\nI’d also like to mention that a couple of days ago, over at Patterico’s there was a story about a ban on Lapp dancing involving touching meant to arouse in Las Vegas being upheld as illegal by the Nevada State Supreme Court. The Lapps are a proud people, and suffered greatly under Soviet persecution. Somehow, they’ve managed to hold onto their languages, much of their culture, their costume, their folkloric and song traditions. If their dances involved touching, for the purposes of arousal or not, I don’t understand how this is somehow meant to represent a threat to the morals of the citizens of Vegas. I don’t know how many Lapps there are there, but it seems to me that they ought to be afforded equal protection with the rest of the pervs in that weirdo burgh.\n<\/p>\n
