goes around the media and pokes once again at Obama, Scapegoater-in-Chief:
When his all-too-common finger-pointing is directed at Republicans, President Obama’s search for a scapegoat is swallowed as merely the typical Beltway politics of our permanent political class. But pointing fingers at our allies when they are working to get their own financial house in order is counterproductive and can have a serious negative affect on our ability to lead the free world.
One German newspaper denounced the President’s comments as “overbearing, arrogant, and absurd.” Another wrote: “The gloomy state of the economy is putting a damper on Obama’s future prospects. The optimism of the past is gone, replaced by a cheap search for a scapegoat.” And still another wrote: “That’s not how friends talk to each other. That applies particularly to friends who have themselves failed to get a handle on their own, self-made crisis.”
Can we blame them for feeling this way? Keep in mind this was a President who was supposed to make the rest of the world “like” us again.
It’s about time the President showed some leadership and took responsibility rather than campaigning on blaming everyone else for the financial mess his policies have exacerbated.
Between President Obama’s hypocritical lecture poking our allies in the eye again and one Democrat governor’s call to postpone lawfully mandated elections for two years, I suppose nothing should surprise concerned Americans anymore. But that doesn’t mean we have to accept these misguided memes. 2012 can’t come soon enough.
Whatever. Racist. Jungle feverist.

update: Oh, and just to clear up the latest round of media malpractice aimed at the former Governor…
she just sort of sits back with her duh net and collects everything everyone else has been saying for the last week or so and then takes it to market
I wonder if she learned this from the sammin catching it’s very similar
You broke the blog, Jeff.
oh noes a tag is left unattached
To market, to market to buy a duh net and what did it catch?
Baited with cupcakes, I suspect.
National Soros Radio talked about Miss Thang today in one of their scarier forays into blatant narrative-creating dirty socialist obamawhore propaganda
Yes. Read the whole thing. They’re prepping the idea-space for fraught scaremongerings about the rise of nationalism in America when Obama gets the boot.
Creepy.
Here’s a bit more of a taste.

Typical of the left: Palin has a history of using “patriot” as short for “TEA Party patriot,” and they know it. But if they can pull it out of its context and ignore all the intertextual examples that show clearly what she means, they can pretend she’s almost like a Nazi.
Fine. Try it.
Were I Palin, I’d respond by calling their bluff: “Actually, I use ‘patriot’ as short for TEA Party patriots from time to time — you’re welcome to check my other speeches for just such a usage if you want, because you’ll find that to be the case — but so long as you bring it up, I guess I’d have to think about whether or not constitutionalists and those who believe in individual liberty and free market capitalism should be calling a man who promised to ‘fundamentally change’ the country ‘a patriot,’ given that patriots are generally considered to be those who respect the country they live in, not apologize for it and work to ‘fundamentally change it.'”
She can have that one for free.
Ordinary patriots suggest kicking NPR off the government dole.

Did the bitch.
Wilt how can you keep them straight?
Better yet, listen to his Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue and pay particular attention to the “We’ll put a boot in your ass, it’s the American way.” line.
the snowhoochie had her chance and missed it big time. now’s the time for her to jump into battle or stfu. relevance is drifting away and your facebook account ain’t goin’ to save you.
So, now you’re sliming Sarah with the “marketeer” epithet?
Please revert to hoochie cumslut.
Funny how the definition of “patriot” switches from opposing to supporting along with Party affiliation….
“now’s the time for her to jump into battle or stfu.”
to which i mean is the snowhoochie with: santorumbachmanncain or romneyperryhuntsman or paul faction? otherwise i can get idiot opinion from karltherovester.

Nationalism and patriotism aren’t the same thing, which NPR would understand if they weren’t so dogmatically post-nationalist, trans-nationalist Internationale-ist.
Holy mother of the sweet little baby Jesus who reaches out to sprinkle post-season fairy dust on the Tampa Bay Rays, what a night of baseball. Thank you Orioles, eh? Wow. And congrats to the Cards, coming back from 8 1/2 games down. Awesome.
There is no joy in hotlanta or beantown.
I thinking Florida has it right.
We need a deadline. Let’s make it kickoff Sunday.
In or out.
That’s “I’m thinking” or “I think” I think.
That depends on how you look at it. Fuck.

