Maybe but maybe not. I loath Jesse, but try to put yourself in his shoes. You were marching with MLK when Obama was in diapers. You got MLK’s blood on you when he was assassinated. You know what it’s like to have a raging white redneck scream “Kill those niggers!” and mean it. You know segregation. You struggled and struggled. You even ran for president. And then who comes along and claims the Big Prize — a guy who has absolutely no connection to the history you experienced. When you tell him stories about the old days with MLK, etc, he looks at you through distant, condescending eyes. It’s not his story. His mom was white. His dad was a Kenyan of the Somali tribe. His voice carries none of the words or accents that join Chicago blacks to New Orleans blacks. In reality, he has no real gut understanding of blacks’ struggle for equality in America. And why should he? Affirmative Action and political correctness have carpeted the road with roses for him. Young white people love him.
I wouldn’t rule out Jesse stabbing Obama in the back.

What outcome leaves Jackson in the best position come November 6th? I’d say a Clinton win, followed (at a distance) by a McCain landslide. An Obama win takes money out of his (and his kids) pockets. It’s not just Jackson counting up the loss by any means.

Not a realistic one, no, (he said, while looking towards Fitz with his arm around a weeping Tony Rezko’s shoulders). That just leads to “McCain landslide” – and Obama being shoved right off the stage by Clinton trying for her last shot in ‘12.
The race hustle is just busted if the election is tight, whether Obama wins or loses. That doesn’t mean that it will come to any kind of screeching halt, it just means that “the man is keeping us down” won’t have the resonance needed to boost the poverty pimp’s (or their slumlord buddies’) income. It seems to me that Mr. Jackson is just another opinionated celebrity the media gives an ear to to give credit for the outrageous things he says, which betrays his true feelings, in his actions in regards to issues he feels he is qualified to respond to. Why is the media giving this person the attention they have in his remarks unbecoming of someone who regards himself as a Reverend?
