While calling for un-enforcible “universal background checks” that will effectively criminalize the transfer of firearms from father to son, mother to daughter, etc. — and claim to end private transactions, even while it will likely only impact those citizens most likely to comply.<\/p>\n

Meaning, not criminals.<\/em><\/p>\n

Couple this with a gun registry, and you’ll have the left’s holy grail of gun control: they will be able to slowly seize firearms from law abiding citizens upon the death of the original owner, making any private purchase of a firearm, already heavily scrutinized, more of a lease — with the government doing the real owning<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Now, I realize I’m probably getting too overwrought about this, but so be it. I’m nutty like that. Which is why if something like this passes, I’ll simply ignore it. As will millions of others, I’d venture.<\/p>\n
