Palin dodges the press yet again

Only this time, her serial avoidance was particularly nefarious inasmuch as she used a non-avoidance technique to give lie to the fact that she simply will not face the press — no matter how much she faces the press. Really, can we afford to have someone so uncommitted to her campaign’s avoidance strategy that she flouts her non-avoidance avoidance just a heartbeat away from the Presidency?

From NJ’s Hotline:

Sarah Palin’s Ground Zero Q and A — per CNN’s Peter Hamby […]

PALIN: Every American student needs to come through this area so that, especially this younger generation of Americans is, to be in a position of never forgetting what happened here and never repeating, never allowing a repeat of what happened here. I wish every American would come through here. I wish every world leader would come through here, and understand what it is that took place here and more importantly how America came together and united to commit to never allowing this to happen again. And just to hear and from and see these good New Yorkers who are rebuilding not just this are but helping to rebuild america has been very, very inspiring and encouraging. These are the good americans who are committed to peace and security and its been an absolute honor getting to meet these folks today.

CNN: On the topic of never letting this happen again, do you agree with the way the Bush administration has handled the war on terrorism, is there anything you would do differently?

A: I agree with the Bush administration that we take the fight to them. We never again let them come onto our soil and try to destroy not only our democracy, but communities like the community of New York. Never again. So yes, I do agree with taking the fight to the terrorists and stopping them over there.

POLITICO: Do you think our presence in Iraq and Afghan[istan] and our continued presence there is inflaming Islamic extremists?

A: I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security of our nation, again, because the mission is to take the fight over there. do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here, and that was some destruction. Terrible destruction on that day. But since september 11, Americans uniting and rebuilding and committing to never letting that happen again.

POLITICO: Do you support the reelection bids of embattled Alaska Republicans, Rep. Don Young and Sen. Ted Stevens?

A: Ted Stevens trial started a couple days ago. We’ll see where that goes.

POLITICO: Are you gong to vote for them?

[no answer.]

JERSEY JOURNAL: What do you think of bailout package before congress?

A: I don’t support that until the provisions that Sen. McCain has offered are implemented in Paulson’s proposals.

Now if only someone could pin a guy, like, say, Senator Obama down on such things, we might begin getting somewhere.

Q: Do you believe that this machine could be helpful in changing the government?

    A: Changing the government…

A: Making it more responsive to the needs of the people?

A: I don’t know what it is. What does it do?

    Q: Well, look at it.

    [black square]

    A: It offers no clues.

    Q: It has a certain…reticence.

    A: I don’t know what it does.

Q: A lack of confidence in the machine?

  2. quellcrist falconer says:

    lol simps
    the Palin bounce is over.
shes free to talk to media now.

  3. A fine scotch says:

She’s qualified! She can be President now!

  4. quellcrist falconer says:

Team McCain milked every drop of IQ-bait out of the culture wars it could.
    now Sarah is off-muzzle.

    lol
the debate is on, according to everyone but Septugenarian Guy.
Jeff, is he really foolish enough to give O 90 minnits of free airtime with a national audience?

    hahahahaha

  5. Darleen says:

    Kate Mengele, you ignorant slut.

  6. A fine scotch says:

Oh, and to answer my question in the other thread (to which Jeff linked), apparently the nishi-bot is built with an auto-reprogram feature.

  7. Darleen says:

BTW, Alcee Hastings thinks Sarah Palin is a kind of Nazi.

  8. quellcrist falconer says:

    nope, A Fine.
I said press confs were neccessary, not sufficent.
that is mathspk for having-a-press-conference is the basic minimum necessary, but still insufficient for qualling her.
at least now that she’s off-muzzle we can find out what she stands for.
    maybe

  9. A fine scotch says:

I’m curious as to why examining her executive record is a bad indicator of what she stands for, but, then again, I am a simp, two-digit, cudlip from fly-ova countree.

  10. cranky-d says:

Please don’t address the autobots, it increases their output tenfold. Thank you.

  11. quellcrist falconer says:

Jeff u have to be mustering massive denial right now.
    lol.

    i disagree with Alcee Hastings.
i think Palin is used tissue.

