Those rules are only for the little guys. But this is really really really funny.

Owes back taxes in 1/3 of the states…just what was the I.R.S.’ issue with Wesley Snipes again???

Starting off on the right foot as a wannabe Democrat politician!

I think he’s been grooming the wrong skills. Getting the tax dodge/hidden asset thing comes AFTER getting elected.
Sad to say.
On the other hand, he seems to have abandoned comedy since, oh, 1975 or thereabouts, so who am I to judge? Maybe it’s his “change” politics.

From your link Karl,
Frontrunner? Are you sh***ing me?
If Al Franken takes Norm Coleman’s seat, there should be a concerted effort to make all of Minnessota into the western shore of Lake Superior.

It’s likely, but I’d really prefer you don’t. We here in the 6th district, (one of) the most conservative areas in the state do our part, but it’s tough to overcome the numbers in “the Cities” augmented with “Da Range” (the area where the iron mines used to reign supreme); both of which are guaranteed to go Democrat/Socialist.

Al Franken wants to be a Senator, to write laws. Yet, he doesn’t know simple tax code. We have some very serious issues in this country people. Our three presidential candidates–one lies (and ADMITS it, yet vote for her anyway!), one can’t do basic research on his “pastor,” the last is wishy washy (at best). People, we need real leaders, not paid clowns (who don’t pay their taxes).

I see this news story as an important “wake-up call” to all Minnesotans. I highly recommend that we all check out Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer. Here’s his website…
http://www.JackForSenate.org
Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer is a former foreign policy advisor to Paul Wellstone. Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer was against the war long before it started. In fact, he met with Paul Wellstone prior to his historic vote against the war. In that meeting, he advised Paul Wellstone to vote that way.
Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer is a super-progressive. He’s in favor of the 1-Sky agreement, which is far stronger than Kyoto. Check him out….. http://www.JackForSenate.org

Yeah, but cranky, JNP is not just a regular, run-of-the-mill progressive, but a super, perhaps even super-duper progressive! Like he doesn’t just favor regular gov’t intrusion in the economy, but super-duper intrusion. For The Children.
And he’s got a hyphenated surname!
My cup runneth over.

What-off?

Lydia - Thank you for making me laugh. It sounds like your candidate is the only guy in that race that is worse than Franken, which is no small task.
Comment by Merovign on 4/29 @ 10:56 pm #
I don’t think Lydia was trying to be a troll, just a dumb-ass ignorant shill.
The lost art of “reading before posting” looks down from the starry heights, and grasps its harp just that much tighter, and spits.

I doubt Lydia even posted it. More likely it’s a script.

You can find her posting about this clown on other side (and responding.) She’s just a true believer and prolly found PW because of the Franken mention.

Franken Pays $70,000 in Back Taxes to 17 States
Al Franken accidentally forgot to pay $70,000 in taxes to 17 states over the past five years.
Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken, front-runner in the race to challenge Republican U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, said on Tuesday that he has paid $70,00…

It’s not that he doesn’t KNOW them, it’s that he DOESN’T THINK THEY APPLY TO HIM.

Hey, you’re being too tough on Franken. He’s just doing what he can to show all the ways that he’ll be a good fit in the Senate. He’s got the tax dodge thing down flat; he’s currently working on killing a girlfriend in a DUI accident, and on getting into some crooked land deals, just to allay any fears people might have that he’s not *fully* qualified.
Fortunately, he has the stupid, bombastic buffoonish jerk part of it down pat.
Comment by Mikey NTH on 4/30 @ 4:04 pm #
If we’re really lucky he can join Wesley Snipes in the Leona Helmsley suite at Club Fed.

Simple tax code? Ya don’t do your own taxes do you, Fred? I enjoy watching Franken get beaten like a pinata as much as anyone, but for someone in his income bracket $70,000 sounds more like a mistake or disputed deduction than an evasion.
