“Feminists” are funny [Darleen Click]

First off, I call “bullshit” on this post, being written by an active duty military man.

Military entertainment promoting rape?

This upcoming Christmas will be the 2nd holiday season I will have been deployed overseas in support of this so-called War on Terrorism. The first time I was here, I was a younger Soldier, and did not know much about the feminism that I eventually found and grew to love.

This time, back and armed with a feminism perspective (among other things), I am starting to see a lot of the things that should have bothered me, and things that I see as being a big contribution to the incidences of rape in the military.

Each holiday, those “appreciative” of the services rendered by military personnel often come into our areas of operations to entertain us; these include pro athletes, celebrities and comedians. But each year, it seems, these Morale, Welfare and Recreation events also include entertainment that’s questionable – cheerleaders, Hooters girls and other scantily-dressed women, whose purpose is simply to entertain Soldiers (need I say male?) and be eye-candy.

The post is full of phrases that just don’t ring authentic from someone in uniform. IE “so-call War on Terror”. Is there any active duty military personnel deployed overseas that doesn’t “get” jihadism? Especially after Ft. Hood?

Another thing, the writer mentions “Hooter girls” and no where do they appear among the Armed Forces Entertainment performers. Cheerleaders do, but I certainly have never considered NFL cheerleaders as “adult” entertainment.

Yet, each year, this happens over and over again – conventionally beautiful women entertain sex-starved Soldiers who are already working in an environment in which traditional masculinity runs amok. Is it too much of a stretch, then, to think that these males, watch these women and objectify them, and then, in turn, objectify their own sisters in arms, making it much easier for them to rape? [...]

For all its problems and the way it’s scrambling to try to stop sexual assaults in theater, the very least the military can do is put a stop to these peep shows.

To delve into the comment section there is to incredulously view the attempts to square all the conflicting assertions about rape, sexuality (male and female) and choice.

Indeed, women can chose anything they want, except to be cheerleaders. Or stay-at-home moms. Or shave their legs. Or be conservative on anything.

Funny.

Related, Jill thinks a tax on plastic surgery is just fine because, you know, that is an elective procedure that is really a “luxury”. Jill also thinks elective abortions should be paid for by everyone but the woman chosing to have it.

Heh.

I wonder where the cave is that marc lives in when he is not “deployed overseas”?

Abortions are really cheap enough to where the dirty socialists could easily pay for all of them by themselves. They get a thrill I think out of asserting that Christians what believe abortion is wrong should pay pay pay for them. America’s state radio NPR loves the idea of communal responsibility for abortions. It’s creepy how much in love with the idea they are. The idea of a communal responsibility for the abortions and also the radio propaganda about the communal responsibility for abortions I mean.

The American government is not a big supporter of economic freedom and personal liberty and human dignity anymore. You can see this in so many ways it’s like they’re not even trying to pretend.

I think the main theme of this administration, Darleen, is that one has a claim on the fruits of everyone’s labor but ones own. Think of it as Leviathan in service of a Hobbesian war of all against all.

“The idea of a communal responsibility for the abortions and also the radio propaganda about the communal responsibility for abortions I mean.”

Does NPR ever balance itself with thoughts of the communal responsibility of the to-be-abortion-seekers taking communal responsibility for communal fucking, so to spread the wealth around? I think NPR could maybe do that, don’t you?

I think snowy’s proven, Darleen, that there are indeed those in the military that don’t “get” it.

I wonder if one of those donors was the good Dr. Hasan.

We’ll never know, after The One was elected, the FEC refused to investigate his donation irregularities.

They should censor the internet so those rapist killbots will not be tempted to rape people. Oh, and everyone knows cheerleaders are adult entertainment and routinely cause killbots to want to rape people. Good Allah.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Snowy’s right about the comparative donations of military personnel (Center for Reponsive Politics confirms), in-theatre and out, which I submit to a cluelessness of those donors to Obama. Either that, or they’re making a shrewd career move insofar as knowing that appeasing the jihad will surely guarantee further need for their services in the coming years. Take your pick.

There are Soldiers who don’t get jihadism. They are a minority, but they are there.

We’ve had Hooters Girls at Camp Phoenix, Bagram Airbase, and Kandahar Air Field to my direct knowledge. Even then, they are NOT “adult” entertainment. That isn’t allowed. Never has been.

Don’t know if you’ve ever read the newspaper comic strip 9 Chickweed Lane (et seq.), but the current story arc pertains, I think.

The original author capitalizes “Soldier.” Not a convention one sees regularly adopted by those outside the service.

Nice try, snowy, but your own source says it ain’t so:

The cases involved members of the military who were victims or accused of the assaults. The military counts rape, nonconsensual sodomy, indecent assault and attempts to commit any of those as sexual assault, though the 17-page report contained no data on how many of each were reported.

  16. Comment by newrouter on 11/21 @ 5:41 pm #

“About 1.5% of the woman serving in the U.S. military are raped each year.”

    you lie

  17. Comment by Darleen on 11/21 @ 5:48 pm #

    snotty

where did I say rape was a feminist problem?

You have 10 minutes to source your assertion with a direct quote from me, then you are banned from this thread.

    snotty also misses

involved members of the military who were victims or accused of the assaults

so incident TOTAL includes both VIC and PERP.

    prove it moonbat

  23. Comment by Jeffersonian on 11/21 @ 7:14 pm #

Even if you use the lower number, woman serving in the U.S. military are 8 times as likely as their civilian counterparts to be raped.

If you’re relying on the MSNBC story you linked for this assertion, you’ve outrun your facts, Snowy. It said no such thing.

RTO Trainer – you said, “That isn’t allowed. Never has been.”

Actually, at many places, at least in the Army, there were topless dancers at some of the on post clubs. They started going away when GEN Wickham was CoS (83-7). One could also have a beer at lunch and not go to hell.

Just a couple of fun facts about The Olden Days.

Sweeties down on bended knees sucking off the smooth-taking-bad-boy-in chief’s magnificence because he gives her a pat on the head while promising her loads of government freebies is the definition of Feminism.

I am woman hear me roar, get the Feminists Government-whores away from my door.

I call bullshit on this “letter”. I am active duty and I have been overseas numerous times and have seen the shows to include the cheerleaders. If it is a legit letter, it’s by one of those periodic moonbats that use their service to advance their social chip on the shoulder agenda i.e. cheerleading is degrading to women etc. I think someone has Vietnam confused with current events.

Next thing this guy will complain about is the offensive language those MWR comics use and how it promotes racism in the ranks.

Actually, Hooters has sent more girls to the Persian Gulf than Congress has Representatives… and the troops are a lot happier to see them.