I’ve been HAD by the media?
*hangs head in shame
Sorta OT, but I got a big belly laugh this morning. Race hustler Jesse love-child Jackson was in Detroit yesterday protesting cuts to welfare. After 4 years, some of your benefits (cash – not foodstamps or houseing vouchers, mind you – but a form of cash given to cover what’s not given directly).
In the tape/audio – the crowd is singing “We shall overcome.”
We shall overcome?
Overcome WHAT??? You ain’t overcoming shit. You’ve decided that overcoming isn’t “your thing”, and you just are gonna do the plantation thing waiting for the master to hand you that cash.
Jesse’s urging a war on poverty (haven’t we had that for years?) and wants Obama to establish a White House Commission on Poverty.
@@@@@
Start with overcoming being a broke ass moocher and I’ll sing with ya.
When are these idiots going to figure out that the best “social program” is a J-O-B?
I know! The Twins avoided a 100 loss season! Can you believe it?!?
I cannot stand watching the Twins any more. When they gave up, I did.
Hey, Carin. I read this weekend that my former town of Reading, PA has surpassed Detraoit as having the greatest poverty rate in these United States at 41.9%. Lack of government outreach is blamed, natch.
That would be Detroit.
The Twins avoided a 100 loss season! Can you believe it?!?
My secretary ran the bases at the end of the game. Said it was the highlight of the season. Pretty much sums things up, right there.
Oooh, Reading. Of my two acquaintances from that town, one hightailed it to Texas as soon as he had the chance, and the other is in prison for manslaughter.
Great town, Reading.
I’m not impressed Twins fans. Not at all. Talk to me after you’ve lived through 14 sub-.500 seasons in a row.
I hate Reading. I was only living there because it was my ex-husband’s hometown. I beat it out West as soon as the ink was dry on the divorce papers.

