Obama “bows deeply” [Darleen Click] UPDATED: Attention Leftists! UPDATED again

“I think I lost a contact lens”

Oh, for heaven’s sake, where the hell was Barry’s protocol officer?

… finally, apologies demand a 90 degree bow…

Clinton didn’t get any passes for his nod and shoulder shrug

But the “thou need not bow” commandment from the State Department’s protocol office maintained a constancy of more than 200 years. Administration officials scurried to insist that the eager-to-please President had not really done the unthinkable.

“It was not a bow-bow, if you know what I mean,” said Ambassador Molly Raiser, the chief of protocol.

“Maybe it’s time for Valerie Jarrett to speak truth to bower.” Mark Steyn

I’m sure there are a lot of liberal bloggers burning up the Google servers trying to find an image of Bush doing this. Hopefully for their credibility they can find something better than Bush leaning over to have a medal placed around his neck.

Also, I guess given this we can now assume that idea that the idea Obama was just picking something up off the floor when he bowed to Saudi King Abdulah is um, no longer operative.

This is just classic facepalm stuff from Teh Once.

At least President GHW Bush had the excuse of gastroenteritis.

More like he does it because he’s a community organizer, not a President. He’ll only ever be a community organizer, his stature is so far below that of a world leader.

So your theory is that a President of the USA is going to become an international embarrassment in order to piss off his domestic political rivals?

Wow, I think so much better of Barry now!

  6. Comment by sdferr on 11/14 @ 12:16 pm #

Wouldn’t his thinking about having the Emp. and Emp.-wifey bow to his own great self be a kind of double switchback hf? I mean his own great self derives its very greatness from being or thinking itself superiorly unsuperior in the world, though none of that is guaranteed to make any sense except in the mind of the superiorly unsuperior which is an impossible place to get to for those of us who just aren’t.

So it was manners that caused Obama to bow down, conehead? That was a much lower bow than ‘manners’ call for.

You’d think he was wearing chains or something.

There’s good manners, and there is indicating that you are the inferior in the relationship. Even the Japanese understand that Obama should not have bowed to them. Learn some more about the Japanese and their customs before you open your gob, retard.

    Good manners:

It isn’t every day that you can see an American president leaving the prime minister of an allied government twisting in the wind for weeks before deciding to grant him an audience at the White House.

It isn’t every day that a visiting leader from a strategically vital US ally is brought into the White House in an unmarked van in the middle of the night rather than greeted like a friend at the front door; is forbidden to have his picture taken with the president; is forced to leave the White House alone, through a side exit; and is ordered to keep the contents of his meeting with the president secret.

Good manners are never an embarrassment.

The problem with your theory is that it doesn’t reflect reality, snotty: Liberals applaud these “manners” you speak of because such are actually code for multiculturalism — this I know and this you know. If you were liberal, you’d reject any cowtowing to royalty by any American.

Yes, as was pointed out in thread that turned to this subject, that weak-kneed multiculturalism is both historically insensitive and an affront to liberalism.

Or do you support castes and classes and royalty, along with many other “progressives”?

But we’re not done yet. Multiculturalism aims to restore all parties to light and grace, notwithstanding the simple, brutal trajectory of the aliberal community – that bulk of the world’s peoples who have labored from birth to premature death under various tyrannies. That thing that the modern, progressive, western, political liberal simply and eternally denies, much as the dysfunctional deny their conflicts and the substance abuser his habit.

Six years ago, the regime in Tehran executed the same policies, and was driven by the same ideology, as today. And the same Western political elites tried everything in their power to distort the perception of their counterparts in Tehran in order to avoid the harsh truth: the mullahs want to crown Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution with a nuclear weapon.

At the time, it was as clear, as it is now, that the three European ministers involved lied to themselves and to us. On their flight back, they knew that the surprising agreement they took home wasn’t even worth the paper it was printed on, but it was better to pretend that the mullahs were guys like them rather than accept the stubborn reality that some value systems and some concepts of human dignity are incompatible.

The hardcore establishment of the Islamic Republic only feels revulsion for the decadent and infidel Western diplomats who come begging for some cooperation. The mullahs know that the Western media and the political organizations to which these politicians belong will never allow the threat of a violent confrontation over Iran’s nuclear program, so year after year they smilingly welcomed these straw puppets and enjoyed themselves, using the simple tricks they practiced to gain precious time.

