Dems 2008: A Clintonian firing [Karl]

There is plenty of blog buzz about Mark Penn being pushed out as chief strategist of  Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign after his work on a Colombian free-trade agreement that Clinton opposes.

There is less buzz about the fact that Penn’s firm will continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign.

Call it the third way of political firing.  As opposed to the actual firing Penn’s firm got from Columbia.

It is also a bit odd that some of the major stories do not highlight that this particular transgression by Penn is particularly damaging to Clinton’s efforts to win the Pennsylvania primary on the strength of her blue-collar support.  The WaPo caught it, though.

Hillary could have done better with Juan Valdez

I still think she’s got an ever diminishing chance to get the nomination…but losing PA will be the first nail through the lid of her coffin. And Obama’s getting real close to doing it. He just needs to warm up a bit himself to those blue collar types that I represent (well, sort off…how many carpenters post here? )

  2. Dan Collins says:

Mark Penn kinda looks like a woodchuck, don’t you think?

I got 9/10 on the “Jesus or Barack” quiz and was then dubbed “Jesus” by the website. Does that count?

Bill Clinton is a long-time friend of the Colombian government and has been one of their biggest advocates. He was recently honored by the Colmbian government in NYC because they thought the agreement was a done deal. She can “say” all she wants that she is opposed to the trade deal. I dont believe her, neither should the American people. I’m willing to bet they contributed to her camapign. If she were on trial, she would be thrown out as a credible witness. Truth is diffficult for her to grasp and maintain.

    Bookmarked for later chortling.

    Hillary is going to
    eat Obama alive
    in Pennsylvania.

  6. jac says:

Hillary, Hillary Hillary, what ae you doing? Self distructing, you bet. NAFTA (Canada is upset with You, not Obama) ,Bosnia (there are pictures), the untrue story about the lack of insurance for mother/child unverified before you blabbed it, and now someone you paid 10.8m to set up trade deals, you say you are against.

  7. jo says:

I am originally from PA and most people I know are voting for Obama because Hillary is such a liar.

And I can’t imagine anyone being so angry to vote for McCain because their favorite candidate doesn’t get the nomination. The bigger picture is that McCain doesn’t have a clue to the economy and IS a warmonger.

With so many Americans unemployed and in foreclosure this type of retaliatory voting in the Democrat Party is just plain stupid. It speaks volumes and exposes the truth that the real issue behind this type of thinking really IS race.

Especially since Obama’s and Clinton’s policies are very similar. To vote for McCain if Obama wins the nod is economic suicide for America. (unless of course you are a long standing member of the Bush clan and have no financial worries whatsoever).

    After all the other nails.

When will people realize, with Hillary it’s not the nails in the coffin, it’s the stake through the heart?

I just love the repeatedly drive-by copy and pasters. And they think that we are paste-eaters.

Economic suicide to choose McCain over Baracky. Thanks for the spew.

  11. Big Bang Hunter (pumping you up) says:

Generally if you Google these things, you’ll find copies at dozens of Conservative, Independent, and Classic Liberal web sites.

    – They always start out with “I yada yada yada”, establishing some sort of bonofides, and then proceed to read like an answer to some sort of poll question on a Lefturd webpage asking readers to “Tell us your personal experience with the Evil BushCo NeoCons.”

    – The Left know they’re stupid. so naturally they assume everyone else is too.

  12. jo says:

You’re so welcome for the spew you twit. Go ahead and vote for McCain. Your ass will be in the soup line like millions of others. You think these rich bastards give a shit about you? Dream on!

And Hill and Bill are a pack of scheming, two-faced liars that will serve their own interests and tell Americans any story that will make them shut up and tolerate whatever comes down the pipe.

IT IS economic suicide to vote for McCain. Unless you are his family, friend or lover I can’t imagine you would be stupid enough to vote for another Bush.

  13. happyfeet says:

If Democrats weren’t so damn racist this whole thing would be wrapped up bt now. It’s heartbreaking.

  14. happyfeet says:

*by* now … sorry, this whole thing is just so upsetting

  15. Dan Collins says:

    jo–
What in heaven’s name caused you to come here and drop your trousers? Please, go read Count of Monte Cristo again.

  16. IT IS economic suicide to vote for McCain.

    IS NOT! so there! ;p

  17. BJTexs TW/BP says:

Oh, now, Dan. jo is just expressing her Obama love, the salty sweat savage yearning for hopey orgasms and changey cuddling.

Oooooooo — baby, baby now … love to love you, Barry.

Oh, jo, does your heart flitter flutter with the atrial fibrillation of Barry lust? My cardiologist wants me to swear off but I can feel your need, just like mine.

Oooooooo … baby, baby now …

  18. JD says:

Your ass will be in the soup line like millions of others.

This only happens under Republicans, right?

Actually, since Baracky wants to tax the holy hell out of me, how is that supposed to make my life better?

  19. happyfeet says:

    I like soup.

  20. nishi's doppleganger says:

jo u git loss, bama mines, MINES.
eye tapp kegg o oliv oil to rub thi’s n feels bama lusteses oooooooohhhhhhh.

    u go committes suicides,

    bamas mines!

  21. Education Guy says:

I also like soup, although I’m not really a fan of lines much. So I guess I’m kind of torn on this.

  22. nishi's doppleganger says:

The soup line soup tends to be blandly spiced. You see, that’s what happens when rich ‘Thuglicans screw up the economy. Then I have to wait in line to eat soup with not enough FRIGGIN’ SALT IN IT JUST TO SAVE A FEW PENNIES!!! YEEEAAARGGGHHH!

All in all though, I do like soup and I’ll start stealing those little packets of salt and pepper so that I’m prepared for the Bush/McCain depression.

I hope the bread is crusty!

  23. happyfeet says:

Split pea is my favorite, but it’s a lot the bacon.

  24. Swen Swenson says:

You think these rich bastards give a shit about you? Dream on!

You’re right jo, I don’t give a shit about you. Oddly, I’ve a feeling the sentiment is mutual.

  25. Pablo says:

Split pea is my favorite, but it’s a lot the bacon.

Andersen’s? Because nobody does it quite that well. And nobody does it like that at all here on the right coast.

  26. Pablo says:

Mostly it exposes that the Democrat party is pretty stupid.

  27. I dunno, Pablo, Tom Brokaw told me yesterday that racism and poverty are very related. I guess cause he said so.
