Don’t joke about either, Dan. The one is too sad. The other is too wonderful.

I would leave off the joking too. I have to brood on that second story a bit…

Get a note to Brian de Palma or Bob Redford on that second story and they’ll get to the grimy bottom of it: The GI slit the family’s throats so he could impress the little nipper into slavery, pumping oil by hand from the ground between polishing boots and getting sodomized by the entire platoon.

There was an incident not too long ago where a man with a cellphone pressed to his ear walked around a railroad crossing gate in front of a train.

On the one hand my first reaction was, “Darwin award.” Then I wondered who he was on the phone with. I really hope it wasn’t his wife or his mother.

Alas, all I can hear is the voice of Crow T. Robot:

    “Why don’t they look?”

I am a foul and degenerate creature; I will now play the music.

There’s more to the Capt. Southworth story which by the way only made me cry like a little girl.

A local district attorney is working to bring nearly two dozen young boys with special needs from Iraq to the United States.

    [...]

“In June, we found out that some of the children that were with Ala’a at the Mother Theresa Orphanage along with other children, were basically left to starve to death in the heat of the summer,” Southworth says, “they found them laying on the ground.”

Ala’a adds, “… naked, no clothes, no food … just starving to death.”

They need host families it says but no mention of how anyone outside Wisconsin can help.

And you know you’re kind of left to wonder what happened to the girls but maybe they have separate orphanages cause of the Islam. But just on the off-chance anyone is in a position to help here is contact information for Capt. Southworth.
