  1. You know where they have free health care for everyone, legal or otherwise?

    Jail.

  2. It’s hard to say free, whereas compulsory might fit.

  3. a path to repatriation

Public health care is provided to all Mexican citizens as guaranteed via Article 4 of the Constitution.

    link

  4. we should start billing mexico for our “guests” expenses

  5. I’m legal and I refuse your demand.

  6. see now that’s just silly

    suck it up cupcake

  7. I don’t get free healthcare and I think you should go back to your respective shitholes and do your begging there.

  8. I cannot wait until the best and brightest realize that being a doctor is not worth being a slave. I shudder at the quality of doctors we’ll see once the medical school brain drain starts.

The morons who decided that putting a certain profession in chains will be surprised when they find out that really smart people can make a living in just about any profession.

  9. really smart people can make a living in just about any profession.

Now might be a good time for them to begin study of military strategy, since such services are going to be in high demand in the near future.

  10. you know I run into attractive illegal immigrants every freaking day here in california

beautiful people, many many of them

why did they just pick the homely ones for the psa?

hola i’m illegal ugly and prone to illness will you be my friend?

well actually mariposa that’s kind of a big ask right now

    yeah. But buenos suerte chica.

  11. Off Topic, but interesting observation by Maggie Gallagher. Since the Social Truce has been a matter of occassional contention around here, I thought I’d quote from it.

There is lot of conservative political money coming from people who care about life and marriage and religious liberty, but they gave it all this election cycle to the “truce” strategy of Karl Rove — with no ads run on any social issue — so it’s invisible. And there was no visible, organized reaction to Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage. So now, naturally, Republican elites are giving serious thought to dumping not only this issue, but life and every other “social issue” which are being blamed for the failure of the political-consultant-driven “truce” strategy of running only on the economy. It makes no sense, even if you accept the political premise that social issues don’t “work” any more. (Since we don’t use them, how would we know?)

How these political elites imagine retreating to the party of Gerald Ford as the path forward I don’t know. It is classic “scapegoating” in the sense that it’s distracting from looking at the central failure of the last election — the failure of Romney’s economic message to connect with voters. As a full-spectrum conservative I’m frankly concerned that we are witnessing the meltdown of the conservative movement, by poll-driven consultants who have failed to win the last two elections but are advising our candidates how they too can fail to win in the next election.

  12. Team R needs to step up the squackering about gay marriage

people aren’t feeling their passion on this issue sufficiently, and that’s a shame cause this issue is a Big Winner for Team R

chop chop people let’s flood that zone

  13. “and that’s a shame cause this issue is a Big Winner for Team R”

Yeah ’cause you’re the big authority on winning messages n’ shit. You’ve earned that rep you slang around.

  14. so go ahead

squacker on about the gay marriagings

apparently there’s a niche for that sort of thing Team R isn’t filling

yup that’s the white house you smelling dawg

  15. My point in quoting Gallagher wasn’t about gay marriage per se, it was about putting all of our eggs into the basket of fiscal conservatism.

Is defending traditional marriage a winning issue? One would think so when 41 states have adopted provisions to do just that. But the ruling class doesn’t think it is, so we retreat, and lose. By default.

Obama was reelected on social issues, because that’s what motivated his base. Republicans would do well to remember that going forward.

  16. Republicans would do well to remember that going forward.

    this we agree on

  17. You’ll forgive me if I remain dubious as to your sincerity.

  18. Be careful of what you wish for, peeps, you may just get it.

The Government will this week publish its full response to the Francis report into the hospital trust, where up to 1,200 patients died needlessly due to appalling care.

  19. Silver Whistle: While I’m not a doctor, Sir David looks to be in bad shape to me. Perhaps it’s time for the “Liverpool Care Pathway”.

  20. You could certainly play one on TV, SBP. I concur with your diagnosis and recommended treatment.

  21. If SCOTUS gives SSM the Roe v. Wade, all hellfire will break loose in the GOP.

A whole new generation of Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons has been waiting in the wings for a new issue. And it is Team R’s SSM Chamberlains who will throw gasoline on their brimstone, if the Court strikes down Prop. 8.

  22. Somebody send that metaphor-laden comment to Taranto. It’ll keep him busy a while.

  23. Prop 8 passed in fucking California yet somehow we’re losing elections because of gay marriage? If so the electorate is goddamned schizoid (or maybe just profoundly stupid) and we’re all screwed, forever.

  24. Offered without comment.

    23.READY?

    OK!

gay marriage you so fine you so fine you blow my mind

    gay marriage!

    hey hey

    gay marriage!

  25. GAY MARRIAGE FUCK YEAH!!!!

    hey let’s build a pyramid

  26. hey let’s build a pyramid

    Is that a euphemism?

  27. “Is that a euphemism?”

    Why yes, yes it is.

He thinks he is more intelligent than most.

  28. “Walker and Olson’s partner have not responded to requests for comment.”

    Awkward.

  29. “you know I run into attractive illegal immigrants every freaking day here in california

beautiful people, many many of them”

Too bad it’s not just your birthrights they are stealing. Remind us once again, how many live with you.

  30. Of course, since this is a particularly foul liberal dream-fart, “Comments are disabled for this video”.

“Guess what? Since you revile me for my stand on not infringing the basic human right to keep and bear arms, including Mexicans and all the rest, I give not the bloody crap from a diseased rat’s rotting ass about your proglodyte ‘issues’. Piss off, and stop demanding my tax money to tell me what a racist sexist pig I am.”

  31. I’m a legal citizen, and I demand that you give me a blow job.

  32. It is classic “scapegoating” in the sense that it’s distracting from looking at the central failure of the last election — the failure of Romney’s economic message to connect with voters.

Uh huh. ‘Cuz it was totally Romney’s “economic message” that failed to connect with voters.

Liberty is a winning message, with universal popularity. It could unite a huge proportion of the electorate, if we’d just give it a chance.

  33. liberty is my favorite

  34. Liberty is a winning message, with universal popularity. It could unite a huge proportion of the electorate, if we’d just give it a chance.

Hard for a technocrat to sell something he doesn’t really believe in, isn’t it?

  35. Yup. Just as it’s hard for a child to take his own toys away.

  36. “yup that’s the white house you smelling dawg”

Yeah, following your advice has scored the GOP so effin’ much. Ya’s totes relevant. To somebody. Somewhere. Losers mostly. Like a boss. Who loses.

  37. “hey let’s build a pyramid”

Hey let’s take another header into yet another damp smelly ditch. Go for the hat trick.

  38. “so go ahead
squacker on about the gay marriagings”

You’re the guy bringing gay marriage up though. Not me. Why complain about squackering as you continue to squacker? And what the fuck did you win again that validates your advice as y’know…useful in any way? Where’s the pay off?