The example refers to Iran and not Japan. Yet the principle lost to us via our lost President is identical: We are who we are, an exception to the planet’s business as usual. To deny that — even in and to now-friendly Japan — denies what we stand for, and it does so not for the sake of “manners”, but for the sake of a weak multiculturalism that has yet to pay its first dividend.

The best way to project abroad who we are is for our President to represent our values and with them, our freedoms and liberties, those principles we’ll die for and we’ll die for defending others like us. In this we’re not actually American, but America is our vehicle. With these episodes Obama at best frequently spits us in the eye. At worst, he endangers the West.

If you’d like to present evidence that the West owes the global community an apology for anything from empire-building to exploitation to monetary harm, then do so. But don’t defend what has nothing to do whatsoever with bettering the lives of other of the world’s citizens and has everything to do with the President himself sticking a shiv in the American ideal of freedom and liberty. He isn’t responsible for whatever image you want to think the country presented in the past, he isn’t capable of reforming — or responsible for even managing — the actions of every ugly American tourist, he doesn’t speak for the American individual, and he’s obviously all about weakening the one thing he should be projecting and enforcing.

Among the world’s powers clearly Obama is already roundly disrespected. Prostrating himself to foreign powers in the name of manners only worsens that grave liability.

this little president man was merely the fruition of a media and marketing campaign that had precious little to do with who he actually was… he was just a suitable whore… and he has made of our presidency an office of whores I think. It’s not that radical. Merely following suit with our abjectly gay gay gay and pitiful neo-fascist Congress. Don’t forget the Republican nominee was as wanton a whore as you could ever hope to find. Ran on a platform of cap-n-trade, he did. Who is it that can scrub the office of the stain of whorishness? Palin? Romney? Huckabee?

    We’re so screwed.

the idea that the media could ensconce their little whore in our White House and have it be without consequence to the esteem in which the office is held is extremely quixotic, no? The dirty socialist media and their pliant whore broke the social contract I think. The cult of Palin is a manifestation of the neo-tribalism what you get when your social contract gets brokened.

I wish it could have waited til later for all this to happen.

Or why a black man bowing down to the titular head of a country which is one of the most racist places on Earth is the “progressive” thing to do.

Or why you apparently still believe that anyone here takes your incompetent crapweaseling seriously.

Obama is on course to be even a worse President then Carter…that’s saying a lot.

But he is still the President of the USA. Period. That makes him our President.

I will oppose his anti-American policies with every fiber. I couldn’t stand Billy Jeff, but at least his neurotic need to be loved above all else made him govern closer to the center. Barry’s all encompassing narcisism makes him believe he’s loved enough that he can govern as far left as he wants.

But he is still (like Billy Jeff and Jhimmi Carter) my President.

And I’m sorry to wax despairing today but I think that’s the first step towards acceptance, which, I think we might have to accept that in the future you pledge allegiance to your little flag at your own peril. That’s where this little train is heading so far anyway. The little president man’s Newsweek’s cover of Palin today serves notice that any standard bearer that might emerge from the right will be destroyed by the little president man’s media. That’s not the same as living in a democracy.

  78. Comment by happyfeet on 11/14 @ 3:29 pm #

He truly believes the Founding Fathers “missed” some things (his utopian ideals) and he is just the “fulfillment” of his own imaginings.

He is, of course, wrong. Deadly wrong. But he was still elected, still the CinC and still the President of the USA.

looks like back to drawing board for mr axelrod’s monster:

“Here is one of many websites that illustrates how to bow in Japan. The one thing that virtually everyone who teaches bowing etiquette stresses is under no circumstance try to combine a bow with a handshake.

The Emperor appears to smile, which is something polite Japanese are taught to do when embarrassed. Unlike just about everyone who comes into the Emperor’s presence, Obama obviously received no instruction on Imperial etiquette. (Note: The Japanese take their monarch and etiquette in general about 100 times more seriously than do the British.)

That’s fine with me. I wouldn’t like our president to receive such instructions from a foreign entity. But he obviously did not indicate to any of the American embassy staff, nor to any aides familiar with Japan that he intended to bow, and bow deeply. Anyone with about two days’ familiarity with Japan knows about bowing. The average person in Japan bows dozens of times a day. You see it everywhere.

Another fundamental precept of the ordinary bow: it must be reciprocated. To do otherwise is a grave insult. Yet, we see in this short video clip that the Emperor did not even nod his head. To be honest, I am not sure the Emperor is ever supposed to bow back to anyone. He is, after all, according to Shinto, a god.”

