“Final Rove electoral map sees large Obama win over McCain” [UPDATED]

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, Age of Aquarius…

According to the research of compiled state polls by Karl Rove & Co., the hypothetical electoral college numbers suggest an Obama win over the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin of 338 electoral votes to 200.

Aquarius!

Aquarius…!

Somewhere, the Fifth Dimension and the Hillside singers are dusting off their ponchos, and Cher is off to Sweden to have her vagina re-tightened.

Of course, on the glass half full side, I wouldn’t bang any Obamamamas with Professor Caric’s withered gerkin — so I don’t think I’ll be missing much from the whole neo-free love movement.

Well. Except for the smell. Because you just can’t hide that.

  2. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

States that Rove has listed for Obama that will go McCain:

    Iowa
    Ohio
    Nevada
    Florida
    Virginia

States that Rove has for Obama that could go McCain:

    Pennsylvania
    New Hampshire
    Colorado
    New Mexico

    Long-shots for McCain:

    Minnesota
    Michigan

I think McCain gets at least one of Maine’s separable electoral votes, as well.

Well, shit it gets even worse. I just finished off a bottle of 10 year old Laphroig (mmmm…the peaty stuff) and now all that I have left is one fourth of a bottle of Isle of Jura. That shit is whack, yo. Oh well, time to stock up.

  10. dre says:

    Yea “The Whiskey Rebellion Now”!

  11. cynn says:

Agreed — the blogs and mainstream press are extremely plaid. Better than chintz, but nevertheless.

  12. J. Peden says:

Cher is off to Sweden to have her vagina re-tightened.

Ha, so that’s her little secret to life after love, eh.

I’m already getting my money’s worth.

  13. Yeah and Kerry was gonna win according to the electoral map last time out. Heh…

  14. Obstreperous Infidel says:

Dre, in this case, it’s the Whisky rebellion. The Scottish are alright by me. Well, as long as they keep supplying me with single malt goodness.

  15. Slartibartfast says:

Today I saw a guy drive by the South Orlando Obama headquarters, whose lawn was littered with “Obama” and “Change” sign, and hurl a handful of quarters into the thicket of Change signs through his sunroof window.

    Made me smile, that did.

  16. Jeff G. says:

    I don’t think so, Christopher.

But whatever. I like potatoes. And toilet paper is overrated.

  17. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

The toilet paper would interfere with using your own feces as fertilizer for a subsistence-level potato patch, anyway.

So, we’ll be better off without it.

  18. cynn says:

Sincere question: What is really at stake for you guys if Obama wins? I personally can’t see him overhauling much of society, given the possible economic collapse. So where does that leave him, since so much of your grievances hinge on economic issues?

  19. guinsPen says:

So we’ll need buttons or something so we know who’s a lefty or a righty, then.

  20. cynn says:

What do you mean by that?

  21. happyfeet says:

    Where is buttons anyway?

  22. happyfeet says:

Potatoes! You know who do amazing potato thingers? Norwegian girls.

  23. guinsPen says:

    Sorry, Cynn.

    I was following-on to SBP’s comment.

  24. guinsPen says:

As far as shaking hands, and whatnot.

  25. Warren Bonesteel says:

Quit whining. McCain wins with 300 EV’s.

Just shut up and go vote. Grab that slacker next door and take him with ya.

Last time, Zogby called it for Kerry with over 300 EV’s. Real Clear Politics? Where’d they have Bush/Kerry in 2004? Do ya remember? I’ll give ya a hint: Bush wasn’t supposed to win.

Shut up, quit yer bitchin’ and moanin’ and groanin’ …and get off yer whiney little ass and go vote.

Besides. Rush’s ‘Operation Chaos’ screwed up the pollsters this year.

I dunno wtf Rove thinks he’s up to, anyway. Suppressing the Obama vote, mebbe…

  26. lee says:

cynn, are you that chick from 50 First Dates?

Every morning you awake with a freshly scrubbed memory?

  27. happyfeet says:

Yes. McCain wins. Baracky loses. I have seen it.

