The Pledge: so divisive

So in Eugene, OR, a ban on the Pledge in City Hall is upheld.

Personally, I don’t give a damn. Most lawmakers have long since forgotten what country they live in, anyway, and it makes more sense to remind them by kicking them out of office than it does to force them to pretend they owe allegiance to anyone other than their own lust for power and control.

Having said that, it’s not unfair to hope that, once they’re civilly booted, using elections to make proper constitutional changes, these blithering fucks land hard on their “citizen of the world”-coccyxes such that debilitating sharp pains travel up their spine and jar their tiny brainpans.

Can’t have people reminded about how far we’ve fallen. I mean, really — a Republic? Liberty for all? That’s wingnut talk!

Meh. I like when lefty locales differentiate themselves like this. It only takes one scummy leftist in an otherwise sane community to cause trouble, so anything that makes these sorts feel the urge to relocate among the similarly defective gives me cheer. That I myself live in the largest such cockroach concentration camp in the country is my own problem to deal with.

Isn’t Eugene a place to be for people who find Santa Cruz too buttoned down and uptight, or Berkeley too stuffy and conformist?

  4. Squid says:

I think it’s more of a dumping ground for the people that Berkeley and Santa Cruz can’t stand any more.

wif liberties and justices for all!

  6. cranky-d says:

Santa Cruz is such a nice place. Too bad it’s chock full of liberals.

Santa Cruz is where old hippies go to die.

Is it a coincidence that Deb Frisch is living in Eugene?

They call it Eugene but it is also known as Moscow-on-the-Willamette.

They are bigots, plain and simple, and we should not hesitate to call them out as such.