That is one way Japanese people deal with breaches of etiquette, especially from the powerful who are also ignorant. But the end resilt is that Obama has been snubbed royally. Imperially, in fact.

All in all, a disgrace. The only redeeming feature is that at least he did not bow his head and bend his knee, as he did with the Saudi monarch.”

““As America’s first Pacific president,” said President Obama in Tokyo, “I promise you that this Pacific nation will strengthen and sustain our leadership in this vitally important part of the world.”

It is true that the president was born in Hawaii (sorry, birthers), lived from ages six to ten in Indonesia, and attended a Honolulu prep school. But he is not our first Pacific president. Richard Nixon was born in California in 1913, and spent much more of his life in the Pacific region than the current president has. Moreover, while Barack Obama made his career in Chicago and Springfield, Ronald Reagan made his in Los Angeles and Sacramento.

And the incumbent is hardly the first chief executive to have lived in another Pacific Rim country. William Howard Taft was governor-general of the Philippines. Dwight Eisenhower had military postings in the Philippines and the Panama Canal Zone. Herbert Hoover worked as a mining engineer in Australia and China; he even learned to speak Mandarin. Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and Bush 41 all served in the Pacific during the Second World War. What they did as adults was perhaps more consequential than what Obama did as a child.”

And, to make matters even worse, He did this BEFORE going to the PRC. The SCM in China will have a field-day with this.

To the average Chinese: he ‘appears’ subservient to the Japanese, especially if he doesn’t render a similar bow to Hu [and yes, it will be perceived as an insult.]

To the Party Elites seeing this: he’s a uncultured fool with absolutely no sense of ‘face’.

In the ‘world’ of Asian culture, that’s a disaster on a level I can barely begin to explain to you. To put it bluntly, in the eyes of PRC’s ruling-elite, any credibility Obama had as a ’state’ leader, is gone.

Oh, don’t worry. They’ll go thru the motions and treat him as a ‘head of state’, but behind closed doors, amongst themselves they’ll regard him as little better than a land-less peasant, or worse, a self-effacing bureaucratic ‘toady’.

I think self-effacing bureaucratic toady is a pretty good descriptor.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: No, there were three sets of questions, right? You asked about North Korea?

How pathetic. In fact, though, it’s probably just as well Obama didn’t say what he really thought. In his speech on nuclear proliferation in Prague, Obama at least suggested that Truman did the wrong thing by bringing World War II to a decisive end:

See, that’s you Big D, saying what you believe to be so or what you may hope Obama would believe.

She asked what the correct diplomatic answer should be.

If they asked me my answer would have been, “You had designs on world domination and we ended those. Your country was responsible for untold death and destruction. Come to terms with your own history before asking for any explanation. In short, you screwed with the wrong people. Next?”

But then, I don’t have to be diplomatic.

Establish our reputation as what, cynn?

That’s a serious question, BTW. We have covered a lot of ground in this thread. I’m curious as to what you think the president is trying to establish and do you think it was a good idea to do what he did today.

  189. Comment by Harry S Truman on 11/14 @ 9:18 pm #

  191. Comment by cynn on 11/14 @ 9:25 pm #

I think it is fine what he did. I also think it was appropriate to exhibit deference in the other outrageous instances. America is no longer the swift nimble beast you think it is. I believe it to be a massive, lumbering slug that is trying to attach itself to whatever means of capital that it can find.

  192. Comment by SBP on 11/14 @ 9:49 pm #

SFAG: So what does protocol or diplomcay say the answer should be here?

Next time don’t murder five million people and launch an unprovoked attack on the United States?

You’re not having much luck at crapweaseling tonight, are you, SFAG?

  193. Comment by Big D on 11/14 @ 9:54 pm #

Thanks for the answer, cynn. Your choice of the word deference is interesting. Here is the definition from Webster:

    Main Entry: def·er·ence
    Pronunciation: \ˈde-fə-rən(t)s, ˈdef-rən(t)s\
    Function: noun
    Date: 1660

: respect and esteem due a superior or an elder; also : affected or ingratiating regard for another’s wishes

An elder perhaps, but a superior? That is where we part company, cynn. What he did today is the equivalent of dipping the national colors. That I can not accept from any president.

I may not like him much, but he is my president, the head of my country. When he goes overseas he represents us all. I would simply like him to act like he’s the head of the most powerful nation on earth rather than the leader of just one of many. Seeing as how all presidents before him, both Republican and Democrat, got that right, it’s not too much to ask.

  194. Comment by Big D on 11/14 @ 9:55 pm #

Not to say that is correct, I’m rather indifferent.

