This Means War . . . Man! [Dan Collins]

Kathy Shaidle:

Richard “The Boy Named Sue” Warman has finally filed his statement of claim.

Canada’s busiest litigant, serial “human rights” complainant and — the guy Mark Steyn has called “Canada’s most sensitive man” — Richard Warman is now suing his most vocal critics — including me.

The suit names:

• Ezra Levant (famous for his stirring YouTube video of his confrontation with the Canadian Human Rights tribunal after he published the “Mohammed Cartoons”)
• FreeDominion.ca (Canada’s answer to FreeRepublic.com)
• Kate McMillan of SmallDeadAnimals.com
• Jonathan Kay of the National Post daily newspaper and its in-house blog
• and me, Kathy Shaidle of FiveFeetOfFury.com

Richard Warman used to work for the notorious Human Rights Commission, which runs the “kangaroo courts” who’ve charged Mark Steyn with “flagrant Islamophobia.”

Richard Warman has brought almost half these cases single-handledly, getting websites he doesn’t like shut down, and making tens of thousands of tax free dollars in “compensation” out of web site owners who can’t afford to fight back or don’t even realize they can.

The province of British Columbia had to pass a special law to stop Richard Warman from suing libraries because they carried books he didn’t approve of.

Richard Warman also wants to ban international websites he doesn’t like from being seen by Canadians.

The folks named in his new law suit are the very bloggers who have been most outspoken in their criticism of Warman’s methods.

It’s going to cost her at least $30k to fight this thing. What a cunt this Dick is.

Let us help bring freedom to our Canuckistani brothers and sisters!

Ezra Levant has all the details.

From the wiki:

Journalist and columnist Mark Steyn states that Warman abuses the intent of the Canadian Human Rights Act by personally appearing as the plaintiff in all of the CHRA section 13 “hate speech” cases at the federal level.[25] Publisher and columnist Ezra Levant argues that Warman’s actions as plaintiff before the Canadian Human Rights Commissions are tantamount to censorship in the name of human rights.[26] In response, Warman sued Levant for defamation.

Standing? We don’t need no stinking standing! This is a Human Rights Commission, not a court of law!

Dan – is that Canadian or US Dollars?

Oh, and you are quite right about the cunt thing.

  2. Enoch_Root says:

Question: Has Dick Warman heard/seen the libelous things that Nappy “the Red-Headed Canadian Nightmare” (from BC) has been saying/writing?

  3. sashal says:

if that is true, this Warman guy is no better then Chairman of Writers Union in USSR, when anybody with even slightest dissent could be expelled or banned from publication for life…

  4. sashal says:

    #1 Enoch.
    What’s the difference ? Practically none anymore….

The Commission has long emphasized that forms of racism exist in all of society’s institutions. In order to effectively respond to racism, it is necessary to clearly acknowledge its existence.

That’s from the full Ontario “Human Rights” Commission statement on their Maclean’s decision today. Maclean’s people are big hairy racists but they can’t do nothin about it…

Unfortunately, the Maclean’s article, and others like it, are examples of this. By portraying Muslims as all sharing the same negative characteristics, including being a threat to ‘the West’, this explicit expression of Islamophobia further perpetuates and promotes prejudice towards Muslims and others. An extreme illustration of this is a “blog” discussion concerning the article that was brought to the attention of the Commission which, among many things, called for the mass killing, deportation or conversion of Muslim Canadians.

    Here’s teh funny though…

Clearly more debate on this issue is required in Canada. A comprehensive approach to the issue should be one of the goals. The discussion should be about how narrowly or broadly society places limits on freedom of expression in order to protect the human rights of its vulnerable members.

    That’s not debate that’s entrapment.

I’m afraid the Canadians are too far gone already. Although there is a sizable population (mostly in Alberta and Saskatchewan) that are conservative, the country is run far more like France and/or Briton than America. They have already been, for the most part, disarmed. I think they aren’t far behind Europe in their slide towards dimmitude.

The aforementioned Provinces only chance is to succeed, and join the States. Unfortunately, they will be assimilated.

  8. MC says:

This is rather like when they started semitic inprisonment on the continent a couple of generations ago – it’ll be US next…

  9. Obstreperous Infidel says:

I had wild monkey sex (oh shit, can you say that anymore) with a Canadian chick once. Unfortunately just once. So the canadian women are alright. Otherwise, attack and I can use it as a freezer for my t-bones, porterhouses and various other cuts of meat that I like to prepare. Oh and fuck the polar bears. Or just kill them and get me a rib roast off of one of them.

  10. Bill Ramey says:

I’ve been reading about this, but It’s still not clear to me what he’s suing them for. What’s the legal pretext for the lawsuit? Is it merely that these sites have criticized him?

  12. CochinoMarrano says:

“In response, Warman sued Levant for defamation.”

I suspect that Warman’s own words defamed him and Mr. Levant merely pointed that out to the rest of us. Only in Canada can you commit a human rights violation against yourself.

  13. D Kite says:

Mr. Warman runs a self declared crusade against what he calls hate on the internet. It is said that he posts hateful messages on his targeted sites. http://www.steynonline.com/content/view/1122/128/

He considers this to be a slight on his otherwise stellar character.

How dare anyone suggest this crusader for the safety of us all is a racist!

    Derek

  14. D Kite says:

To clarify further, he is suing for defamation of character.

I suspect that this is the first time in his life as crusader that anyone has called him on the stunts he pulls.

In most advanced civilizations people like him are paid off to get them to go away. Bloggers have a tendency to be as ornery as they are underfunded. And rather well connected.

Get some popcorn out and enjoy the show. My predictions for 2008 suggested that Canada will begin the long trek towards a First Amendment.

  16. Mcgruder says:

this reminds me of the case about 6 weeks back, when that striver janitor at an Indianapolis college nearly got fired for reading an academic history of the Klan…for a class, or some such.

this is why we fight. this is why the left must be destroyed. there is no middle ground here. This man does not deserve to be in the west, abusing freedoms so many have died for.

lets see greenwald write about this. Cunt–indeed.

Oughta start offering asylum to the Canucks who want to flee, sounds like.

Seriously, Canada – did you people vote for this shit?

Hire a hit man and eleminate all current and future problems or start a rumor among the Arabs that he loves their wives, really, and they’ll slit his throat.

  19. dicentra says:

This guy’s behavior is consistent with Paranoid Personality Disorder, where you go to extreme lengths to right any perceived slights against you. PPDs clog the legal system with their crusades. That guy who sued the Koreans for losing his pants must have been a PPD, too.

The PPD I knew was also bipolar, and when she was in her manic stage, she was truly frightening in her intent to harass her “enemies” to the ends of the earth.

This Warman guy needs to be strapped down and fed copious amounts of Haldol.

Or rather the lawyers defending the bloggers being sued by Richard Warman. And yes, I am getting really tired of this shit…

Substitute Christian for Muslim there and I think nishi is toast.
