Earlier today, I Tweeted Glenn Beck, and a few minutes later I got this:

hannityhater — curious- does @glannbeck [sic] follow you?

I’d never heard of hannityhater. And I couldn’t tell from the nic if she was a winger who happened to dislike Hannity or what. I assumed she was a winger at first.

dicentra63 — I wish. I assume he gets a bajillion tweets so I don’t know if he even reads what I write.

hannityhater — I think he should follow you guys - Why wouldn’t he? isnt it sort of rude that he doesnt even follow any of his fans?

dicentra63 — He doesn’t have time to follow us. He does get the tweets we direct at him, though. Most celebs follow few people. Glenn answered @dahlhalla once, though, when she sent him a link. We were all very impressed and jealous.

hannityhater — he HATES me! He quoted me in his video ad/blog & then he blocked me so I know he reads his tweets! It’s easy enough to follow someone even if you dont have time to answer everyone. He should because you all seem very devoted

At this point I bopped over to her bio and found that she describes herself as “raging left-wing progressive who is no longer reasonable” and that she’s in NYC. So the conversation continued more or less as follows: (I’ve combined successive Tweets, done a little rearranging to compensate for leapfrogging threads, and done a little editing to clarify. )

hannityhater — I’ve been pretty awful because I really despise him but I was surprised that he actually blocked me -

hannityhater — normally that would be sufficient but I really become undone when he uses that derisive deranged Kermit voice. he’s so disrespectful to our POTUS in a very nasty & childish way-Beyond disagreeing w/ policy. I just have a chemical hate 4 him

dicentra63 — He believes POTUS is hurting USA, but he doesn’t HATE BHO. I don’t either. I just want to stop his policies. Again, Y hate?

hannityhater — He has spent everyday since he started, Inaguration day, tearing him to pieces. Never giving him a chance. It infuriates me

hannityhater — anyway- I love the Pres Obama & think he deserves respect and a fair chance so I despise Beck. I dont even mind Hannity anymore because he seems tame compared to Beck who appears to want the complete destruction of the administration-It’s pretty awful

dicentra63 — Your attachment to BHO is emotional? Is it good to love a politician? Won’t you be blind to faults? Bad moves? We believe admin wants more power that it ought to have, and all power is abused. WH wants to shut down Beck. Is that OK?

hannityhater — the name calling is baseless-Beck is historically an alarmist who makes his living ginning up the base so to speak.

dicentra63 — Eye of the beholder. BHO is “racialist”: sees all events through racial lens. Years ago Glenn was just comedy. And his alarmism has been coming true.

hannityhater — marxist socialist communist radicals. This is insanity. He’s the fairly elected President of this country & loves it as much as any of the “patriots” who seem to hate him. Calling him a RACIST is indefensible-He should’ve apologized

dicentra63 — Nobody questions legitimacy of election. BHO has surrounded himself with radicals and marxists his entire life. BHO loves the country he imagines he’ll make it into. Patriotism is not issue. Theory of governance is. BHO wants BIG gubmint.  And it’s not about hate for our side. It’s about simple opposition. It’s about sunlight and principles and liberty.

I wanted to respond that our contempt for Obama’s ideas predates anything Beck ever said, but Hewitt was over and it was time I did something productive.