Of course you are. It happened before 1/20/09 therefore it is irrelevant.

Patching up to do with Japan? Bush maintained amazing relations with Japan, cynn. Weaktard is not all about strengthening our successful alliances. He could give a shit I think.

  198. Comment by sdferr on 11/14 @ 10:04 pm #

Would only that the man could do better by our allies, as opposed to slapping them in the face at every turn while pretending to be their bestest friend ever, he could have all the ceremonial fluff he wanted. Far from patching up though, he seems to be intent on turning stable and mutually profitable relationships to shite, all to suit his overblown estimation of himself and his reckoning of his great works in the world.

Big D: We have a lot of patching up to do. Allow the president some ceremonial fluff.

This is why I like you, cynn. We can disagree without being disgreeable. I wasn’t aware that we had a problem with Japan. Had he given a slight bow as to an equal, I would have no problem. What he did was bow as a subordinate and that is unacceptable behavior for a president.

  202. Comment by Big D on 11/14 @ 10:09 pm #

In case you missed it upthread, cynn. Here are some examples of other heads of state greeting the emperor. You can be respectful and polite without being subservient.

  203. Comment by SBP on 11/14 @ 10:10 pm #

So why shouldn’t Obamas honoe the Emperor with a bow?

Because he is President of the United States.

  204. Comment by Bob Reed on 11/14 @ 10:12 pm #

meya/RD you’ve lost all credibility since Jeff G discovered that deleting one of your comments seemed to magically delete the others party’s also. Is RD your alter ego, or is it more of a <mental thing?

Not to say that is correct, I’m rather indifferent.

Why is it I get the impression that you are a member of the, “America was an eeeeeevollll nation that needed to be put in her place!1!1!!eleventy; until, of course, his O!-ness descended from moun Obamus to, rightly so, apologize to the world for our unfair bullying, acting in our national interests *shudder-gasp*, using an unfair amount of energy, and hoarding an unfair amount of wealth which, in all fairness, should be distributed evenly among the poor people of Africa, Asia, and the rest of the third world that were bullied by those meanie, h8tey, white males…”

Indiffernce is the problem, both individuals as well as Obama’s; dithering while America metaphorically “burns”…

  205. Comment by Kresh on 11/14 @ 10:12 pm #

You don’t have to go as far as actively saying something that denies there was a war, but you can just politely not address killing tens if not hundreds of thousands of people.

…and your answer to The Baatan Death March and the Rape of Nanking is, Emperor? Oh, you’re not talking about the Emperor of Japan are you.

This moron is one reason why it will take another generation to re-establish this nation’s reputation.

Actually, you’re the moron. See, Japan, much like many (see:just about all of them) other societies respect strength. America, by winning the Spirit vs. Industrialism (also known by it’s less common name; World War 2), showed Japan where they stood on the totem pole. The Japanese accepted this wholeheartedly. That’s why they became such steadfast allies after we NUKED THEM. We showed who was stronger, and they understood that, and were happy with their place in the world. Mind you, this according to their societal values, not yours, or mine.

Thus, in an uncertain time, when China is becoming ascendant through both economic and military power, and is willing to flex this power, Japan has cause to be worried. We are their shield. By treaty and social convention, we have assumed the responsibility for protecting Japan. Now, President O! has upset the apple cart by showing the people he’s supposed to be protecting that he doesn’t know how to even greet their spiritual leader properly. Courtesy is simple, as is supposedly knowing your status, as in who is supposed to be following your lead. O! has shown that he isn’t sure of his status, and is therefore a weak leader. This simple faux paux has probably made the Japanese leaders, er, a tad worried about the future.

Face it, O! just destabilized Asia a wee bit further. Asia, to be honest, doesn’t believe in unicorns. They know O! is a weak horse now, even if they only suspected it before. They hold no illusion now.

  206. Comment by Big D on 11/14 @ 10:15 pm #

One of the peripheral issues I have with this is that apparently all monarchs are not equal.

