"Unreported Soros Event Aims to Remake Entire Global Economy"

Noted this yesterday in the comments, but I figure I should probably give it a place of prominence. By the way, anyone remember how the useful idiots on the left — and more than a few of “intellectuals” on the right — used to scoff at the notion that we have, in our country, people who are actively engaged in trying to destroy sovereignty and impose transnational progressivism on us (and every other developed nation)?

How unhelpful was such conspiracy-mongering. Tut tut. Posh.

Here’s my advice — which has been fairly consistent, and dates back to 911: for fuck’s sake, listen to what your enemies are telling you they are trying to do. Jesus!

What’s happening in Madison is a test run.

Two years ago, George Soros said he wanted to reorganize the entire global economic system. In two short weeks, he is going to start – and no one seems to have noticed.

On April 8, a group he’s funded with $50 million is holding a major economic conference and Soros’s goal for such an event is to “establish new international rules” and “reform the currency system.” It’s all according to a plan laid out in a Nov. 4, 2009, Soros op-ed calling for “a grand bargain that rearranges the entire financial order.”

The event is bringing together “more than 200 academic, business and government policy thought leaders’ to repeat the famed 1944 Bretton Woods gathering that helped create the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Soros wants a new ‘multilateral system,” or an economic system where America isn’t so dominant.

More than two-thirds of the slated speakers have direct ties to Soros. The billionaire who thinks “the main enemy of the open society, I believe, is no longer the communist but the capitalist threat” is taking no chances.

Thus far, this global gathering has generated less publicity than a spelling bee. And that’s with at least four journalists on the speakers list, including a managing editor for the Financial Times and editors for both Reuters and The Times. Given Soros’s warnings of what might happen without an agreement, this should be a big deal. But it’s not.

[…]

The Soros empire is silent about this new Bretton Woods conference because it isn’t just designed to change global economic rules. It also is designed to put America in its place – part of a multilateral world the way Soros wants it. He wrote that the U.S. “could lead a cooperative effort to involve both the developed and the developing world, thereby reestablishing American leadership in an acceptable form.”

That’s what this conference is all about – changing the global economy and the United States to make them “acceptable” to George Soros.

And make no mistake: Sugar Daddy has his acolytes — and we’re to be the guinea pigs in their grand social designs.

But, but, the Koch brothers! Eleventy!

I agree that our enemies (let’s just be truthful about it) tell us exactly what they want and how they feel, be it domestic or foreign. For instance, many of those Islamic theocracies are serious about destroying us, and they say they are. You don’t have to be a rocket surgeon to figure this stuff out, you just have to take people at their word.

Then, you need to act accordingly, and perhaps bust some heads if necessary.

    DEATH THREAT!

  2. The Monster says:

There you go with that Glenn Beck conspiracy theory stuff. Everyone knows George Soros is a good man and all those who oppose him are Koch Suckers.

  3. B. Moe says:

Soros described in the 2009 op-ed that U.S.-China conflict as “another stark choice between two fundamentally different forms of organization: international capitalism and state capitalism.” He concluded that “a new multilateral system based on sounder principles must be invented.” As he explained it in 2010, “we need a global sheriff.”

We need to be stocking up on ammo.

And how can anybody call something that brazen a conspiracy?

  4. LBascom says:

“And how can anybody call something that brazen a conspiracy?”

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.

  5. LBascom says:

Not that I’m saying any of this is paranoia. I was one that used to take all the New World Order people with a grain of salt. Not now.

  6. LBascom says:

    And make no mistake

Jeff, I beg you, please! That phrase is nails on the chalkboard to me.

Also, if you could avoid using “let me be clear”, I would consider it a huge favor.

    Thanks in advance.

That has a pleasingly Orwellian ring to it, does it not?

Howzabout kapo Soros just mind his own #$%&ing business (you know, currency speculation, misery profiting). Or, maybe this conference could be held in France – I think they have something for George, if he would show up.

  8. Spiny Norman says:

I did not realize you’d already noted that article when posted the link this morning, but I’ll reiterate what I said then: it isn’t a question of if Soros is a James Bond villain come to life, but one of which one is he, Blofeld or Goldfinger?

    {O.O}

Seriously though, whenever our friends on the Left rage about some insidious and nefarious right-wing billionaire trying to “buy” the government (first it was Richard Mellon Scaife, now it’s the Koch brothers), they are engaging in yet another round of Projection.

  9. B. Moe says:

But ruling the world is his business.

I’m horribly confused by the black helicopter thing.

On the one had, they say there’s people who want a transnational world order. Well yes, they are.

And then people call them conspiracy cranks.

