Gleen finds a journo who’s just as prickly about criticism as Gleen himself is, when Gleen takes him to task for “adulating” McCain.
Generally, one would just describe such a performance as adulatory, but perhaps there’s some kind of coded gay meaning to adulate to which Gleen’s referring, dictionary or no dictionary (NTTAWWT).
Ah well. Either of them would look cute, I think, in Brooks Bros “Black Fleece.”
high dudgeon, petulant offense, and melodramatic outrage
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA!
::catching breath::
A ahahahahahahHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAhahahAHHAHHAHAH!
Please quit forcing us to go read more of Gleen’s drivel. It hurts us! It BURNS us; it freezes us!
Well, not really. But I don’t think you’ll find a more disconnected body of bloviating opinionation anywhere in professional journalism. Particularly when you weight for word count.
Is that even legal in Arizona? Hell, is it even legal in California?
Most of this speaks for itself, but it’s worth noting how often journalists’ responses to criticisms contain so many of the same elements which King’s email contains … [t]hey boast of what they believe to be their reputation, assuring you that they are widely respected and admired by the People Who Count>
Snicker. I mean, everyone knows you should send a sockpuppet to do that.
Hey, you’re useful at least. I gave up on Salon years ago when they went subscription only….didn’t know they’ve come back with some interesting journalism. Salon probably saved the USA from a Gingrich dictatorship back in 89 or so…..maybe the only place that stood up to the utter hypocrisy of Gingrich’s minions. While esp. the NYTimes was having a fieldday going after the Monica story (as if it really mattered). Thanks, Republicans, for making Porno mainstream.
Now I know who the EvilGreenwald is. Pretty moderate and intelligent…unlike (y)our lovely Ann Coulter.
caren, time to take the kiddies out for some ‘homeschooling’ and maybe have a ‘sockpuppet’ play around the couch of something. (Hey, friends of mine who are Liberal Libertarian Hippy’s are homeschooling…but also pay property taxes and use the school’s resources too….so borrow a few “sockpuppet’s” from the district, eh?)
Greenwald’s the rage now. Thanks to you all, I know now another hero of a critic going against the rage Of the machine. Krugman is more concise though and he’s not even a “journalist”. What happened to Krugman as a source of ‘adulation’ here? Too intelligent perhaps?
You’re a strange and disturbed individual, datadave. A sour and pinched soul. A vapid and deleterious citizen of hither and yon, a burble of simpering discontent, a languid bubble of bog-fart.
Thanks to Mr. Greenwald, we have a ready supply of sockpuppets.
Dave:
Could you possibly limit yourself to one stupid f’ing comment per post? To say your off-topic, nonsensical ramblings represent a shotgun approach to writing is an insult to weaponry.
speak to the question. you can’t seem to keep up. Slow aren’t you?
So why’s Greenwald so bad..if you couldn’t read the obvious ?, los stupidios.
McCain is adulated by many obviously. There isn’t any serious discussion about his tax policies, etc and etc…just that he’s a war hero and an attractive oldster. That’s all there is! Danny boy.
Because Greenwald’s a dishonest hack, idiota.
No one’s discussing his policies? What the hell are you reading? Most of what I read and hear about McCain is about his policies.
Rob:
Data-challenged dave can’t be bothered with facts, man!
You don’t define the question, dave. Try not to be an ass.
You can search Krugs here, if you like. I’ve whacked him around a bit. Because I seek to entertain as well as illuminate, in my oblique way, or at least to set the table, I choose topics that I think are fun. Most of the time, Krugs is simply wearying.
I recommend that you create a blog for yourself, where you can define the topics.
I’ll look into it. The design here is good. I have an expert in house but I need him to focus on school. High Honors on 4 hours of sleep isn’t good.
hey, you need a few critics here or it’s just a sockpuppet show… anyway, I don’t even know McCain’s policies other than the Surge is working…but economics again is the main theme this year.
But Romney and McCain are offering the same as GWBush so how’s that going to impress people?
it seems these comments of late are more about “me” than anyone else. I’ll give you all credit for at least reading Salon or the NYTimes and I read NRO too. But why not impress us with something new about this field of candidates that we don’t know about? Hell, what is McCain’s tax policies?
believe it or not I was somewhat reassured by this article: http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZGQ0NzU2MzIwOGNjYTc3YjI5MmQ1ZDUxMWVjZjA0Y2Y=
but it didn’t address the income disparity question and inflationary cost of fuel. I would rather avoid an economic downturn than just to have one to get a Democrat elected. But the consumer is hurting right now. House’s have been overpriced for a long time and need to go down further. And warmaking in the long term is deficit causing…(that’s Bush’s economic stimulus plan if you hadn’t noticed. ) McCain is offering more of the same?
move on to someone else to sock it to.
