Gov Palin has been in the very unique position of having her state in kissing proximity with Russia.
You all remember Russia, right? Raper of Georgia, who has just annexed So. Ossetia on its way to re-Sovietize the region?
Well, leaving aside the hysterical Obamabots and Vagina Warriors who are busy with their lame attempts to paint Gov. Palin as a white-trash bimbo (say hello to Feministe, Pandagon, et al), adults actually interested in facts should consider this
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units. As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s.
She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.
Indeed.

I found pictures of her visiting Alaskan troops in Kuwait, but no details on where all she has been or how many times. Anybody see anything more on her trips to the Middle East?

Thank you for the links Darleen. I suspected as much, but never really knew.
This makes an important case for Mrs. Palin, but I kinda figure it’ll be left out of something really important…like the MSM.
Oh well…I was “in the tank” for her when that Caribou pic came out anyway…

As regards “foreign policy” experience, I always return to the story told of George Schultz as Reagan’s Sec. State. He invited newly appointed ambassadors into his office, which had a large map of the world on the wall, and asked the ambassador to point to his country on the map. When the ambassador approached the map and pointed to Mali or Spain or India or Vietnam or whatever, Schultz would draw them up short and hammer his finger down on the USA, saying NO, this is your country, this one right here. That is foreign policy expertise without which anything else is of no worth whatsoever.

B Moe, there are a few notes on where she has been (Kuwait, Germany) in this article, but it doesn’t look like she’s traveled much – they say she only got a passport just last year.