  12. Kirk says:

You know Nishi, if you would assimilate and learn the language I’d actually bother to read what you have to say. To most of us here you might as well be yammering in a closet somewhere.

  13. quellcrist falconer says:

A fine, for people that read that is a fine way to judge.
but most people are going to want to see her say it.
until this point, Palin has been fleeing any opportunity to so.
which is why i question her corruption warrior, reformist history.

she seems profoundly nonconfrontational and pedestrian to me.

  14. Jeffersonian says:

BTW, Alcee Hastings thinks Sarah Palin is a kind of Nazi.

If so, Nish would be lapping her up like Portia de Rossi.

  15. Rob Crawford says:

Ms. Rational-and-Hyperintelligent seems quite prone to turning her opinions into non-falsifiable, almost religious beliefs.

  16. quellcrist falconer says:

but maybe team mccain has been holding her back.
    we shall see i guess.

  17. Rob Crawford says:

A fine, for people that read that is a fine way to judge.

Oh! That’s why you’ve been having problems with it!

  18. Rob Crawford says:

which is why i question her corruption warrior, reformist history.

You “question” it because comparing her record to Obama’s exposes him for the corrupt, ass-licking opportunist he is.

  19. Darleen says:

    above Kate’s paygrade.

  20. quellcrist falconer says:

    but below my IQgrade
    ;)

  21. Abe Froman says:

“A fine, for people that read that is a fine way to judge.
but most people are going to want to see her say it.”

Good point Nishi. Not everyone paints quite the vivid picture of who they are in transcription that you do.

  22. maggie katzen says:

I dunno… was she behind a podium? did it have her own Presidential looking seal?

  23. quellcrist falconer says:

Iraq had not a thing to do with 9/11.

  25. dre says:

Moose Hunter isn’t fit b/c she doesn’t have her own gold coins.

  26. Jeffersonian says:

Iraq had not a thing to do with 9/11.

911 was all about Iraq, even though Saddam wasn’t operationally involved.

  27. maggie katzen says:

um, okay, thanks for that, David.

  28. Darleen says:

    David

Germany had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor.

  29. A fine scotch says:

    cranky-d,

Sorry. Won’t happen again as long as you never again refer to the idiotic commenters on this site as the coolest fictional robots man has ever known.

  30. Rob Crawford says:

Germany had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor.

Neither did French North Africa, but that’s who got invaded first.

  31. BJTexs says:

    Two Questions to ponder:

    1) Does Kate think the election is like tomorrow with this “Palin is used up” idiocy? Last I checked she has about 40 days left to make an impact, good or ill. That’s a veritable lifetime in politics. Must be the transcendent ADHD.

    2) Is “David” the designated name for discerning drive by trolls these days?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  32. Roland THTG says:

Iraq had not a thing to do with 9/11.

You just keep on thinking there, David. Obviously, you are good at it.

  33. I here McCain is going to call for a do-over on VP picks and won’t debate until Obama agress.

  34. Mikey NTH says:

Please do not feed the trols; they are not worthy of your time or effort – no matter how minimal.

  35. happyfeet says:

I wonder if Governor Palin has ever had any tasty enchiladas? I bet if you asked her green or red sauce she would be … stymied. But Baracky would probably be a lot stymied too now that I think about it. So there’s that.

  36. Topsecretk9 says:

WOW, I’m really impressed with the keen, pressing issue oriented questions The Politico posed. Thank goodness for their substantive inquiry of such an important issue for voters. /sarcasm off

  37. mojo says:

Germany had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor.

Other than declaring war on us after we declared war on Japan due to Pearl Harbor, no.

Iraq had the really, really bright idea that if they could convince the west that they had, y’know, “WMDs”, we wouldn’t dare attack them in accordance with the UN’s resolutions. How’d that work out for ’em? Let’s go to the tape:

    Saddam Hussein: “URK!”

  38. Roland THTG says:

Wasn’t Stimee on The Little Rascals?

    RACIST!

  39. happyfeet says:

Moose fajitas sound tasty. Probably not as much after lunch but right now they do.

  40. TaiChiWawa says:

I wonder if Governor Palin has ever had any tasty enchiladas?

