Under Palin, Alaska benefitted from higher oil royalties:
With no statewide income or sales tax, Alaska funds about 90 percent of the state budget from royalties and taxes on oil producers. Soaring oil prices and a higher windfall oil profits tax - an increase pushed through by Palin, now the Republican vice presidential nominee - have state coffers overflowing with petrodollars. The Alaska oil industry calculates that its annual payments to the state doubled in a single year to $10.2 billion.
Isn’t it terrible when governments can afford what they spend?

Get a grip, she flopped a tax on the rest of us from her corruption filled crap-hole. Would you saying “what a great State” if Texas and Louisiana enacted taxes on refining that stuck you with $10-a-gallon-gas?

You gotta give the press some credit, I think. Finding that much negative press, and nothing but negative press, when Palin has an 85% approval rating up there, had to be some hard work.

Hate to break the news, thor, but every oil producing state charges these royalties for extraction. You see, unlike you, they understand that once that oil is pumped, it’s pumped, and if you are going to collect anything on that resource for the people of your state, that’s when you have to do it.

That’s why there’s little offshore drilling off the Carolinas. Hate to break the news to you but states that overtax exploration, drilling and production causes less of that activity and it also results in higher prices at the pump for everyone everywhere.
Grip!

Palin fleeced us more? Anyway, she does outdo Obama’s 22 dollars per Illinois person earmarks while her Alaskan earmarks come out to over 200 dollars per person.
thor, doncha love it that these guys didn’t take Econ 101?
