Recently, Jeff highlighted a post by Steve H. at Hog on Ice asserting that the conservative Blogosphere is falling behind the Left at developing new talent. I think that the two stories I highlighted here at the Pub today, on the NYT/MoveOn ad and Hsu prove just the opposite.
Confederate Yankee has been around for a while, but recently Bob Owens seems to have discovered a new niche for himself as a watchdog over the MSM. Already he has two notches on his belt: his expose of the TNR “fact-checking” coverup on their Beauchamp fables, and the NYT discount on the MoveOn ad, for which he drew a savage pushback from John Cole at Balloon Juice. In both cases it looks like Owens’ suspicions have been confirmed.
On the Hsu story, we are seeing a major new talent in the person of Flip Pidot, who, once again, scooped both the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times, apparently from his bedroom.

Wow, thanks Happy Feet! No pressure on me then! I will try to justify the faith that you and others have so kindly invested in me. Incidentally, I’m working from my kitchen in South-west England, so not immersed in US MSM, which may or may not be a good thing!
