SEIU-SEIU-SEIUDIO

I noted this in a comment last night, but because some of you may not have seen it, let me point out here that many of the voting “glitches” (which of late have a remarkable habit of accidentally benefiting Democrats) documented thus far in this year’s Nevada election, have a distinct air of worry about them. To wit:

Did you know that the SEIU represents the voting machine technicians in Clark County (Las Vegas), Nevada? Is it any surprise, as we noted earlier today, that there was a voting glitch in Clark County, Nevada? The glitch caused Harry Reid’s name to be automatically checked on the ballot before voters had indicated who were they were supporting.

[…]

The agreement between the SEIU and Clark County specifically puts all voting machines under the control of the SEIU. See the collective bargaining agreement:

The County hereby recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative of the County employees assigned to the classifications listed in Appendix A who are eligible to be represented by the Union except as limited by Section 2 of this Article. The Union shall be notified of additions to the list of classifications (Appendix A), within seven (7) days of posting for the position classification and shall receive 30 days advance notice of any deletions. Upon written request by the Union, the parties shall meet and confer regarding deletions within the 30 day notification period referenced herein. Both parties recognize that the Union retains its right to appeal under the provisions of NRS 288.170.

On page 75 of the agreement, in Appendix A, Voting Machine Technician is listed as a classified position that the SEIU represents. Even though the CBA expired on June 30, 2010, the CBA continues until this day because of language in Article 43 which says that the County and SEIU can continue the CBA year to year until one party deems it unfit.

What a coincidence that the voting machines in Clark County just happen to be automatically set to support the candidate that the union that represents the “voting machine technicians” supports… You vote, we decide.

So’s you know, the SEIU has spent close to a quarter of a million dollars to oppose Sharron Angle.

Then, of course, there’s this: “Reid ‘Intends to Steal this Election if He Can’t Win it Outright,'” according to Angle’s campaign attorney Cleta Mitchell.

The media is pretending to remain dubious over such allegations.

You and I, however, know better than to put anything past these people.

The focus to clarity will only grow. Prescient trade unionists will even likely be capable of envisioning their institutions’ own extinction. Pie for everyone!

“So you know, the SEIU has spent close to a quarter of a million dollars to oppose Sharron Angle.”

Wow! A WHOLE $250,000! That’s, like, a lot of money! Good thing we have comprehensive disclosure laws for this kind of thing! I mean for unions and huge multi-national corporations.

  3. happyfeet says:

I wouldn’t be able to give a lot of the little monies I do give if I knew my name would be disclosed. Liberals will fuck you up if they find out on the internet you donate to Team R or Team R-related causes.

Not all of them but a lot will. That’s also why I’m registered as an independent here in CA.

    It’s just prudent.

  4. Jeff G. says:

Well, they decided it was probably best not to openly charge for the technical “expertise” they are perhaps providing.

But yeah. You just keep pretending that public unions using tax dollars to pay for their messaging demanding more and more of your tax dollars is just a silly little wingnut gripe. Something for you and SEK to giggle over as you live off the public tit.

Enjoy it while it lasts, brother.

  5. sdferr says:

Stenchfinker brings teh funneh with Obamaist flair. While conveniently ignoring the buried conflict of interest as between voters and public-union workers. Surprising no-one.

  10. Bob Reed says:

Yeah, this is some BS for sure. Why wouldn’t an independant firm be brought in to handle the machines; perhaps even from out of state to guarantee were disintersted, in the classical sense.

Still the whole idea of SEIU servicers, coupled with their lockstep support for progressives, demonstrated propensity to use, “whatever means necessary”, and the reports that have surfaced about people voting Rethug! but their ballots reflecting otherwise is diconceting.

And would certainly be newsworthy if the roles were reversed.

Pithy choice of title, by the way.

They’re also playing the long game, Jeff. George Soros is backing a candidate in my state. links here.