Then you are sure to be disappointed by Greenwald.
English isn’t your first language, is it datadave?
Because you spew unsupported assertions like a firehose of sewage. For example, your assertion that no one’s talking about McCain’s policies, and that McCain’s economic policies are the same as Bush’s. Both are wrong.
“Comment by datadave on 1/16 @ 9:00 am #
speak to the question. you can’t seem to keep up. Slow aren’t you?”
No, you’re an idiotic loonwaffle.
You are dismissed.
Always with Glen’s sexuality, Dan? Where does this obsession originate? I’m just saying, every post about Greenwald (almost everyday) has to contain some witty remark about his alleged homosexuality. Are you channeling Coulter? Or, are you just the run of the mill bigot?
Oh, I forgot, Matt Sanchez is cool, because he’s “conservative.” So, you limit your bigotry to bloggers infinitely more successful than you AND liberal? Just trying to get the intentionalism….
datadave,
Gleen Grenwald is notorious for his vanity, his thin skin, his ability to compress more words into smaller ideas than any man since Lincoln’s age, and his penchant to promote his works and ideas through the use of pseudonymous commenters (the “sock puppets” reference).
For years, this community and others (see Patterico and Wuzzadem for starters) have wondered at the man’s popularity, exposed the shallowness and hypocracy of his writings, and taken him to task for his dishonest behavior. We’ve also made fun of him for shallow and petty reasons, but we are only human, after all.
It would behoove you to acquaint yourself with this community’s long-running relationship with the Gleens before commenting further upon it. To do otherwise might make you look ignorant of the situation, causing those of us with lower levels of self-discipline to mock you further.
If you’re going to be a respected, contributing member of this community, I’m afraid a little homework is required. Alternatively, you could lurk silently for a few weeks until you get a better feeling for the personalities, running jokes, common themes, and history of the site.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
We’d miss you longer if you went away for good.
Where is Major John when we need him?
Most of my children are already done with their home schooling for the day. The older ones are on their own to finish up their stuff. But, thanks for the concern.
IJS: “Where did you get this petty homophobia? You taught you about this?”
Dan: “YOU, Dad! I learned it from watching you!”
“Alleged”? I thought Gleen was quite open about his orientation.
Fuck off, timmah.
Poof!
Seconded, JD.
Once, a long time ago, a wise man gave me some advice about feeding trolls, but I forget what he said.
If only I could remember that advice…
“Greenwald’s the rage now.” No, things like Deely-Bobbers become a ‘rage’. Gleen just has hissy-fits.
You can hear the hissing and mewling all the way over here! Meeeeow!
And, also unlike Ann Coulter, we rarely see discussions of his vagina on HuffPo.
If he was really wise, it involved arsenic.
datadave – What is the income disparity question?
Yes, datadave, you should know that here we do not recognize any income inequality in this country and we have the studies paid for by conservative foundations to prove the US government and all those liberals wrong. Everything is fine in this country, except taxes are too high.
Or maybe we just don’t give a shit how much money somebody else makes?
Incidentally, why do you think income inequality is bad? Please keep in mind that generating wealth is not a zero-sum game.
I think it’s bad because I don’t make as much as Bill Gates. Do you have any idea how much ass, scotch and blow you could buy with that kind of cash?
I’ve been deprived, dammit!
RMeyers – You have to try harder than that.
I think a little income inequality is better than making millions of dollars a year doing a show in Vegas and then getting your gay ass mauled half to death by a tiger. I mean if I had to pick.
What are you, some kind of … uh … anti-communist!?
thanks for info, squid.
doesn’t seem this Greenwald guy is that popular though. Not like Krugman. or Coulter or even that Goldberg guy with his idiot book about Fascism=Liberalism. Sorry can’t contribute to the “community”, a friend fell and broke her arm and heel bone. gotta go..
