A Turner Prize recipient and England\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s most famous cross-dressing potter, Perry has been heralded for his controversial explorations of religious imagery, which include a vase entitled \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cTransvestite Brides of Christ\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d and a portrayal of the Virgin Mary that is best left to the imagination. Yet apparently there are some boundaries that even groundbreaking artists dare not cross.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cI\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve censored myself,\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d Perry <a href=\"http:\/\/entertainment.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/arts_and_entertainment\/visual_arts\/article2896431.ece\"><font color=\"#006c8c\">told<\/font><\/a> the <em>Times<\/em>, admitting that he treads lightly around <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"void(0)\"><font size=\"3\">radical Islam<\/font><\/a>. \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cWith other targets you\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve got a better idea of who they are but Islamism is very amorphous.
