Brilliant. [JHoward]

Simply brilliant.

…the Obama Administration is financing oil exploration off Brazil.

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

[Policy] doesn’t allow the U.S. to explore in Alaska or along the East and West Coasts, which could be our equivalent of the Tupi oil fields, which are set to make Brazil a leading oil exporter. Americans are right to wonder why Mr. Obama is underwriting in Brazil what he won’t allow at home.

That has Soros’s fingerprints all over it. Daddy Soros has a tiny little hungarian hardon for dirty socialists in South America.

Change!, only the kind I can’t believe is true…C’mon, this is some of that “Literature of the Absurd”, right? Or, maybe Firesign Theater or Monty Python?

Gee, that trade defecit thing, you know, the phenomenon where all our national wealth keeps going out of our nation instead of in, has worked out so well with China and the Arabs that we’re going to do it with the Brazilians now too..?

Really, between this, the Chinese drilling under licensce from Cuba just 50 miles off of Florida, and the de facto absolute prohibition of drilling for our own sources, or exploiting the shale and tar sands deposits, is astonishing and makes me need to duct tape my head to keep it from exploding…

I mean, who need the cap-n-trade connivance when we can simply redistribute our national wealth this way; to nations like the Chinese and Arabs who essentially dislike us…

Must be more of that new kind of politics; that, and Smart Power!

The little president man has him plenty of pet Republican whores. Meghan’s coward daddy for example has more than done his part to prevent our little country from producing oil. It’s a big part of why the little president man is the little president man and Meghan’s coward daddy is a smudged footnote in history.

  13. Comment by Kresh on 11/17 @ 8:31 pm #

So of course since the Ex-Im bank has explained that it was a unanimous decision by the 3 republicans and 2 democrats on the board to fund this, etc…

How long have you been trolling here? You think you would have learned by now that because a republican did it doesn’t mean we’re gonna let it wash under the bridge. We’re not lying little mind-dead socialists here.

    *facepalm*

You’re a troll. I forgot. You don’t care, you’re just here to hear your own voice and pretend to speak truth to the unwashed masses.

Oh cool, American taxpayer dollars to make jobs for Brazil and STILL keep American energy outside of this country.

and with Obama refusing to turn on the water in CA’s Central Valley, FOOD is going to be something we need to import, too.

  15. Comment by Joe on 11/17 @ 8:39 pm #

I know this much, being an American wildcatter in Brazil would be friggin awesome. Even if you are out on the rig for weeks at a time, you have to come into port eventually.

Yeah, but that means they’re using our money. We’re mostly insane for not drilling the shit out of our oil, especially when unicorn powered cars are just around the corner, next to the wind powered airliners.

American taxpayer dollars to make jobs for Brazil and STILL keep American energy outside of this country.

Um, our tax dollars are going to jobs in the very Red States that make the oil drilling equipment.

Oh, I forgot: “conservative” = somebody on the government payroll who whines about government spending.

  20. Comment by JD on 11/17 @ 8:48 pm #

How do you manage to feed yourself, snotnose?

Simple concept – Barcky and his minions ban Activity A, an activity that would generate lots of jobs and energy domestically, and then proceed to spend taxpayers dollars to fund Activity A for another country. Defend that, snotnose.

  21. Comment by happyfeet on 11/17 @ 8:50 pm #

The little president man actually canceled job-creating oil leases here in our little country. He did it the very first week he moved into our little White House. Probably cause he knew Brazil needed the equipment.

  22. Comment by Pablo on 11/17 @ 8:55 pm #

Oh, like He canceled our guilty pleading filthy murdering scumbag trials so he could move them to New York.

He did that on his first day.

Oh good Allah. It is something Barcky did. Period. End of discussion. He cancelled the contracts that happyfeet referenced above, and now we are funding the exact same thing for Brazil. Only a lying fucking asshole like you and snotnose would try to defend that.

Right. He’s not responsible for ANY action of his administration.

His job is just to look pretty and read the words that appear on the little teleprompter thingie.

I hope he studies up on Brazilian etiquette before he visits, ’cause bending over in front of those tranny hookers they have down there would be embarassing, no matter how much he’d enjoy it.

Back on topic for a moment (you’re welcome, JHo). I seem to remember a flurry of news a couple of years back, about the Chinese buying up drilling rights around the Caribbean basin. The concern was that they would be drilling oil fields that extended into our territorial waters, but which our greenies had gotten the government to put off limits for us to exploit.

  46. Comment by SBP on 11/17 @ 10:08 pm #

and with Obama refusing to turn on the water in CA’s Central Valley, FOOD is going to be something we need to import, too.

Oh, he’ll turn it back on once all the farmers have lost their land to his government-controlled banks. They’ll rename the Central Valley People’s Collective Vegetable Farm #911 or something like that.

Worked brilliantly in the Ukraine, circa 1932-33, or so I hear.

How does the partisan make-up of this Board change the fact that this was done under Barcky’s watch, after he had banned same domestically, and revoked the licenses? Do you use kevlar or titanium to keep your head from assploding?

  49. Comment by B Moe on 11/17 @ 10:13 pm #

The Ex-Im bank is an independent agency. At the time this was voted on, there was a 3-2 GOP-DEM leadership. Likely once Obama made it 2-3, it would still have gone on and made this loan.

Obama is only responsible for private banks. He doesn’t have anything to do with the government. You guys really need to pay more attention.

#53, #54: Right. Obama and the Dems aren’t responsible for dick, even though they control both the executive and legislative branches. Conversely, anything bad that happens is the fault of Bush and the Republicans, even though Bush hasn’t been in office for nearly a year and the Republicans haven’t controlled Congress for going on three.