“Incidentally, why do you think income inequality is bad? Please keep in mind that generating wealth is not a zero-sum game.”
inequality…is Always with us…but the extreme where the US now matches the lowest degenated Oligarchy as was Zaire of Mobuto’s time or Haiti pre Aristide (and probably post-Aristide) is always of something evil. We’re about at the point of where we were in 1929. Maybe that’s a omen? Let’s hear it for the top 1 percent…more, more and more driving up our standard of living through inherited wealth.
Okay, Okay linky!! I heard this author on the public radio and he sounded super good and informed and was even “Libertarian” (not socialist) in viewpoint. Not sure where he is now on the political spectrum. He said that Bill Clinton actually gave a bigger tax cut for the super rich than the notorious ones that GWBush did…where capital gains is now as low rate as the tax of a ditchdigger. Anyway, not a Krugman who I like alot displeases most o you so try a gander at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Free-Lunch-Wealthiest-Themselves-Government/dp/1591841917/ref=pd_ts_b_43?ie=UTF8&s=books
Krugman does not “displease” us, fucktarddave. He lies. He is kind of a little whiny meek little bitch. And he lies. He does not displease us though.
http://homepage.mac.com/ttsmyf/RD_RJShomes_PSav.html
the ‘curve’ doesn’t lie….your bankers did though. Krugman’s absolutly correct. Buy Gold. If you got any savings.
JD, you sniveling little leach following me around….you need a big brother or something? Just back off and get a life.
gotta go be a nurse so don’t wait up for me.
Krugman works for the New York Times now, but there was a time when he was a respected economist. I think it’s in wikipedia.
Take your meds, asshat. And pick up some Depends for yourself on the way home. Help out that cleaning lady of yours.
happy – That point in time only exists in his mind, and those of his fellow travelers. The next time Krugman is right will be the first.
You didn’t answer my question. Why is this level of inequality bad? Also, you linked a book called “Free Lunch: How the Wealthiest Americans Enrich Themselves at Government Expense (and StickYou with the Bill).” Here’s a clue, moron: As a libertarian, I oppose all form of government subsidies, including those received by the eeeevil top one-percenters. You left-wingers have worked tirelessly to construct the monstrosity that is the federal government, imbuing it with sweeping powers and trillions of dollars, and yet you’re always dismayed when people take advantage of it. You want a big government? Fine, then you better learn to live with federal subsidies and politicians representing lobbyists instead of their constituents.
If I were a betting man, I’d bet that Krugman has already bought gold, and is hoping it’ll edge a little bit higher before he dumps his holdings.
Slark…dude. I’d wish i’d done that!! A friend has gold and he bought it only a couple of years ago. The question is when to sell…he’s got maybe 100 percent on it now…but get greedy and wait can cost you.
JD, you’re pathetic and just need some love…get out and get some and maybe a gay bar is your kind of place as you seem so interested in following my rear. Stay off my ass, you ass!
Jordan, dumbass. Of course I know the author ‘was’ a libertarian. But Libertarianism is never gonna work, nor ever will. It’s Unnatural. The rich make laws to protect their wealth. Most laws such as mandated autoinsurance were derived from the well-off being stunned by the fact that some poor unemployed sheetrocker or dishwasher could drive his 100 dollar car into their Mercedes and not have to pay the bills. The Government at the behest of Mercedes or new car owners came to their rescue and spread the pain upon all citizens. I’ll know not to ask how you understand financial markets and law and govt. as you are too stupid to understand.
Thunder only happens when it’s raining.
And who gave the government the power to make such laws, hmmm dumbass? You moronic left-wingers.
Libertarianism is only unnatural because morons like you can’t envision a world in which uncle sugar isn’t there to run every aspect of your life and bail you out if you buy a house you can’t afford.
I make it a practice never to buy when the guys on soapboxes are telling everyone to buy. The time to buy is when everyone is actually starting to buy, not when the experts are done busily buying and are proceeding to busily advise others to buy.
When the you’re getting practically spammed on TV and the internet about how now is the time to buy gold, it’s probably time to sell.
I mean, remember when “Flip Your House” got to be popular? Remember that it was right at the top of the housing market?
Sorry: Flip This House.
I’m going to reemphasize the part of my post that you conveniently ignored, datadave, in the hopes that you’ll actually pay attention this time: If a group of people (like those eeeevil rich guys) is using government power to violate the rights of another group (say, innocent brown children who love puppies), then the solution is to remove that power from the government, not give the government more power, as you hapless left-wingers always do. Government is the problem, not the solution
