Who knew!? GWB demonstrated CHANGE?

was skimming the transcript here (h/t Hot Air) to see what else our Minster of Culture had to say, since I’m kinda interested in that kind of stuff, and this bit leapt out at me:

But the change that the president and the first lady talked about so eloquently during the campaign and during the transition and now in the administration, that change extends to the arts as well.  Change is here, as evidenced by the establishment of a position focused exclusively on the arts.  Change is on the horizon, as demonstrated by the president’s continually and repeatedly mentioning the arts in education and healthcare speeches.  Change is here, as illustrated by the awarding of the Library of Congress award to Stevie Wonder.  And change is come because of the fact that is integral to educating our youth of tomorrow.  And change most certainly is evident by the fact of the awarding of $50 million to the National Endowment for the Arts in the stimulus package.

I vaguely remember Stevie Wonder getting an award, but was a bit fuzzy on the “Library of Congress” thing, so I did some digging…Turns out, Wonder was awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, it’s relatively new, Stevie Wonder being the second recipient.  But look at when it was announced . So, even before he was elected, Obama was changing “The Arts”. OR…. Chimpy McHitlerburton was… the cowboy.

There are some other amusing nuggets in there, like leaving The Metropolitan Opera out of Thomas Hampson’s bio. He mentions “New York’s Opera” whatever that is.

and I have no idea what “And change is come because of the fact that is integral to educating our youth of tomorrow.” means. um, okay, dude, whatever.

Oh, also, I looked up James H. Billington, the Librarian of Congress, and found it interesting that he founded the Wilson Quarterly, which RTO would tell you, makes him a pinko commie. ;D

more weirdness, for something that’s so important some people seem confused about Obama’s appointments.

The only reference to Mr. Dale I was able to find on the White House site was a clip of him answering a question about disability policy. This more recent post claims that Kal Penn will eventually replace him.

I am pretty sure, by the way, that the White House has recognized this whole situation as a personnel snafu that has to be fixed.

They are so cute at that age.

And everyone knows Paul Simon was just a spokesmusician for the fascist right-wing Rethuglicans.