You’re correct Kresh; it’s worse than Carter could have ever been. I mean, in Jeeem-uhhz day there were at least Democratic Legislators and Senators that were actually interested in national defense and America’s standing in the world…

Lord Obamus could give a tinkers damn about those things save for how they might adversely effect his electoral success; evidenced by his campaign promises to go all kill-crazy, sooper-trooper on the “good” war in Afghanistan, but which in actuality he’s willing to lose as a sop to his liberal base…

I can see why they call you an idiot. I’m not arguing my take on it from my value system. I’m noting how the Japanese (and other Asian societies) will see it, based on their values, not mine or yours. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING? See, I’ve actually done a fair bit of research on Japanese society, and by extension, other Asian societies. I’ve spent time in serious conversation with, lived with, and asked hard and involved questions of actual Japanese people who lived in Japan, about their culture and how their society thinks. Am I an expert? Probably not, at least I don’t consider myself an expert. What I do know, however, is what they think of idiot gaikoku-jin who enter their country and are ignorant of their proper polite courtesies. Based on your statements, you haven’t the slightest clue about what anyone but yourself thinks.

Fact is, O! screwed up. Nothing you say or think will change this basic fact. It is not opinion, it is fact.

You are the delusional one here. Now, stop posting until you know what the hell you’re talking about. The adults are trying to have a serious conversation here.

Foreigners are not expected to bow, as they lack the requisite knowledge of the elaborate etiquette governing this for at least 1000 years.

This BHO bow, because of its degree of declination and the shamefully rounded back, is in Japanese eyes the bow of a crippled toilet attendant to his supreme master.

The fact is that I do get it, cynn. Many here are either current or former military. Many of us have fought and some have bled for the country we love. All of us were prepared to make the supreme sacrifice or as Lincoln said, the last full measure of devotion. We love our country and have given much to prove that devotion. For us it is not theory. It is not a professor standing in a classroom. We know what this country is, what it stands for. We have seen it all. Man’s inhumanity to man is a terrible thing.

We have been in all places in the world. We come from all backgrounds and all regions of the country. We know what it is like to sacrifice and we know what it means. All we have ever asked is that sacrifice be appreciated, both by leadership and the citizenry at large.

We have seen the worst of humanity and also the best. We know what it is to lose a brother, but continue on. We did it for no other reason than we loved our other brothers and our country.

All of us, whether young or old, active or retired stand tall when the colors go by. We get a chill down the spine and the hair on our necks rises when the national anthem is played. All of us, every damn one of us who ever wore a uniform, would pick up a rifle and head out again if our country needed us.

I don’t expect you to acknowledge or even understand this. Few do. This is who we are.

Maybe this will explain the visceral reaction to the action of the CIC.

Big D was just more visceral than others. His opinion is as valid as any other. He’s also not wrong.

It’s just that O! has spent so much time making a mockery of the Office of The President through his daily gaffes, and complete ignorance of other societies and their customs(which, oddly enough, makes him more of a bumbling chicago-bred-wannabe-cowboy than Bush ever was), most of us aren’t surprised anymore. I don’t think any less of O! because of what he’s done, I just know what the ramifications will be on the political stage.

I think it just sunk in for Big D what an utter clueless tool our El Presidente is. I mean, after all, wasn’t O! supposed to be this multilateral super-Non-Going-Alone kinda guy? Wouldn’t that indicate that he knew what he was doing on the world stage? Wouldn’t that mean that he would at least try to discover what his actions mean to other cultures that he’s supposed to be getting to like us again?

Then again, I mean, Japan likes us, so fuck them. Right Cynn?

I’ve been steadily building into a classic rage all day and am now ready to erupt. Snocone, meya, and to a lesser extent cynn, let me tell you about someone very close to me. Growing up, he would not ever speak of his experiences. It was not until I had earned the right to call myself a United States Marine would he speak of his exploits.

He was the son of a dirt farmer in Nyssa, Oregon who joined the Marine Corps in January of 1941. He went in with one of his best friends with the understanding that they would get to serve in the same unit/locale. That didn’t happen. After graduating boot camp and ITS he went to fifth Marines, his buddy to the fourth. He was in California, his best friend went to Shanghai. That was the last time they saw each other. The 4th Marines were transferred to the PI as it became clear that China would fall to the Japanese. The last letter he received was from was from the PI. Whether his friend died in battle, on the death march, or in captivity is unknown. His remains were never recovered.

My Uncle first went into battle on Guadalcanal. He was in the first wave that went ashore, but that was just the beginning. He was wounded on Edson’s ridge later to be known as “Bloody Ridge” for the carnage.

He spent time on a hospital ship. but made it back into the 1st MarDiv for the invasion of Pellilieu, Saipan, and Tinian.

His final battle was on the slopes of Mt Suribachi on Iwo Jima. He told me that the funniest thing was that the briefers would always say to not worry, that naval gunfire has softened the beach. That was a bitch of a battle.

Respecting the space here, I want to offer up a small synopsis of his service.

