A Metropolitan State College Professor is being investigated for “bias, bullying and harassment” for assigning his English class students an essay designed to “criticize, undermine or contradict” Sarah Palin’s life. MTSU Metropolitan State College is in Denver.
Andrew Hallam (“Bush-bashing is one of my favorite things to do”–Metro State instructor Andrew Hallam) is a known elitist academe.
“This so-called ‘assignment’ represents indoctrination in its purist form,” said Matt Barber, director of Cultural Affairs with Liberty Counsel, whose sister, Janna, is taking the class from Andrew Hallam, a new instructor at the school. The instructor also, according to students, is harshly critical of President Bush during his classroom English presentations. He reportedly has allowed students who identify themselves as “liberal” to deride and ridicule those who identify themselves as “conservative” or Republican.
“So much for critical thinking. What’s happening in that classroom represents a microcosm for what’s happening with the angry left around the country,” Matt Barber told WND. “The visceral and even abusive reaction Hallam and some of his students are having against Sarah Palin and Republican students in the class is occurring on a much larger scale among left-wing elitists throughout the media, academia and the larger Democratic Party.”
Emboldenings mine.
Somehow, this story caught my attention.
Can’t say exactly how. An elitist academe with known hateful speech and thoughtless primitive BDS?

I caught his idiotic comments at your homeblog. Does he come after you (and others?) like that often? Personally, I can understand his emotional derangement but can’t understand the chasing after a pointless fight. I mean, what possible good is it, does it do for him? Dunno, really.

William’s alienated left and right sorts with his bulldozer-tank-brained posting tactics. He’s credited with hammering the final nail in the coffin of the original incarnation of NIT (Nashville is Talking..the aggregator that, you might recall, caused a major kerfuffle when Brittney Gilbert posted some of Smantix’s remarks after Steve Gilliard died last year, and J.C. Christian of Jesus’ General took it nationwide).
TennesseeFree is a site that Glen Dean asked me to contribute to. I was hesitant, because I knew it was only a matter of time before William crossed the line.
Fed up, I am.

If this guy is the head of the journalism dept then this might just be a case of some realistic, job oriented training for a career in the MSM… Spinning ugly slant on all things Republican has got to be one of the key skills necessary for landing that job of your dreams at pretty much any network or magazine.. Certainly more important than originality, logic, spelling, grammar or syntax.