    Elbridge Gerry: What’s an enchilada?
    Daniel Tompkins: What’s an enchilada?
Richard Johnson: No, but I will if you vote for me.
    George Dallas: I didn’t swallow.
William King: Get away from me or I’ll have you arrested.
Henry Wilson: Yes, but I threw it out cause it had green stuff on it.
Thomas Hendricks: Do you know who you’re talking to?
Garret Hobart: Once when I was young and foolish.
Charles Fairbanks: Where’s the bar in this joint?

  41. JD says:

The nishit monster is kind of like Baracky insofar as its words are meaningless once spoken.

  42. JD says:

David – Thank you for enlightening us. And proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that you should be forced to rent oxygen.

  43. Mikey NTH says:

Please do not feed the trolls. If you do they won’t leave and will have to be put down.

  44. cranky-d says:

    @29

My apologies for denigrating the autobots through association. I am chastised.

  45. Log Cabin says:

    Exactly Mikey!
It’s not about teh debate… It’s about ATTENTION!

  46. cranky-d says:

Please do not feed the trolls. If you do they won’t leave and will have to be put down.

Unfortunately, much like the mythical Phoenix, a new troll will arise from the ashes of the old. No site this large is without trolls for long. Trolls cannot resist a troll vacuum.

  47. JD says:

Mikey NTH – Will the troll be put down, or the person feeding the troll? I just need to be clear on this.

  48. SDN says:

Actually, guys, some of the best Mexican food I ever had was in Anchorage AK in 1995. What made it even better was that I had spent the preceding two weeks in San Diego, and all the good Mexican cooks must have been rounded up by INS because we never saw them.

  49. Bob Reed says:

    Hmmmmmm…

    A devilishly clever gambit…

The don’t call her Sarah’Cuda for nothing !

  50. dre says:

I’m thinking a little moose with maybe some pierogies w/onions.

  51. Obstreperous Infidel says:

“Unfortunately, much like the mythical Phoenix, a new troll will arise from the ashes of the old. No site this large is without trolls for long. Trolls cannot resist a troll vacuum.”

This is true, but this particular griefing troll has definitely outlived whatever usefulness she ever had. Time for her to go find daddy and reconcile, I think.

  52. Victor. says:

Obama is just a modern adaptation of George Jefferson. America can see this when he walks, which is why the media won’t show Obama walking very much- it’s too ethnic.

The whole “arm swinging thing” just aint presidential.

    Weezie!

  53. Education Guy says:

I would try a moose enchilada if one was offered to me. I saw some Moose on a trip to Mt. Rainer last week, but didn’t try to shoot them. It wasn’t that sort of trip.

  54. cranky-d says:

Moose is pretty good eating. I’ve had it in chili and spaghetti sauce, and in both cases it was satisfying.

  55. Victor. says:

Why does the media never show Obama while he apes the strut of gangster rappers and small time hoods?

I think the media is racist, they don’t want American to think he is more NBA than MBA.

  56. sashal says:

    More Palin, maybe even better/worse:

“COURIC: You’ve cited Alaska’s proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land– boundary that we have with– Canada. It– it’s funny that a comment like that was– kind of made to– cari– I don’t know, you know? Reporters–

    COURIC: Mock?

PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that’s the word, yeah.

COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our– our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They’re in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia–

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We– we do– it’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border. It is– from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to– to our state.”

    My head hurts.

  57. sashal says:

This one has to be seen to be believed.

The question was provocative, but hardly unexpected given recent events. Couric asked Palin, “Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? Allow them to spend more, and put more money into the economy, instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?”

Palin responded, “That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Um, helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and getting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade — we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as, uh, competitive, um, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.”

I’m sorry, what? Did she even hear the question?

And if you watch the clip, you might notice that Palin was intermittently referring to notes. In other words, this is the kind of response she offers on a question about the Wall Street bailout with help.

    Enjoy.

  58. Sdferr says:

I would almost say I’m glad to hear that, sashal, not because your head should hurt, but because if it didn’t, I be hard pressed to explain the reason why.

