Apparently, some right-wing critics of lib talk aren’t happy that conservative talk only accounts for 90% of the programming on talk radio. These whack jobs appear determined to whatever it takes to silence the opposing point of view.
Not surprisingly, the only talk radio host killed for his political views was a liberal. In 1984, two right wing extremists gunned down Denver talk show host Alan Berg. Berg’s tragic murder was memorialized in a chilling movie Talk Radio.

Frost Parents Talk About The Right’s Jihad Against Their Son On Countdown (Slogan Murphy)
Jihad, huh? There is no God but Malkin, and Allah is her prophet.
How can you look on these poor, broken bodies after the car crash and be heartless enough to say they don’t deserve the benefits they received? How can you look at those children hooked up to a hundred devices and tell their parents that they should lose their home, or their children deserve their fate? Olbermann prodded the family to supply pictures of their children in the hospital recovering from their terrible accident. The photos were displayed as Olbermann and the couple complained about the Right’s “distraction†techniques.
It really doesn’t get much lower or much cheaper or much sadder than this.

The Randi Rhodes attack is already suspected to be the work of American Brownshirts at various places in the blogosphere, with some predicting Republicans will accuse her of doing it to herself.
As for the drama queens at Crooks and Liars, I expected their performances were precisely the reason for showing the images in the first place. Now we can expect such performances against any further criticism of the Democrats’ SCHIP campaign.

1. The recovery of the children is not and never has been the issue. The issue is the Frosts’ failure to provide for such a contingency, coupled with the fact that the kids were indeed covered by a program the Dems now want to expand.
2. The Frosts’ have not spent much time, if any, “hoping against the odds” for the recovery of their children. I have, and I know what it looks like. That ain’t it.
Also, Alan Berg wasn’t murdered by right wingers, he was murdered by Nazis, anti-semites.

The iron law of economics: What you tax you get less of and what you subsidize you get more of. We tax thrift, industriousness, production, work and subsidize sloth, indolence, foolishness. Mr. and Mrs. Frost might not have procured health insurance even if SCHIP hadn’t existed, but at least the taxpayer wouldn’t have been required to subsidize their irresponsible act of not doing so when their children were injured. Instead they would have been reduced to begging the hospital to help, a preferable posture to the haughtiness we see now in their demands to expand this program so more parents can act irresponsibly.

As a mother, I find one important way to take care of my children is to make sure my husband and I are also taken care of. What if all those tubes were coming out of Halsey? Seriously, it bothers me to no end these people still have not insured themselves, and I am *shocked* Olbermann didn’t ask them about that.
They could keep their children on S-CHIP and just pay for adult insurance, couldn’t they?