Except it’s not a conspiracy… they have like luncheons and shit. It gets catered. They put out a newsletter. As is their perogative – I don’t agree with their views but they’re allowed to advocate for them.

They certainly exist – hell they have summits and luncheons and put out policy papers. Anyone saying any such talk is ‘crank conspiracy’ stuff is being quite obtuse.

Yet, you should still probably take the black helicopter folks with a grain of salt. I can’t tell you why, but they seem to think it’s a conspiracy despite being right out in the open (although no one but them pays attention to it) and if you go on their websites, you’ll usually see it covered right inbetween articles about how aliens killed JFK and the truth about chemtrails.

  12. LBascom says:

“They certainly exist – hell they have summits and luncheons and put out policy papers. Anyone saying any such talk is ‘crank conspiracy’ stuff is being quite obtuse.”

Well, I wasn’t so much talking about black helicopters, though they too exist. I was speaking more to an international cabal of very powerful people that has been long established and are working diligently to bring a NWO to fruition, with national sovereignty in general and the US constitution in particular as their obstacles.

The paranoia and conspiracy theories come in when trying to guess the players and how much of the shit going on now is attributable to them.

  13. Squid says:

The Gnomes of Zurich will soon strike down Mr. Soros for the crime of bringing their dark secrets into the open. Unless they’re using him as a tool for a deeper, darker plot. Unless they’re telling him that’s what he’s doing, but they’re really setting him up for a fall, or as part of a bigger plan. Unless he’s in on the plan, and he’s willing to sacrifice himself to see it to fruition. Unless he’s in on the plot, but is subverting it to his own ends…

Conspiracy stuff is just too easy.

Personally, I think stripping the dollar of its status as Earth’s reserve currency will bring the US economy down in an avalanche of debt service payments, which will bring down most of the rest of the world’s economies. What better way to “remake the entire global economy” than to bring the whole thing crashing down?

  15. LBascom says:

“Personally, I think stripping the dollar of its status as Earth’s reserve currency will bring the US economy down in an avalanche of debt service payments”

I heard that if the US dollar is no longer the world reserve currency, the US will no longer be able to just print money to meet our needs.

    As in, we become Zimbabwe.

  16. Entropy says:

Eeeeerrrrrrr, no I called it a ‘black helicopter thing’ but I was talking about the ‘cabal’. I’m not saying black helicopters exist (and have luncheons).

Not that I’m not sure some helicopters are black…

There is, with absolutely no doubt, some people who believe we need a global government or some such.

I don’t know that they classify as a ‘cabal’. Depends on what you mean by that, I guess.

Philanthropist billionaire George Soros is a primary funder and key proponent of the global organization that promotes the military doctrine used by the Obama administration to justify the recent airstrikes targeting the regime of Moammar Gadhafi in Libya.

The activist who founded and coined the name of the doctrine, “Responsibility to Protect,” sits on several key organizations alongside Soros.

Entropy, I didn’t excerpt all your comment I was replying to, sorry to cause confusion.

You said NWO people do exist, out in the open, so I was saying black helicopters exist too, the CIA flies them, among others.

My point wasn’t whether they exist, but that their existence brings conjecture on who “they” are exactly (International bankers! World leaders! Billionaires! Jay-Z!), and what they are doing. Given what is going on in the world, I’m inclined to give more credence to the idea that there are those in high, powerful places, using American assets even, to bring about the destruction of the USA to establish a NWO.

I still feel kinda ridiculous even saying that, but it doesn’t seem so crazy these days.

    I don’t know.

Sometimes I think there are some who are trying, and it’s a terrifying thought what they might produce.

But I don’t neccessarly think they have the super-human compitence they think they do. They’re just shmucks like anyone else – rich influential shmucks, but shmucks still.

  22. Entropy says:

I just read that WND article newsrouter linked.

On the one hand, it kind of gives me the willies.

On the other hand, it’s WND. I can’t believe I actually read it.

Repleat with crank ads for mail-ordering an acre’s worth of “Emergency Survival” seeds, and links to that crazy viral ‘financial apocalypse’ site that’s been floating around the net for a year now, that shows all the signs of habits of being a scam, or maybe the side project of one of those dudes running a “Pick-Up Artist” scheme’s side project, including javascript that tries to block you from nagivating away and an hour’s worth of empty but alarming rhetoric about how shocking and time-critical what they’re about to tell you is.

I tried to listen to it once, about a year ago, but couldn’t make through to the end to see how much (or how) they’re asking you to pay them to tell you what it is.

