Ayaan Hirshi Ali was discussed as would a science team detail a troublesome batch of data. The dehumanization and mockery…and the misunderstanding…of Ayaan’s struggles to not only survive, but to lead largely uneducated Muslim women away from the narrow path that will be sum of their lives, causes me to approach incredulity. This is an example:
Well, I would say that if at age 5 any girl-child who had her clitoris surgically removed could be said to have had a dark and oppressed childhood.
Something that might in turn spur a person to reject, strongly, a belief system that espouses at any level such a procedure.
No matter if 1 – 1.5 Billion people are fool enough to follow even the basic tenets of that belief, it’s well past time that said belief was subjected to reform.
