More Leftist Tolerance: “That space is not for white people. That space is for people of color.”
You just don’t belong, honky
OLYMPIA, Wash. — An attempt to fight racism at a community college may have backfired.
A group of employees at South Puget Sound Community College sent out an invitation to all 300 staffers.
The “Staff, Faculty and Administrators of Color” encouraged employees to reply to the invitation to find out the confidential date and time of what was being called a “happy hour” to “build support and community” for people of color.
The invite made it clear white people were not invited.
The email read: “If you want to create space for white folks to meet and work on racism, white supremacy, and white privilege to better our campus community and yourselves, please feel free to do just that.”
“It was obviously a mistake,” said SPSCC’s Dean of College Relations, Kellie Purce Braseth.
The first mistake is to assume this was “an error.” The second is to assume this had anything to do with “fighting racism.”
Strengthening group identity based on melanin, denigrating The Other based on melanin and enforcing group-think as a measure of authenticity is the practice of racism, not its antithesis.
And it’s not like Karama Blackthorn, Diversity and Equity Center staffer and invitation author sees anything wrong with segregation.
“That space is not for white people,” she told KING-TV. “That space is for people of color.”
In hindsight, Blackhorn said, she wouldn’t have used the exact words she used.
Not that Leftist racism is new, it just kept itself cloaked in rhetoric and faux congeniality or concern trolling towards those it set up as Evil Other. (see: White privilege) It’s just the blatancy of in-your-face segregation is cause for at least a raised eye-brow or two.Tags: leftism, racism