really? I was there last summer, when we did a trip through PA. My husband grew up there. Sad.
It didn’t seem exactly booming, but Detroit level poverty? Wow.
The story is in the New York Times, if you’re inclined to read about it. It is sad.
I’m not impressed sdferr. Talk to me after being a Cleveland sports fan. Go ahead, pick your sport :)
Hey, I wasn’t complaining about anything but the Twinkies’ complaining OI. (Although, I do complain about the O’s from time to time, to be sure. Just not on this occasion. Oh, and the Indians have had seven .500 or better seasons out of the last 14 and four trips to the playoffs in that time, with two sub-.500 seasons at 80-82 including this one. So…)
it’s starting to look a lot like Sarah’s 2012 strategy all along was that she was fine with not running as long as there was no danger of a tea party candidate taking the nomination, which explains why she’s been so eager to kick Perry in the nuts
with Romney as the nominee the fields of green on which she grazes will remain as fertile as she
Well, now that baseball is over, the whole upper mid-west can focus on Sunday’s epic interconference clash of the titans. Minnesota at Kansas City is sure to be a game for the ages. Can’t wait to see the highlight film.
They still make football follies, right?
How is Gov. Perry closer to the Tea Party than Mr Cain hf? I don’t see it myself, sketchy as the whole proposition is, granted.
Attention whore whoring for attention. Whore attention whore, whore.
She endorsed Perry at the height of tea party fever, but now she finds him corrupt. And Cain is just the flavor of the week she says.
I think she’s pretty happy with how things are unfolding.
I’m not asking about what Gov Palin says hf (mostly because I don’t care), but how you look at Perry vs. Cain, though. I mean, are you actually comfortable painting Perry as closer to the Tea Party than Cain?
oh. got it. I think cain’s national sales tax was considered shockingly un-tea party when Mr. Governor Daniels mentioned it in passing as a hypothetical possibility that we might could discuss the merits of at some point.
But what I think makes Perry a more better teadoodle is that as governor of Texas he’s been engaged in a horrifying battle against the most fascist hyper-regulatory elements of the American government. Mr. Perry’s election would burn our oppressors with the blazing fires of repudiation much more so than would the election of Mr. Cain I think.
She endorsed Perry over Hutchinson for Texas Governor. And Cain is the media flavor of the week.
But you knew that already, didn’t you?
why would she endorse a corrupt man for governor that’s just creepy
I think we have to draw a narrower (because truer) distinction between the Fair Taxishness of Cain’s proposal and Daniels’ reminiscences on Herman Kahn’s thoughts on a VAT hf.
that’s pretty much how I remember it, except that Daniels was just musing – Cain is all in
link
corrupt is that rhetorical base you just tried to steal
compromised is what Palin said Perry is with his not above suspicion appearance on mandatory hpv vaccines executive ordering i think
Grover Norquist’s lying doesn’t shake much weight with me, I’m afraid. But I still don’t see Mr Cain touting a value-added tax, but something lesser though nearer to the Fair Tax in spirit. I don’t know but maybe Cain is aiming at a gradual introduction of the Fair Tax concepts over time? They are kinda complicated on the whole, at least in the sense that the full-on measure demands the Constitutional change of the elimination of the income tax.
that’s true but the furor about the vat as I understood it was that the teadoodles, who have been tax enough already so to speak, were convinced that a new tax, however well-intentioned, would inevitably be incrementally raisered up over time like the ones in Chicago and Los Angeles
me I’m perfectly fine with Cain’s plan
Palin said that Perry’s disgusting attempt to prevent cancer was a prime example of the crony capitalisms she warned warned warned us about
except for when she endorsed him
Here’s what Palin actually said, just so our staunch staunch staunch conservative isn’t able to drive the false meme here:
I’ve heard Cain interviewed a number of times and his end goal is a flat or fair tax system (can’t recall which, but I assume its a kind of flat tax on income, because that wouldn’t require a constitutional amendment) that he hopes to bring about incrementally over a number of steps. He says he believes he can get it done.
I have to scoot to work
I don’t recall thinking to myself that the attacks on Gov Daniels were a function of Tea Party sentiment, but it could easily be that I was mislead by my own admiration of him at the time coupled with an equal admiration for the rise of the Tea Parties themselves (hence, I simply refused to face up to the sources of the attacks?). Possibly. I should think on it.
He’s still very much a Fair Tax guy. He sees 9-9-9 as setting the table for the Fair Tax, at which point 9-9-9 would sunset.
https://www.hermancain.com/999plan
9-9-9 is Phase 1. It goes away in Phase 2, which is the Fair Tax.
You do not get more Tea Party than Cain. He’s been there all along. He’s not coming around to the concept, he’s been a driver.
That’s the same with every tax and every tax plan, barring a Constitutional amendment. Whatever it is and no matter how much you like it, future governments can always change it. Duh.
This isn’t really a new tax, as the plan would eliminate the current tax code entirely. It’s a replacement.
me personally I think the “flavor of the week” formulation betrays that she’s not particularly concerned that Mr. Cain is cruising to the nomination… it’s just not how you describe someone you have high hopes for
which was my whole point in bringing it up at #50
If that’s the case hf, then it would be good that she were to get a pleasant surprise otherwise, when Mr Cain wins the nomination, insofar as she’s enamored of the people speaking their minds.
I could happily vote for Mr. Cain
I could vote for Mr. Perry too, even though his flavor is not to my taste really
Romney is on his own
I think “flavor of the week” colloquially expresses the vagaries of opinion polls at this particular point in the nomination campaign. Your objection flows from the mischaracterization of Palin as a cheerleader instead of a political news analyst offering her opinion.
It’s kind of the inverse of your own difficulty.
If anyone were to ever mistake you for a political new analyst, that is.
I doubt there’s any danger of that, Ernst.
I dunno; he has the same depth of understanding and analysis that most pundits seem to have, and also the same contempt for hoochies what forget their place. He’d fit right in on MSNBC.
the important thing is mom’s chicken spaghetti is a hit! Me and NG just had it for lunch and she loved it so she has a big thinger to take home for tonight. Her kitchen won’t be done until Saturday or so.
Before there were Tea Party rallies there were Fair Tax rallies. Cain was involved with both.
