Just say “no” to hate speech (and send money) [Darleen Click]

The latest beg-athon emails from camp Edwards:

Dear D.,

Thanks to you, we’re within striking distance of our $9 million fundraising goal with just under 48 hours to go. If we make it, the campaign will have the resources we need to compete going forward.

johnedwards.com/endofquarter/48-hours

I’m proud of the way this community has stepped up in these last crucial days. And like so many Americans, I’m proud of Elizabeth and the way she stood up to Ann Coulter and said no to hate speech.

In these last 48 hours, I’m asking you to do two things. By contributing today, you can help us reach our goal. And you can join with me in letting Elizabeth know how proud we are of her by leaving a personal message for her when you contribute. Please give what you can, at:

johnedwards.com/endofquarter/48-hours

July 3rd is Elizabeth’s birthday and a great way to celebrate would be a donation by our June 30th deadline to help us hit our goal. All of us are working so hard to reach this goal because we know the stakes are so high. Our cause is building one America—a place where everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream and no one is left out in the cold. It’s truly universal health care. It’s stopping global warming. It’s bringing our troops home starting today. And it’s not just talking about poverty—it’s eliminating it.

But none of us can do this alone. This campaign is about working together on the big changes we believe in. It’s true now, and it will still be true when I’m president—we’re in this together.

So in these last 48 hours, please make a contribution to help us reach our goal, and join me in thanking Elizabeth for showing that hate and fear are no match for civility and courage. Please give what you can:

Thank you, – John Edwards

Here’s an except from the one I got 30 minutes ago:

—————————————————————

Take a moment to remember why you want John Edwards in this race—and in the White House. Is it someone you know who needs health care? A relative serving in Iraq? Children who don’t deserve to inherit a world wrecked by global warming? Or is it just a deep belief that we can and must build one America where no one is left out in the cold?
Whatever your reason, your time is now.At this moment your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make all the difference.
——————————————————–

Isn’t that just all so precious?

Where is Elizabeth’s email address so I can tell her myself what I think of her horribly dishonest behavior!

  2. Comment by Shawn on 6/30 @ 12:38 pm #

Uhhhh, if I want no one to be left out in the cold, wouldn’t global warming be a good thing?

and join me in thanking Elizabeth for showing that hate and fear are no match for civility and courage.,unless you want to work on my campaign website.

    fixed that for him.

I think they forgot that if Edwards wins, then Christopher Reeves will walk again.

I think they forgot that if Edwards wins, then Christopher Reeves will walk again.

If it didn’t entail the return of Jimmy Carter, I’d pay to see that.

Where’s the sign-up, Darleen, because that Edwards sure has talent: That’s either a parody of himself, a parody of wincingly bad ad copy, somehow a voice of some pathetically insulated fraction of the country, having one’s tongue four feet up one’s cheek, or the damn best pandering seen yet in leftist campaigning (because Hilary! holds that particular bar high indeed.)

Speaking of paying to see that, in any combination, that’s some good stuff, Breck Girl. I’d vote for you just to see you top that once in office. The SOTU speeches alone would be worth it.

This is what ambition looks like in a $3000 suit and a $400 haircut.

  8. Comment by MayBee on 6/30 @ 7:48 pm #

What? It’s Elizabeth’s birthday and there’s no promise of a Mama Edwards pie recipe? John’s mother must not really love Elizabeth.

  9. Comment by Dotiros on 6/30 @ 7:51 pm #

Hey Darleen, where is that Sparkly lady? Why isn’t she posting here like you to a huge audience? With so much response to the red meat you serve up, I thought Sparkly would have been a shoe-in. You were. What’s up with that? Does Jeffy have a problem with her blog whoring?

Oh, and does JD still wet his pants on these pages along with you and Dan and Pablo?

If you want me to respond to any nonsense you might write, you’ll have to ask Jeffy to not block me.

That is all (making Dotiros face whahahha:)

Oh, look. The short bus is here.

  11. Comment by JD on 6/30 @ 8:27 pm #

Pablo – It is not nice to compare doritos to those that ride the short bus, as they have a significantly higher IQ than a cornchip.

  16. Comment by Sean M. on 7/1 @ 2:47 am #

Wouldn’t it be nice if the rest of us had a bunch of dupes who would send us money (whatever they can afford!) every time someone said something about us which we deemed unpleasant? I know I don’t have those kinds of resources. Do you?

    Two Americas, indeed.

If you know somebody who needs health care, wouldn’t your money be better spent by sending your money to a charity that helps needy families to pay their medical bills than by sending it to a trial lawyer who made millions by hounding doctors out of practice? If you’ve got a relative serving in Iraq, how about spending your money to actually, you know, do something to help soldiers over there, instead of helping a slimy political opportinist? The global warming and One America stuff? Well, that shit sounds kinda fishy, so why don’t you keep your money and treat yourself to a six pack? That’ll help the local economy.

If you really feel like helping out your community without contributing to rich, insincere douchebags, try giving blood. You’ll even get free juice and cookies for your trouble.