  59. Log Cabin says:

The liberal media (redundant, I know!) is now trying to set Sarah in a lose-lose trap. She must allow them complete access all the way down to the cellular level, else she is ‘dodging’ them and the campaign is ‘hiding’ her. Because she is so ‘unqualified’, don’t you know. If she allows them complete access, they find troubling things with her record or family or even with nouns or verbs she may use. Once these troubles are debunked, they have already moved on to the next possible problem.

Meanwhile, they find any porridge Obamalocks sets before them “just-right” every time! No checking ever necessary.

  60. Victor. says:

You can always tell when Obama is upset, his big ears become flush with blood and turn red.

Look for it in the debates. Under tough questioning, Obama’s ears start to burn.

  61. Thursday afternoon links…

I would guess her notes didn’t cover such a profoundly stupid question, perhaps her handlers were unfamiliar with Couric.

  63. Darleen says:

  64. B Moe says:

Look for it in the debates. Under tough questioning…

    That was a joke, right?

  65. sashal says:

I am starting to feel sorry for Palin. Her prose makes GW look like Winston Churchill. Katie did not even ask her a hard question. When Putin raises his head he will attack via Alaska and there are two borders…My lord….

  66. McGehee says:

So, the Republican vice-presidential nominee sometimes stammers a bit when answering questions extemperaneously, and this is a reason to vote instead for the Democrats’ presidential nominee who can’t say “Good morning” without a teleprompter.

    Got it.

  67. TaiChiWawa says:

    Al Gore: I invented enchiladas.

So, the Republican vice-presidential nominee sometimes stammers a bit when answering questions extemperaneously, and this is a reason to vote instead for the Democrats’ presidential nominee who can’t say “Good morning” without a teleprompter.

    Pretty much.

Oh, and she doesn’t write her own speeches, either.

  69. Darleen says:

    B Moe

I disgree that it was stupid question. It was a profoundly dishonest question.

  70. Topsecretk9 says:

Thanks for the video link Darleen. Did you notice how she leaned into (stepped closer) the reporter’s question?

Yeah, that’s a person afraid of questions. /sarcasm off

  71. JD says:

I am with Darleen on this one. Why settle for dumb when mendoucheous is more appropriate?

  72. B Moe says:

With Couric stupidity is always my default setting, but you are probably right.

  73. Victor. says:

    News Flash….

Today Senator Barack Obama restated his commitment to remain the most agreeable candidate in history. “I, uh, have stated-uhm- from the very beginning of this campaign, uh, 6 years ago, that my guiding principle was to remain agreeable to America, and hum.. I agree in principle to the agreement that Americans are expecting , uh, the politicians to start agreeing… and UHM… that’s why this bailout plan is important” , Obama said to throngs of supporters and press in between bites of his chicken sandwich during lunch at the Campaign head quarters.

I bet Sandra Bernhard has eaten lots of enchiladas and tortilleras, when she’s not calling for the gang rape of a Vice Presidential candidate.
I believe this whole withholding of access to Gov Palin was just part of McCain’s psy-ops against the libnuts in the media. Another well done game plan Sen. McCain.

  75. syn says:

“Why isn’t it better, Governor Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries? Allow them to spend more, and put more money into the economy, instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?”

Naturally anal-retentive couric forget about the $300 trillion bailout a couple of months ago, and what about the stimulus check sent out just before that bailout?

And how can couric live with herself for encouraging neighbors to steal from one another into Les Miserables as couric and her Liberal friends act like they’re king and queens for France wining and dining on champagne and cavier while entertaining on obnoxiously condescending Tiny Fey?

The some point Americans will have had enough of the bloated royality we are suffering under.

  76. syn says:

” this is a reason to vote instead for the Democrats’ presidential nominee who can’t say “Good morning” without a teleprompter.”

Now this is comedy gold. Funniest thing I have read in a long time. Well done.

  77. cynn says:

While I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other about Palin, she completely dodged the question about inflaming Islamic sentiment. Too bad; I would have liked to know what she thought.

  78. B Moe says:

She said she didn’t care, cynn.

Corky the Retard is above your “IQgrade”.

  80. dre says:

“the question about inflaming Islamic sentiment”

Islam is always inflamed dude just the koran

  81. dre says:

    read the koran

  82. Sdferr says:

Do you consider the proposition to be knowable (for its own sake) in any meaningful way, cynn? I mean, other than whatever opinion anyone may have from the get-go, based on a loose association of facts and impressions gained through the poor media environment we live in?