  12. BJTex, 100% Portuguese Self-Inflicted Brain Farts says:

Let’s talk about the situation with government funded trade union as opposed to private enterprise: Our government trade unions, no matter which state they might be from, will have full employment and pay raises regardless of the total employment/economic scheme and definite returns on the economy. In other words the private employees get screwed, not because they are pushed away by bureaucrats but are detached because for profit firms aren’t allowed to work on deficits just to protect, well, everyone. Instead, the government unions are forced to work and be paid, even if they get to hang around a meeting place because the governments are allowed to work on deficits.

What’s happening now is that those very same governments have done such a horrible job of budgeting that the deficit is now brutal and statewide in so many liberal government states. Of course the union reps would like to see more money snatched from state tax payers or elect some democrat who will squeeze earmarks into their state to continue to employ union reps and pay for expenses.

Lather, rinse, repeat, fall over in bankruptcy as people look to leave the state along with their for profit company. It’s stupid, mind blowing, anti mathematical and lazy but, no matter, all of the union people will be paid and improved … right up until their state falls on its financial ass.

Film at 11:00PM if they are non-union.

no I didn’t vote in the primary but I didn’t have anyone to get super excited about – we talked about it here I think – but I could’ve if I wanted to

I think by 2012 what will happen is… our current douchebag governor championed a ballot measure I think what mandates open primaries and it won so we’ll just have a big list of douchebags and the top two get to go to the general

  14. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

So, SEIU maintains the voting machines…

    But…don’t you dare do this.

Wake me up when we start shooting.

I wonder if you could wear one of those O! buttons to the polls. He’s not a candidate, after all.

Not going to try it. Touching one of those reduces IQ by about 20 points or so is my guess. Oh wait, I’m confusing correlation with causality. Rambling again, sorry.

  16. no I didn’t vote in the primary but I didn’t have anyone to get super excited about…

Just as we go to war with the military we have, we go to the polls with the candidates we have. Someone on the ballot is going to be the winner, so hold you nose and pick it. The winner, I mean.

  18. occasional Redd Foxx viewer says:

Ric, I grew up in Houston in a 60s Republican household, which meant it was more classically liberal and less racist and corrupt than the good ole boy Democrats of pre early 70s TX Democrats who then suddenly found religion (and big votes) in identity group grievance. Race capture thereonafter was added to the ballot stuffing, lying, cheating ethos of the TX Democratic machine.

That said, not all TX Republicans have been uncorrupted and tolerable; in fact, they became fundamentalist intolerable for awhile to rake in the votes and the dough, with, perhaps, some true reactionary believers. Some of us gladly hold our noses to vote for certain TX Rs these days, because the Ds as a party would castigate even our Alamo heroes as racist, xenophobic would-be FOX viewers.

Voting machines- ripe for picking. We all knew that, but ‘misunderestimated’ the Degree of institutionally entrencheD perfiDy.

  19. Ric Locke says:

oRFv — preach it, brother! :-)

“Fundamentalist intolerable” is mixed grammar, but I understand what you mean and agree without a struggle. If we can’t figure out how to keep the nose-in-crotches “social cons” at least down to a dull roar, the whole mission’s a bust anyway.

  24. winston smith says:

I should have been clearer, he couldn’t vote in the primary.

  25. happyfeet says:

that makes no sense Mr. LTC … I didn’t like the choices in the primary cause all the Team R ones what ran were douchebags… so then I complained that the Senate winner was a douchebag McCain whore… a douchebag McCain whore who I’ll vote for I decided cause of I think voting against Boxer sorta Sends A Message.

But voting for Meg doesn’t I don’t think. Send A Message. So I won’t vote in that race. But I’ll vote for all the propositions except I’m stuck on one.

There’s this one about changing the number of votes to pass a budget to a majority from 2/3. I’m leaning towards voting for it I’m just scared what will happen if it passes.

  29. Carin says:

Happy, jerry Brown is the fucking final nail the coffin of California. Boxer, Brown, etc. That state is doomed.

And, you think the rest of tha nation is going to want to aid that state in any way when they go completely belly up?

Even Michigan is looking like it’s finally gotten come good sense. Recent poll newz.

Will we get rid of John Dingell? Well, that’s a tough one. But, OMG, I would be so freakin happy, but he’s got Ann Arbor pulling for him.
