   A Statement from Bill Maher

   Since starting on Politically Incorrect in 1993, it has been my pleasure over the last decade and a half to make organized religion one of my favorite targets. I often explained to people, “I don’t need to make fun of religion, it makes fun of itself.” And, then I go ahead and make fun of it too, just for laughs.

   With religious fanatics like George Bush and Osama bin Laden now taking over the world, it seemed to me in recent years that this issue — this cause of debunking the man behind the curtain — needed to have a larger, more insistent and focused forum than late night television

   No wonder this man can’t get laid … by women.

   That’s funny, because in “The Wizard of Oz” it was the man in front of the curtain who didn’t really exist.

   It worries me that people are running my country who believe in a talking snake.

   Yep, same snake that equated Bush and Osama Bin Laden. That equated American troops with Nazi storm troopers. That said Bush may have known beforehand about 9/11. And that sat next to Michael Moore at the 2004 Demo convention. Please to meet you, hope you’ve guessed my name.

   Well I’m so glad to have been corrected by Maher’s sharp, incisive satire. I now realize that religion is the root of all evil, not money and that vacuous, self important pandering to ones own desires and ego coupled with an underage girl or two are the new morality.

   Now I need to go put ice on the golf ball sized lump on my forehead before I go buy a new desk top.

   All I gotta say is that’s one heck of an embalming job Maher’s sporting these days. Must have had Al Gore’s guy do the work.
