Falling gas prices worry environmentalists, Obama

The damned market, it just keeps getting in the way of progress! Which is why we must figure out ways to kill it.

WE OWE IT TO OURSELVES TO SUFFER! BECAUSE SUFFERING IS WHAT TELLS US THINGS ARE GETTING BETTER!

“”Oil prices go up, gas prices at the pump go up, everybody goes into a flurry of activity. And then the prices go back down and suddenly we act like it’s not important,” he said during a television interview. “As a consequence, we never make any progress.”"

Darn, I’m sorry, this whole time I thought progress was low priced goods and a growing economy bringing prosperity to more and more people.

    My bad.

Jesus, how about just drilling for our own damned oil so this won’t actually ever be a problem again?

In the interim, we can work on the miracle power source of the future (or just, ya know, using nukes which we bloody invented) while enjoying all the benefits of cheap, plentiful, oil now instead of suffering because our ‘betters’ think its good for our souls (not they believe in such things).

You know of course, that O! and his henchmen environmentalist allies are rubbing their hands together in glee. Soon they;ll put an extra tax load on gas in order to push the price back to 3-4 dollars. And, though the oil price won’t be high enough to economically justiify any new offshore or shale formation drilling, they’ll still recognize their tax windfall and crush the oil companies profits at the same time…

Overall, a win-win for the insects before people and AGW crowd…

For the rest if us; not si much…

If it wasn’t for Baracky’s damn media the peons all might have some awareness that we might not be in our current imbroglio if we could go and get those $trillions of barrels of oil on the coasts and up in Palinland. The tyranny of omission.

Not to worry, Bam, we won’t have any place to go even if the gas were free.

If we need energy, we can get some of what we need by boiling down all of the journalists and burning the fat that resides between their ears.

Obama doesn’t care about the working family. Man, it felt good to type that.

Of course the Obama-Lamma-Ding-Dongs will shriek that they are caring about working Families by SAVING THE PLANET!!eleventy!!11 while trying to sidestep the notion that their notion of SAVING THE PLANET will result in some serious economic pain for said working families.

This was as sadly predictable as Excitable Andy’s next breakdown and Kos’s 22″ inseam.

Why can’t they ever just say there was a bubble in the oil market what broke? That’s what happened. Prices became unreflective of reality and bam the bottom fell out. They’re highly selective about what bubbles they will acknowledge, our dirty socialist press.

Gee I can’t help but notice that there is s distinct paucity of righteous bleating about oil speculators these days. Blame object du jour no more, they are.

Is it the speculators who will get the credit for falling prices? I think not. Why ruin a perfectly good potential blame puppy.

Doing something to actually head off a potential crisis is not nearly as headline worthy as thundering accusations when you have a crisis.

  13. Comment by McGehee on 11/21 @ 3:59 pm #

BJ, I think we’re all just hoping they all went broke. Which, if they did, nobody likes to kick a slimy stinking weasel when he’s down.

‘Cause it might make him decide to get up again.

You don’t kick a slimy stinking weasel when he’s down. You just double tap him and be done with it. Quick and efficient…if a bit messy. Personally, I just break their necks and walk away. Saves on the blood spatter.

Low energy prices to “deepen” the recession?? What the fuck? How the hell does one get a job writing about economic matters? Do they draw names from a hat?

  16. Comment by McGehee on 11/22 @ 9:12 am #

How the hell does one get a job writing about economic matters?

My theory is that the “journalism” sector has found a way to quantify stupid, and so they assign “journalists” to whatever beat where their stupidity is most formidable. Thus in order to report on economic matters one needs to believe that the government is the source of all wealth.
