Elimination of 4th Amendment Protections Part of Health Bill [Dan Collins]

That’s part of the cost of “high-quality, affordable health care”. But don’t worry, I don’t think the NSA will be in charge of it. As long as the administration and the Congress are undertaking such sweeping reforms, I think that it’s high time that we include a citizen’s right to high-quality, affordable legal representation.

This just doesn’t go far enough, in my view.

    You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney present during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. Do you understand these rights?

    Hmm.. Nope. Doesn’t say a darn thing about the quality of the representation. You don’t suppose they knew??

    But ggguuuuuuuyyyyyyssss…. we said it was OK for the government to listen to overseas phone calls, how can we possibly say it’s not OK to raid physicians offices without a warrant?!
