I’ve written at length over the years about the empowerment identity groups feel when they are able to cause self-censorship — and that true “tolerance” as it was understood and promoted by the Framers has to do not with giving offense but rather a willingness to take it as part of the price of liberty.

Our western media is fully prepared to attack Christians, conservatives, Zionists, et al., but with Muslim extremism they prefer “restraint,” not out of some sort of empathy or nuanced thinking (as they desperately would like us to believe), but rather out of cowardice: they can bully those they believe won’t ever strike back but fear getting on the wrong side of those whose “peaceful” religion commands they go avenge “The Prophet” with bullets, swords, etc., from having its all-powerful (PBUH) feelings hurt.

Or did I misunderstand the self-righteousness of The People vs. Larry Flynt? — which incidentally was not a movie based on Jerry Falwell’s Christian commando group rushing the offices of Hustler in masks, spraying gunfire.

Make of that what you will.