  24. Ernst Schreiber says:

    John Fonte has your back:

Strobe Talbott, former Deputy Secretary of State for Bill Clinton and currently president of the Brookings Institution, has written a book that is full of insights into the mindset of “transnational progressivism” and the strategy of promoting “global governance.” Here, for instance, is a White House meeting of Bill Clinton’s foreign policy team just before the president’s first address to the United Nations. The Cold War was over, and Clinton was pondering the direction of history.” Al Gore weighed in:

Rousseau said the body politic is a moral being possessed of a will. He was thinking on the national level. We need to take it to the international one. We need to make the leap from nationhood to a sense of identity that is truly global, but that embodies Rousseau’s point.

According to Talbott, Clinton agreed in principle, but was concerned about how to sell the idea: “that’s great stuff Al…but until I can say it in a single phrase, we’re sunk.”

As they say, read the whole thing!

  25. LBascom says:

“But I don’t neccessarly think they have the super-human compitence they think they do. “

You think it’s to super-genius to to accomplish installing a hopelessly imcompitent man puppet in the White House?

    You could be right.

  26. LBascom says:

    Too

  27. Entropy says:

You think it’s to super-genius to to accomplish installing a hopelessly imcompitent man puppet in the White House?

Ahh, think about that though – remember the BDS moonbats?

It’s like with most conspiracy theories. Government is incompitent. Right hand don’t know what the left’s doing. That’s the reason why spontaneous order works better than anything else – no human being has the capacity to micromanage a complex dynamic system like that.

9/11, aliens, whatever, requires you to believe in nearly super-human ability and genius and yet rank amateur incompetence at the same time. If shadowy geniuses have been able to willfully manipulate the American masses into electing whomever they wanted, and planted O on us, wouldn’t they have planted someone more competent?

Smart enough to fool the whole world into believing in a fictional WMD program that never existed, and yet retard enough that they didn’t plant any and never even thought of that option when they couldn’t find them.

While some real people certainly try to be like that, they haven’t the ability the scheme and plot 30 steps in advance like fictional villians do with their crazy plots. Unforseen and unintended consequences put the kabosh on that shit fast. You can act, hoping that your action will cause others to respond in a certain way, but you can’t directly control how they will react, and you can never really know either.

No plan survives first contact with the enemy, so to speak.

Like Osama Bin Laden and his tapes and the argument over who he endorsed in the 2004 election.

He says he wants Kerry, so he supports Kerry. Oh but wait – of course OBL knows we hate his guts and his endorsement is the kiss of death. So the fact that he endorsed Kerry means he really wants us to re-elect Bush. But wait – of OBL is so clever, he knows we know he knows his endorsement is the kiss of death, so he’s double-bluffing us!

He knows what impact he wants to have, so he rolls the dice as he sees fit based on his own agenda, but there’s really no way he can know, predict, or control what reaction others are going to have to him. No one can really say how his tapes effected the election or if they did at all.

Maybe it’s just more comforting to me to believe ther aren’t any shadowy svengoli’s out there playing 46-dimension chess in a way I could honestly never fathom or probably even defend myself against. But I don’t think there are. Some people think they are, but no one can really pull shit like that off with any kind of consistency – if they get lucky once in a while it’s just luck.

Case in point – these supergeniuses are supergeniuses enough to put Obama in office (they probably helped), and instigate war in Libya (they may have helped), and have Obama send the air force in (I have no idea), and all that. But look at the clusterfuck! They can’t even handle an air raid on Libya.

To the extent that maybe this IS all some sort of NWO cabal plot to prove the efficacy of multilateralism and redefine international relations – they’re still shmucks and they’re fucking the hell up and it’s just as liable to backfire because now they look plain stupid.

The supposedely control heads of state and send them off to war? And yet, they can’t get the dickheads to stop bickering amongst themselves and covering their asses long enough to actual do what they’re suppose to do?

  28. AJB says:

If international economic institutions are bad now, does that mean that the WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA et al. should be ditched?

I mean, if you’re going to be anti-globalist then be consistent here. Free trade agreements have much more sway than most other treaties and the Tea Party’s been suspiciously silent on them.

  29. LBascom says:

“If shadowy geniuses have been able to willfully manipulate the American masses into electing whomever they wanted, and planted O on us, wouldn’t they have planted someone more competent?”

If you want to throw the game, the quarterback doesn’t have to be good.

It’s not a storming the castle strategy, it’s more like a Boa Constrictor. They don’t squeeze really hard and drive your breath out, they take the opportunity of every exhalation to tighten up just a little more.

Proggs been around since at least Wilson, it’s an incremental, opportunistic strategy. And if you can use the strengths of America against herself (Alinskey, Cloward-Pivin), so much the better. Many tactics and operations can be deployed, all need not be successful, or work out as planned. They just need wait til there’s a small exhale, and take up the slack. Sooner or later, there will be no more to exhale.