Have you seen or do you know of credible sociological studies that purport to show the probabilities one way or the other? Are the political leaders of the nations from which these Islamic recruits would come speaking out on the issue?

Have you noticed the change of heart vis a vis armed confrontation coming from the Islamic Schools in Saudi Arabia and/or Egypt? It seems to me that our military institutions would be intensely interested in these sorts of questions, under the general heading, “know your enemy” but I haven’t seen any reporting on the subject bruited about.

  83. BRD says:

    Nish,

I am a bit perplexed. You specifically chose as a metric to compare Obama to Palin. Now you appear to have backed away. I agree that it may be necessary, it certainly isn’t a sufficient measure. However, when I asked you if you thought that the experience of the Presidential candidates might be more important than the experience of the Vice-Presidential candidates, you haven’t – as yet – responded.

So, thus far, I can only see that you have one metric – media appearances – which is not, evidently (and reasonably), your most important metric. But as far as the only other metric you’ve cited – experience, you have yet to indicate if you think that the importance of experience in the Presidential candidate is more important than experience in the Vice-Presidential candidate. For that matter, you haven’t even given any indication on whether or not experience is a more important measure than the number of press conferences one holds.

    BRD

  84. Salt Lick says:

she completely dodged the question about inflaming Islamic sentiment. Too bad; I would have liked to know what she thought.

I imagine she thought the question superfluous. After 9/11 we heard the entire Muslim world hated us and how were we going to deal with that? Then we heard that the entire Muslim “street” would rise if we invaded Iraq.

Five years later, lots of Muslims hate AQ worse than us. And we just may have a long term ally in Iraq.

Wasn’t it Obama bin Laden who said “Arabs will always back the strong horse”? Looks like he was right.

  85. Darleen says:

she completely dodged the question about inflaming Islamic sentiment

Maybe because that is as dishonest a question as Couric’s. Maybe because she recognized it as part and parcel of the “What did we evil Americans do to make those poor misguided Islamists attack us?” and was really out of place at Ground Zero? Or did you not see where she was speaking from?

  86. quellcrist falconer says:

sashal, that is what is known as a “pageant answer” in this country.
a beauty pageant answer stuffed with sloppy buzzwords and devoid of meaning.

im going “dark” for a while.
it turns out i have ardolino disease.

    fare thee well, yeomanfarmers.
    i’ll miss u feets.
    ;)

  87. cynn says:

Well then why didn’t she just say she thought the question was irrelevant instead of drifting into a tangential reply. It makes her either seem wilfully unresponsive or unbright.

  88. BJTexs says:

The question of “inflaming Islamic sentiment” is a two edged sword.

Certainly it had been shown that actions deemed “provocative” by the more radicalized elements of Salafi and Shiite Islam become “grist for the mill” and spark the oh so predictable rioting and burnings. The question of that aspect is irrelevant because free peoples ought to be able to criticize or even satirize each other without fear of retribution beyond a shouted response.

The more important (and less disingenuous) question would be “Do our actions in the Middle East cause more Muslims to dedicate themselves to radicalized jihad?”

The answer, in the long term, is no. Bin Laden himself said that the greatest recruitment tool in actual numbers were the successful 9/11 attacks. Jihadists aren’t that much different than other organizations; nothing inspires like success. Fatwas and outrage may provide a foundation of theological justice but everybody, even those dreaming of virgins, milk and honey, want to be a part of a winning team achieving measurable successes.

Thus recruitment is drastically cut when jihadists die in large numbers without meaningful results. Some are content to continue to beat the drum of the futility in Iraq but they tend to be entangled in the socio-economic issues and forget history and strategy. Jihadists have thrived when when they win. The last seven years have been a slowly accelerating loser for the splodey-dopes. The clear defeat in Iraq and Al Qaeda’s retreat from same is a terrible blow to both their credibility and, as a result, their ability to effectively recruit beyond mind numbed stepford freaks.

