Ellers McEllerson Suffers Pre-Election Stress Trauma [Karl]

The latest bloviating from the Internet’s most notorious sock-puppeteer takes issue with the notion that some people might become “unhinged” in the event of a loss by Barack Obama.

Tom Maguire capably dismantles most of that bloviating at Just One Minute, but I would add that Ellers McEllerson has apparently forgotten about the Post-Election Stress and Trauma Syndrome that plagued Democrats after losses in 2000 and 2004.  He also seems to have missed the rude reaction of Obamaniacs to Hillary Clinton’s oblique critique of Obama at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s 49th annual 100 Club dinner in Milford, NH., Friday night.  And he seems to have missed the fevered nightmare scenario of Obama being assassinated by Blackwater already being concocted over at the HuffPo.

Then again, Ellers is probably not the best judge in the world of “unhinged.”

Update:  The NYT reports that Clinton will not run negative ads against Obama in NH, ostensibly because the primary was too soon for such an onslaught to have any effect.  But perhaps the Clinton camp has concluded they don’t have to do so to win in NH, either.

To be for real honest we’ve only been at this election thinger in earnest for a couple days and I’m feeling a little stressed really. Mostly because the media has become hopelessly droney and nonsensical and I’m not sure exactly what but I’m guessing I’m going to have to filter better.

Also maybe it’s just me but this whole Huckabee thing feels unresolved. I’d like some closure on that.

    Mona is such an imbecile

Look folks, Lee Atwater admitted and apologized for exploiting racism to win — including directly to his victims — before he died of brain cancer in 1990:

    Flash forward to 2008 Mona

He grabs his coat, but before he can leave, an Edwards campaign ambassador approaches. “What do you guys hang from the ladders at firefighters’ funerals?” he asked the men in yellow. An awkward moment ensues. “The American flag!” he answers his own question. Then, he points right at Mrs. Sorenson, and declares: “Obama doesn’t salute the American flag.” For good measure, he adds that Obama was sworn in to the Senate on the Koran. (Not true, but all’s fair in the heat of a caucus moment.)

that sounds about right. I’ve noticed I’m not caring much lately. C-Span3 has been running tobacco company hearings from 1994. they always make me wonder what they’re up to, because I think their goal is to relate to something current when they run the really old stuff.

also, Karl, i love how your response is labeled “substance free” guess somebody’s right about Gleen’s audience not following links and having reading comprehension problems.

  6. unless of course you’re lying about what his column was about. dunno, I won’t jump through Salon’s hoops to read it.

“unhinged”? Never. Meanwhile, George W. Bush just blew up another levee.

And look who’s supporting the Bush Doctrine:

But let me just add that when you look at where we are, the stateless terrorists will operate from somewhere. I mean, part of our message has to be there is no safe haven.

…If we can demonstrate that the people responsible for planning the nuclear attack on our country may not themselves be in a government or associated with a state, but have a haven within one, then every state in the world must know we will retaliate against those states.

There cannot be safe havens for stateless terrorists who are in these networks that are plotting to have the proliferation of nuclear weapons and be smuggling into our country or elsewhere the kind of suitcase device that could cause such havoc.

Hint: She, I mean, this person is a candidate for President.

  10. oh, thanks for that Mike C. started skimming, but I’ll have to take it in bites. makes me angry when they talk about “forgetting” or “neglecting” Afghanistan. What the F was RTO doing there for 2 years? more NATO troops? good luck with that! they were supposed to be training the Afghan police but were doing such a craptacular job of it that the U.S. picked it up last year.

and they have no f’ing clue how long it takes to train troops. it’s always, “hurry up!” I’ve always liked B Moe’s egg boiling comparison. I might like to have an egg hard boiled in 10 seconds, but no matter how hard I wish for it, it ain’t gonna happen. it takes as long as it takes.

    Are we there yet?

Yes, she either could not be bothered to read the Maguire piece, or could not refute it, then chose to ignore the examples listed above of Lefty unhingement.

At the very least, she is betting that her readership will not bother checking the links, just as she never checks McEllerson’s.

Finally, lest anyone new to the party have any doubt as to what Mona’s agenda is, let’s quote her:

I no longer aspire to “understand” or persuade people who think as Protein Wisdom bloggers/fans do. You are part of the political pathology whose effectiveness I seek to neutralize; dialogue isn’t on my agenda.

    Neither is intellectual honesty.

That’s so unlike her. I refuse to believe she would do such a thing.

Uh-oh, I think I broke the sarcasm switch. It won’t shut off.

Of course dialogue isn’t on her agenda. It’s not on Gleen(s) agenda either. Bitch is a Stalinist. She is about destroying political opponents, not winning debates about ideas.

But she’s ever so humble.. Damn! The sarcasm switch is broke.

So, what is McPoof on about now? Oh yeah, he’s unhinged at the suggestion he might come unhinged. Now ‘past performance is no guarantee of future earnings’ but I think we can all see a trend here. Sell short.

It’s much worse than that. You’re wrong that this isn’t about ideas, ideas are precisely what she’s focused on. This is about the extermination of heresy, of ideas that are so clearly and obviously wrong that those who hold them are intellectually nonpersons. That the virus may not spread, it must be neutralized. How this is to be done remains, one might say deliberately, unclear.

I suppose we may thank her for her honesty.