Sean, do you realize HOW MUCH ELECTRICITY IT TAKES TO MAKE THOSE ALUMINUM CANS????!!!?!.>>?

  19. Comment by Pablo on 7/1 @ 7:38 am #

On the bright side, if Edwards is elected, we can Count on Liz to scold the likes of Chavez and Ahmadiniejad when they say mean things about her husband. Laura? Not so much.

Nonresponsive, per usual. Playground taunts and nothing more.

    As you were, children.

  21. Comment by Robin Roberts on 7/1 @ 5:03 pm #

yes, Dotiros, that is correct. Your comments were playground taunts and nothing more. If you expect a high level of discourse, you’ll have to hold up your end – which you obviously have not.

  22. Comment by JD on 7/1 @ 5:10 pm #

chipslady is complaining about the level of discourse? That is rich.

cool ranch has managed to be banned from multiple blogs for patently offensive behavior, and she is a freaking teacher. Hell, she is spelling her name different because she had been banned here previously.

I really feel for those that are forced to endure her indoctrination.

  23. Comment by JD on 7/1 @ 5:13 pm #

Nonresponsive to what, exactly? I fail to see where you made any type of point, which is simply par for the course with you.

  24. Comment by Toby Petzold on 7/1 @ 5:48 pm #

The Democrats picked Kerry to insulate themselves against charges of anti-military bias. Kerry picked Edwards to insulate himself against the possibility of becoming President. So Edwards has picked his terminally-ill wife to pick his fights for him to insulate himself against the realization that he is a user of people. Oops.

It’s time for Matlock’s and Shaun Cassidy’s lovechild to vanish into Quayledom.

  25. Comment by Great Mencken's Ghost on 7/1 @ 6:24 pm #

Want to really do something for the troops in Iraq?

  26. Comment by Cythen on 7/1 @ 7:05 pm #

Upon reading that mess, I have a simultaneous urge to barf and sing kumbaya.

“All your problems will be solved, just give me your money!”

Sounds like snake oil to me.

  27. Comment by Dotiros on 7/1 @ 10:04 pm #

Toby! I haven’t seen you around for a while. Toby never gets banned from sites; he’s simply allowed to spew his ripe words and then gets a thrashing.

JD — yes, I teach. Deal with it. You nor your friend Sparkly, or Jeffy for that matter (his threat — “I’ll comment on you school’s site!!!!) will dislodge me from my job because my employer looks at what I do on a daily basis, not the silly comments I leave on a silly blog.

This is a silly blog now, right? Given that anyone can comment on almost any news item on any news site, what’s the purpose of this blog, other than serving as a children’s club for children to throw shit?

    Am I wrong?

  28. Comment by JD on 7/1 @ 10:22 pm #

Wrong is a way of life for you.

Do you have anyhing resembling a point, or anything to add to the discussion? Or are incoherent ramblings the best we can hope for?

  29. Comment by Shawn on 7/1 @ 10:28 pm #

    Camradrie. Community. Communication.

There’s more benefit to disagreeing politely rather than staging a verbal assault.

Is Dotiros who I think it is? I would really like to know. In any case it sounds a little wack.

    Classic case of projection, Chips.

    I pity your students.

Chips nee Doritos is a lowlevel crank. She’d spam Rightwingsparkles blog with inane attempts to bait while, like some scrawny rooster, try to puff herself up as some sort of Civic Hero because she claimed to be teaching grade schoolers somewhere.

As long as she sticks to the 3 R’s in her classroom demeanor, I’m sure she flies under the admin radar.

Notice she never engages in anything approaching substance.

  33. Comment by RC on 7/2 @ 10:14 am #

Thanks for the Operation Gratitude link. Is there anywhere that lists the various organizations doing this type of work and VERIFIED that the groups are legit?

  34. Comment by Dotiros on 7/2 @ 10:51 pm #

Actually Darleen, I invited Sparkly to come to my school and meet adult Muslims. She was afraid and refused. You and JD tried to make her out to be brave, but you didn’t succeed. I’ll try to ask my question again: how is it that you, Darleen, get to post here, while the Sparkly won’t/can’t post here. She got run off Innocent Bystanders a few months ago.

And the other point I made, which you found in order to deny, is that this blog serves no purpose other than for a small group of people to sling shit. It’s truer now than it ever was.

Keep spinning your fabrications. It’s very entertaining.

  35. Comment by JD on 7/2 @ 11:20 pm #

chips lady drops by to babble again. Sparkle can speak for herself, but she was most certainly not afraid. How popmpous of you to think that you are the only person to know adult Muslims. The rest of your babbling does not even warrant a response, and I apologize to everyone for feeding the retarded telephone pole.

JD, sweetie, you are not to blame. I commented here before I even knew who Sparkly, you or Darleen were. Stop claiming a *burden* that you don’t even bear.

As for Sparkly, her site is still up and if I weren’t so lazy, I could go get a link to comments, but alas. She’s one of the bedwetters. I just wonder why she’s not welcome here.