He went out to secure a piece of real estate occupied by several Japanese. According to the citation, he attacked with absolute disregard to his own personal safety, a unit no smaller than a platoon. During the engagement, he was bayoneted in the neck. He pulled the rifle away from his opponent and defeated him with it. (He beat him to death with his own rifle as Mel put it) He was subsequently shot twice more, once in the left thigh and the right upper arm, but killed no less than 20 of the enemy. For this he was decorated with the Navy Cross.

Over the years I got much more of the detail out of him, but that is the reader’s digest version.

If he were here today and saw what the commander in chief did, the expletives would have flown.

Perhaps it is you, cynn, that just doesn’t get it.

So The United States, still a world power, has at last got a President with the good manners to accommodate the customs of other cultures. A man of real stature. His detractors are pathetic for his courtesy will bring a higher level of respect amongst the nations than their absurd pride and immaturity. WWII was only the beginning for him. The man was a fry cook, handyman, commercial fisherman, wildcatter, and held numerous other positions . Since when, I wonder, has Great Man been defined by excessive pusillanimity?

  260. Comment by alppuccino on 11/15 @ 6:55 am #

Obama is our President like a pool boy is president of Chlorine Management and Bug Removal. And he can’t even get that right.

If he was a waiter, he’d be fired by now. He’d spill so many drinks bowing to people who look royal or culturally diverse to him.

Obama is an idiot. I agree whole-heartedly with hf. How does he lead? “Oh, uh, that was Holder’s decision. Ask him.” “I, uh, am going to have to see how the election in Afghanistan turns out before I make a decision. Give me some space. Okay, I’m ready to consider making a decision about when I might consider making a decision.” “I just pooped my pants.”

The last one was a bonus quote.

So The United States, still a world power, has at last got a President with the good manners to accommodate the customs of other cultures.

    Liar.

The majority of countries with a monarchy hold their royal failies in great respect.

Maybe Blowbama should move to one of those countries, then.

Big D, thank you for #257. And thanks for sending Mel over. I miss that guy.

  265. Comment by Pablo on 11/15 @ 8:29 am #

His detractors are pathetic for his courtesy will bring a higher level of respect amongst the nations than their absurd pride and immaturity.

That is just so wrong in so many ways. Heads of state the world over just chuckled at the President of the United States. Subservient “courtesy” does not engender respect, particularly not when it is uncalled for under the well established international protocol. This is a gaffe, plain and simple.

That said, do you think Gordon Brown has gained a greater respect for Obama since his inauguration? And do you think the terms “pride” and “immaturity” factor into Brown’s opinion?

I’d ask you the same about Sarkozy, but that question’s been answered.

a President with the good manners to accommodate the customs of other cultures.

Except of course, that by attempting to bow and shake hands simultaneously, he got is shamefully and ignorantly wrong.

Not accomodating, just clueless and inept.

Thanks for sharing some of Mel’s saga with us Big D,
He was a hell of a man I’m sure, and always conducted himself here with class, aplomb, and humble courtesy; as I’m sure he was in all aspects of life. It never ceases to amaze me, the humility of great men. As a Navy cross winner, Mel was a certified hero, yet he would probably prefer to think of the men he served with, men that gave their full measure of devotion, as the real heroes…

We all stood on the backs of great men like Mel, as the current group stand on ours. We need to make sure that the next generation is provided the same firm foundation so that they can take our nation to the next level and so that all our descendants enjoy the freedom, liberty, and chances of success that we’ve had…

God Bless Mel and all like him,
    God Bless us all,
And may God bless the United States of America.

Then why bother to use proxies at all meya; why not be more “straight-up” like most of the commentariat? Unless you plan to say things in the ether of the internet that you don’t really want to be associated with…

Nice dodge on that other qhestion I posed, it wasn’t rhetorical, and I don’t think that “whitey” owes anyone anything…

And I’ll ask you to not to invoke the trail of tears in any of your rhetorical queswts for absolute moralo authority; I had ancestors involved in that one, and don’t like to see it cheapened by using it as a cudgel, thank you…

Many have gone on to serve this nation, as I have done, since then. We’ve buried the hatchet, and it’s not for others to capriciously take it up…

I’d use an event in history to illustarte your point Bob, but knowing mayas firm grasp of ignorance it would be a waste of time.

You didn’t notice that the point was that we don’t need these sorts of moral one upmanships?

Probably because you didn’t say that. If you really want people to understand you, whole paragraphs, or at least complete sentences, would be a good place to start.
