Many Democrats, on the other hand, are all for it — though they are “quite relieved” that they are able to support it through a secret ballot.
The irony would be dazzling, were Democrats capable of recognizing such things.
But then, that would presuppose a recognition of equality that, to progressives, is an ideal — but one that requires some people to be more equal than others, if anything is actually to get done.
For the greater good do they separate themselves from us, you see.
Feeling better, Jeff? You’re on a roll today.
No. I’m actually feeling quite miserable, and will likely stop posting very soon.
Perhaps when the drugs really kick in, I can post something more in keeping with my actual personality — which has nothing in it that predisposes me toward political obsession.
For instance, how many people know that I love long, bucolic walks through the ghetto?

Well, you will have more of that soon, with shakedowns by union goons to boot.
You have an odd sense of humor, or are whacked out on cold medicine, or both.
I think the irony is richer when you consider all of the people that are told “vote for the people that will strengthen our unions.” Then these same people are rewarded with for their obedience with a decrease in their right.
“See, we have to violate your rights in order to protect your rights. So, if you would just execute your rights here, we can back to violating your rights over there. Thanks.”
That is from instructions, in the cookbook, on how to crack the eggs, to make the wonderful diversity sprinkled omelet we all desire.
Hope springs eternal that the recipe will work if we just find the bestest smartest chef this time around.
The funniest thing I’ve seen all week has been the car company’s CEOs up on the hill getting yelled at by Democratic Congressmen for having the gall to ask for money. I mean, that’s not the funny part, the funny part is that the Congress idiots are so transparent. They are going to pass a “bailout” because the UAW wants a bailout.
Personally, I think GM deserves to go under. I think they will eventually anyway, Cadillac and Corvette will survive, of course, owned by TaTa. Cerberus should quit begging and declare bankruptcy now and sell everything but Jeep, the Sprint van and Ram trucks at fire sale prices. Ford will be OK. Mercury will go away, and so will my beloved Volvo cars unless they get picked up by VW, but Ford will live to see another day.
Card check is more about getting their hands on some Wal-Mar money. They’ve helped killed the automakers, time to move on to greener pastures.
I re-watched “Animal Farm” last night.
Ol’ Georgie was a prophet.
For the greater good do they separate themselves from us, you see.
The irony is that this is how politics works. This is all of what politics is about. Politics isn’t the art of the possible, it’s the art of what must we surrender for the collective good. The difference lies entirely in where we draw that line.
This Exaggeration of the Day is brought to you by the letters N,O, and the number 2.
You don’t think the UAW’s eyeing all those Toyota, Honda, and VW plants?
Sure they are Rob, but also believe T, H, and VW will be bugging out if the going gets too pricy/rough. I’m not so sure about Wal-Mart et al.
Oh, I’m sure they are, completely oblivious to the fact that Toyota, Honda, et al could very easily pack up and move to Mexico.