  28. happyfeet says:

Come Wednesday we can all begin a great national conversation on mitigating if not solving the heartbreak of wrap rage.

  29. cynn says:

Lee, you are funny as hell and I’ve already voted. Not that it counts. If you were real I’d love to get with your replicant.

  30. Rob Crawford says:

What is really at stake for you guys if Obama wins?

A nation conceived in liberty, dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. The idea of a society of equal opportunity, rather than equal outcome.

Ever more of the limited time I have on this planet sucked away to enrich government bureaucrats under the guise of “helping the needy”.

The silencing of a large portion of the population’s political views under the guise of “fairness” and/or “local control”.

The abandonment of the progress we’ve made against the jihadis. The abandonment of allies such as Colombia. The emboldening of enemies such as Iran and Venezuela.

The empowerment of people such as those behind the “ResLife” program at the University of Delaware.

  31. lee says:

If you were real I’d love to get with your replicant.

We’re both real cynn, but my replicant says you’re already screwed.

  32. cynn says:

    Wouldn’t be the first time!

  33. JimK says:

Rove, wasn’t he the guy that predicted that the Republicans would hold the House and Senate in 2006?

  34. I don’t think so, Christopher.

Gallup and several other major agencies had Kerry winning, gathering as many 311 electoral college votes just before the election. Several major polls had Kerry up right before the election. They were wrong. Why on earth everyone can see the bias in the reporting but think polls are the voice of the living God I do not understand. It’s some kind of mental illness with political pundits.

Bradley Effect. Obama Girl Effect. Say it after me. And watch.

  35. geoffb says:

What is “wrap rage”? Does it have anything to do with Christmas presents?

  36. happyfeet says:

Mr. Instapundit did a post on it. It’s one of his leiter motifs really. Badly packaged thingers. I’m just grumpy cause there are some other badly packaged thingers what we need to be more concerned with just right now I think.

  37. geoffb says:

    Thanks hf.

  38. bmeuppls says:

Rove did this based on the averages of the available polls… it’s not based on any Rovian brilliance from the past.

  39. Jeff G. says:

I saw a link somewhere yesterday that showed that the polls weren’t favoring Kerry in ’04. Not sure where, though. Some law chat board or some such.

  40. well, there’s RealClearPolitics, here

  41. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

The polls this year are total garbage.

Iowahawk’s take is well worth reading.

  42. Warren Bonesteel says:

Pollsters are presuming that Dem turn-out will be 3% to 8% higher than it was in 2006. No hard numbers, to speak of, just a presumption.

One of those presumptions was based upon the number of people who were newly registered Dems during the primaries. That was due in no small part to Rush’s “Operation Chaos.” A significant percentage of Rush listeners registered as Dems in order to vote against Obama in the primaries. The pollsters took those new Dem registrations and used them in their models, skewing the poll results even further than they normally do.

If Obama isn’t up by at least ten points in any of the polls, he won’t win. He can’t win. Plus, almost every report on the ‘undecideds’ has them ‘leaning’ McCain by anything from 2-1 to 4-1.

  43. Slartibartfast says:

I personally can’t see him overhauling much of society, given the possible economic collapse.

So…you’re saying Obama won’t in fact be able to effect the Change that he’s advertising? How disappointing.

  44. J. Peden says:

I’ve heard about the large preponderance of early dem voters vs repub and assumed it was just because more repubs tend to have jobs, but then also about a Fox Poll which claimed the early voters polled totalled about equal for each candidate. If so, down goes Obama – unless those “chaos” voters are coming out in droves early, which would be just like them, the cheaters!

  45. BJTexs says:

I have no idea what this means but I got up early this morning and arrived at my local polling place right at 7:00AM. There were already over 150 people in line so I’ll have to go back. Chester County, PA is pretty solidly Republican.

Again, no idea what it means.

  46. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

I’m taking the morning off — gonna try to hit the polls shortly after 9:00 to avoid the before-work crowd.

  47. pdbuttons says:
