Walid Phares. At the same time, the Syrians are reaching out to Israel? Can that possibly mean that they’d dash the hopes of the “Palestinians” in exchange for the Golan Heights? Somehow, I don’t find that credible. My suggestion is that US forces might occupy a portion of Syria roughly equivalent in size to Lebanon without a great deal of trouble. Then we can talk.

According to Palestinian Media Watch, the ‘Palestinian’ daily al-Ayyam admitted on May 13 that “the Arabs who became refugees in 1948 were not expelled by Israel but left on their own to facilitate the destruction of Israel…. This plan to leave Israel was initiated by the Arab states fighting Israel, who promised the people they would be able to return to their homes in a few days once Israel was defeated. The article in Al-Ayyam concludes that these Arab states are responsible for the Arab refugee problem.” So why haven’t you read this in the New York Times? Because this is yet another instance of the ‘Palestinians’ telling their ‘people’ one thing in Arabic and the world a different thing in English. In English, the ‘Palestinians’ continue to blame Israel for creating the ‘refugee’ problem. ÂÂ
Kill Boy Assad. He deserves it: he’s a bad guy with multiple priors. Then sit back and watch the infighting. There’s no better fun than watching jackals turn on each other. Better even than monkey knife fights in international waters.
One bad guy definitely gone, loads of other bad guys killed in the succession struggle.
Once a new leader emerges, let him know he’s next if he doesn’t toe the line.
This may sound a little cynical, but I’d prefer this to letting things go until Israel has no option but to glass over Lebanon, Gaza, and the West Bank, among others.
Patrick – Never fear. Baracky will talk them to death.
Hi JD. You know, speaking of Patrick O’Bama, I often wonder what the hell the Republicans are thinking.
If they have an actual strategy for this election, I believe it’s to let Obama play at being President for four years, just as Jimmah Carter did. The idea being that after a thoroughgoing disaster, the electorate will vote Republican, just to get a change.
Thing is, there was a Ronald Reagan to succeed Jimmah Carter. I don’t see anything like him in that collection of venal weasels which constitutes today’s Republican party. Jindal, maybe.
I honestly believe an Obama Presidency would be a disaster for this country.
We can’t afford another Jimmy Carter. Hell we can’t afford another Bill Clinton.
Rusty,
It appears we are about to get another Jimmuh Carter, no matter who wins. Did you hear McCain’s speech the other day about “cap and trade (or, as I prefer to call it: “crap and trade)”? I don’t think he was still in captivity when Jimmuh was president, but he sure talks as thiugh he were. I know that I fondly remember waiting 2 or 3 hours every other day for five gallons of fucking gasoline.
I think the only question left is whether we get a white Jimmuh or a brown Jimmuh. McCain might be a hair better, but he sounds to me like he is going after O!’s leftist supporters. Which, BTW, is suicide for any Republican, “maverick” or not.
I haven’t decided whether I am even going to vote, because every time I get used to the stench, McCain drops another stinking steamer into the political toilet that this “race” has become.
When is he going to wise up and quit kicking conservatives in the balls every other day?
