…it turns out, is no less true a principle than is teaching an enormous continent to fish.
Which is to say, progressive altruism is a myth and beyond that, a deeply damaging notion.

I find this all the more remarkable because it arrives by way of the Enlightened Progressive Class itself, presented on what is largely their stage. Further, the presenter speaks from the pain of experience and having won that experience the hard way, points out the bullshit of the usual alternative, as he puts it, which is to swamp the system — any system it touches — with “progress”.
With thought, behavior, and systems alien to the human mind and soul.
Conventional wisdom instructs that we shouldn’t chalk up to corruption what’s actually incompetence. I challenge that assertion more and more these days. I suggest that the ignorance of uninvestigated progressivism is no less a willful character defect than is the dysfunction of the uninvestigated life. All politics is local and in a real sense, are all corrupt.

The cynic in me says: not by accident.

Lack of introspection is the hallmark of the leftist. No questioning of what they believe; why they believe it; or whether it’s factually, logically, or morally right or wrong.
I think people, at birth, may have different levels of subjectivity to indoctrination, peer-pressure, and brainwashing. Just as they say that some are more easily hypnotized than others.
Repeated, routine disuasion from “looking too closely” at their own beliefs is part of the brainwashing. As is the disabling of any capacity to critically analyze any viewpoint.

Legal, above board, ‘democratized’ entrepeneurship maybe. But the world works differently in the shadows.
That was a good talk. I’m sure, however, that many who watch it will miss the overarching point.
