Michelle Malkin flags the following HuffPo account of Barack Obama’s fundraiser with limousine lefties in San Francisco:
“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,†Obama said. “And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.â€Â
This from the candidate who ignores his top economic adviser Austan Goolsbee on trade to tell suffering Americans that globalization is to blame for their plight. And then slides him under the campaign bus for trying to reassure our nervous trading partners.
Perhaps when Obama returns to Pennsylvania to ask for votes, he will charm the locals with tales of the aging Bay Area hippies who just do not understand how US trade policy is destroying the our manufacturing base and the lives of upstanding Americans in the heartland who bowl better than he does.

- At this rate, by the time the general election rolls around, and assuming Baraky doesn’t totally self-emulate sufficiently to open the door to a Hillery resurgence, McOldDuffer will have so much material to destroy the Left with in debates, the glaring split of the American electorate should be just about cast in stone with the voting public. He won’t have much heavy lifting to do, other than ply all their words back to them.
- It will be interesting to see the real percentages as they unfold in the election voting patterns, and just how close they come to what most informed sources say is an approximate 70/30 split Right-Left split. And thats on a good day for the Left. I’m pretty sure the hard-Left Lamont disaster maps onto the country as a whole.
- Something like 20 to 30% of the populace makes 95% of the noise, using “force multiplier” tactics like the Left wing media.
- Me, I don’t see the need to get excited. TrVth, like oil, always rises to the surface, and all the “nuance”, and bloviating, and “context” shifting, and political tap-dancing in the world still gets the Socialist’s asses kicked to the curb on voting day.
- This election cycle will be most remembered in future years for the remarkable manner in which it forced all the soft-Marxist racist/sexists bigots out into the open, and the really beautiful part is, they did it to themselves in an avuncular way that the Right never could have.
- There is justice in this world after all.