This is further illustrated by the tremendous hit that their leadership has taken in the past seven years. Those that are on the front lines of the fight develop a kind of jihadist rock star status with the potential splodey-dopes. As these leaders are picked off or captured the corresponding let down is meaningful. We can see this reflected in the increasingly amateurish attempts at international terrorism. Iraq and Afghanistan don’t just suck up our economic resources; they also have robbed the jihadists of leadership, money, material and a sizable chunk of their filthy lucre.

Less success and less leaders leads to less attacks, increasingly incompetent tries and a decided lessening of the desire to be martyred especially if you have the sort of brain that might allow you to work as a civil engineer rather than live in moldy caves or stone age villages, constantly changing locations with one eye desperately searching the sky for funny shaped drones that carry death under their bellies.

    Hellooooo, Hellfire!

I’ve always felt that the charge of “creating terrorists” was a fraud perpetuated by a sublime ignorance of the enemy.

  89. Darleen says:

Kate Mengele, shut up you ignorant cunt.

(I realize using “slut” is incorrect seeing as Kate is vaginophobic.)

  90. sashal says:

Yep. Palin the “Train wreck” or more like a train derailing on a bridge, tumbling a thousand feet into a canyon and landing on a pile of old dynamite and gas drums. And then a jumbo jet crashed into the flaming wreckage. Followed by an earthquake that caused the whole mess to slide off a cliff into the sea, where the few miraculous survivors were eaten by sharks.

Which is why there must never be a place where jihadists can find sanctuary, such as the Northwest Frontier. At some point Pakistan and the US, along with Afghanistan, are going to have to come to a conclusion about this. The tribes people in that region take their commitment to “guests” very seriously but history has shown that if their “guests” are the cause of enough survival anxiety, they will back away from protecting them. Nothing else in the history of that region has ever shown a different result.

I don’t know what that solution is but it is most definitely not either withdrawing completely or simply sitting still and allowing sanctuaries to feed fighters into Afghanistan while protecting the leadership and the jihadist’s material.

  96. cynn says:

No need to jump down my throat people. This is a comment thread and I was just um, commenting. By the way, you’re not doing Palin any favors by defending her like she’s some kind of shrinking violet.

  97. BRD says:

    Cynn,

The question is an interesting one, but one that, as you might guess, is really not a very good short, standalone answer question. I think it would have been good to hear her answer, but like a lot of things, I think a valuable answer would involve a fair amount of nuance.

One thing I wonder about is the extent to which it matters. A subsidiary question is whether or not the same logic does/would/should be applied to western countries following terrorist attacks. If attacking Iraq was supposed to inflame the Arab world to fight against the US, was 9/11 a sufficient rallying cry to elicit a meaningful response in the West? Cursory evidence suggests that while it will elicit a response, the response is not necessarily going to be sustained or particularly intense.

Or, given the examples of World War II, such an inflammation of sentiment might just be an unavoidable consequence of the pursuit of victory.

The $700,000,000,000.00 bailout to the credit markets allows food to be grown and distributed, fuel to be refined and reach stations, construction equipment to be made to build/repair the roads, power plants to be built and sent, natural gas to be acquired and stored for home heating, and so on.

It is interconnected, like every part of a human body is, so that if one part is injured or ailing, the effect is felt everywhere, even in places you wouldn’t think of.

  101. Mikey NTH says:

With regard to ‘inflaming Islam’, it seems that seven years of this should be enough evidence to conclude that some sections of Islam are perpetually inflamed no matter what is done short of our conversion or suicide. With that in mind, it is foolish to take that into account when making a decision because those sections will never be calmed – short of conversion or suicide.

    Did Palin articulate it well?
Absolutely not, but if Putin wants to create military trouble the old fashioned way, it runs through Alaskan airspace.
So she mashed it up. Big deal.
She’s honest and genuine even in her stumbles. Obama and Biden are the opposite.

With regard to ‘inflaming Islam’, it seems that seven years of this should be enough evidence to conclude that some sections of Islam are perpetually inflamed no matter what is done short of our conversion or suicide.

It should also be obvious that other, larger sections of Islam are significantly more pragmatic and, as it turns out, just want to have some peace and prosperity. Which is a big part of why we’re winning and al-Qaeda is not. We’re a new sort of strong horse and even Muslims seem to like it.
