“IRS: 90% of Taxpayers Seek Help in Preparing Their Returns”

I’m sure this is just the kind of self-sufficiency and freedom from governmental intrusion the founders and framers were after.

Dear USA:  You’ve come a long way, baby!  Unfortunately, you got the direction all wrong.  Best you start doubling back, post haste.  Or you’re going to be forever lost.

  1. I use the same software Geitner uses. I don’t cheat like he does, though.

    Allegedly.

  2. Didn’t that Stansberry guy say the economy is going to go off the rails on July 1?

  3. Are they saying it like it’s a good thing or a bad thing? ‘Cause I’m hearing it like it’s a bad thing.

  4. Dems want the tax payment system to be extremely simplified, too.

Line 1: How much did you make last year? _________
Line 2: Make out a check in the amount of Line 1 and submit to IRS.

  5. I’ll go along with the general tendency of the comments here and agree that that 90% figure says more about the complexities of the tax code than it does about the the tax payer.