I’m not saying we are being played like a violin, I’m saying we are being slowly corrupted and enslaved, and it’s not madness to suspect it’s by design.

Our national identity is being destroyed, dis-unity is rampant as more identity groups self-identify, essential energy is drying up despite our swimming in fossil fuels, we are so deep in hock we’ve lost control of our destiny. Our government agonizes over sending additional military to support the war in Afghanistan where our troops have been dying for eight years, but send assets to Libya on a whim to protect foreign civilians.

I don’t claim all these events were carefully planned out, and brilliantly executed, but I have a hard time ruling out the possibility that there are those in high places with power that desire these things, and encourage them whenever possible.

  30. Entropy says:

Because if they have any brains they’re for them.

Same as they are for free trade within the US and not a bunch of thieves laundering money through their croneys from behind the obsfuscations of a byzantine regulatory regime no one can understand.

It’s a matter of freedom of assembly as well. If I want to buy a product from a foreigner, who the hell is the government to tell me I can’t, or to tack a special punitive tax on it?

It expands competition as well as consumer choices (which itself protects consumers by offering alternate options), and leads to an increased and more effective division of labor which is the source of the wealth of nations.

What, is the government afraid someone will find a way to escape their regulatory regime? Find a place to buy incandescent lightbulbs or import wasteful toilets and effective dish detergent, now that they’ve banned US companies from making any?

Trade barriers are the financial equivalent of the Berlin Wall. Tyrannous plutocracies build them to keep people in, not out.

There was no free trade in the high days of the Divine Right of Kings, it only came about at the end, with new ideas like democracy and rights.

  31. Entropy says:

If you want to throw the game, the quarterback doesn’t have to be good.

It’s not a storming the castle strategy, it’s more like a Boa Constrictor. They don’t squeeze really hard and drive your breath out, they take the opportunity of every exhalation to tighten up just a little more.

Well, that’s not much of a ‘conspiracy’ either. Duh. Whether or not they are as brash as Khruschev screaming he’ll bury us, our enemies love useful idiots.

In the sense that there are in fact (perhaps billions of) people on this earth who are willing to cooperate to bring us to ruin in any form, just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean people aren’t trying to kill you.

But that’s the confluence of idiots and hostiles who see opportunities to exploit them. Like you say – opportunistic. Not schemed up, but the exact opposite.

There are schemes to be certain, but realistical ones with realistic results, the KGB’s “revolution theology” got a lot of people killed, but their campaign to promote modernist art in order to demoralize us was a bit of a self parody. While it certainly effected things, not in quite the way they foresaw, and neither saved their ass from being institutionally bankrupt.

That’s a different sort of thing. More like sticking your foot out and tripping someone. I just don’t personally see tripping as the same as ‘manipulating’ in that shadowy puppetmaster who rules the world sort of vibe.

So.. basically I agree with you. But I still think WND is kind of yellow and slightly cranky and the black helicopter/JFK/chemtrail cranks are cranks.

  32. JD says:

    Fuck you, Yelverton.

  33. LBascom says:

“Like you say – opportunistic. Not schemed up, but the exact opposite.”

I don’t say the exact opposite.

I say there could well be kinetic, if you will, desire to steer those hostile billions by an elite few, in an effort to bring down the present global organization with it’s nations and various ideologies, so it can be replaced with a central-power global organization. With the elite behind the scheme in the drivers seat.

I don’t think it unreasonable to conceive of a international, powerful organization(a cabal?) with a goal, and they use whatever subtle methods available to increase social tensions, de-legitimize border control, increase the welfare state, corrupt our judicial system, weaken our military, undermine faith, indoctrinate our youth, corrode our morals and confidence, invent constant crisis, incite class envy, promote mind-numbing entertainment, imperil the economy, and deny self dependence and encourage irresponsibility at every opportunity, in pursuit of their goal. I.E. destroy National, and by extension local, government. So they can create a global government.

If you entertain the hypothetical, right now they’re in destroy faze, and it don’t take precision to destroy. Just time and will. The trick is making sure they are on top when it all comes tumbling down.

I sometimes feel like one of the Jews who watched as Krystalnacht played out, and still sat immobile, saying “Meh. No problem. Dinner’s on the table”.

There is some major shit barreling down the road, and our nation has finally passed the tipping point of “stupidified”. Our government is run by people who, for the most part, should be locked up in a looney bin. My son and his friends have been completely mentally disarmed by their so called “education”, and they are totally unequipped to deal with anything that exists outside of a flat screen.

I can only watch in horror, because almost no one wants to hear it…
