The shackles are supposed to be slave shackles?
Aah, wingnut humor…
Comment by B Moe on 11/10 @ 11:16 am #
If anybody needs an example of absolute evil.
These fucking bitches have seriously crossed the line.

Nice ‘chop, Darleen.

This is not the first time Code Pink has waged psychological warfare on our troops and military families. Four years ago the group initiated a weekly protest at the main entrance to Walter Reed Army Medical Center where Code Pink held signs reading, “Maimed for a lie” and “Enlist here and die for Halliburton.” One Veterans Day, Code Pink protesters called the wounded warriors at Walter Reed war criminals and on other occasions have called them terrorists.
Video of the Halloween protest shows members of Code Pink, including co-founder Medea Benjamin and Condoleezza Rice stalker Desiree Fairooz emotionally waterboarding the children in front of their parents.
Aah, wingnut humor…

Did someone say freedom?
Comment by Bilwick1 on 11/10 @ 12:08 pm #
The humor blog “IMAO,” in its “Random Thoughts” section today, put it another way: “Liberty sounds like a fine idea, but at the end of the day it scares people.”
Right, Snowcone?
Comment by Mark A. Flacy on 11/10 @ 12:19 pm #
No.
I’m mildly curious how you can tell “slave shackles” from the “other” kind of shackles.
Comment by JD on 11/10 @ 12:19 pm #
Alphie/yellowsnow is scared of women, liberty, freedom, and capitalism.
Comment by Joe on 11/10 @ 12:45 pm #
Dr. Obama: Taxes are good for you. Eventually so is assisted suicide. Don’t let the bad taste of the medicine fool you.
Comment by Bilwick1 on 11/10 @ 12:47 pm #
“I’m mildly curious how you can tell ’slave shackles’ from the ‘other’ kind of shackles.”
That’s easy, Mark. As I’m sure Snowcone is getting read to tell you, any shackles Obama puts on anyone are by definition GOOD shackles.
Comment by Matt on 11/10 @ 12:56 pm #
If there is an uglier group of woman, inside and out, then Code Pink, please let me know so I can give them a wide berth.
Comment by BJTexs on 11/10 @ 1:20 pm #
While we get a good, close look at Obama supporter and all around class act Code Pink, please don’t forget that Pro-Lifers are killing, KILLING, the Republican party.
Comment by LTC John on 11/10 @ 1:20 pm #
Pablo,
Bill Ayers was busy that day – so this was all those Profs could scare up on short notice…
Comment by BJTexs on 11/10 @ 1:28 pm #
Code Pink is such a blinkered, narcissistic group of heartless harpies that it boggles the mind. They would willfully cause pain and consternation to families of wounded and slain soldiers and scare the hell out of military children because they know the media will lap it up.
This is amoral camera pimping, writ large. Jesse Jackson is so proud of their technique.
Comment by Matt on 11/10 @ 1:39 pm #
BJ, it seems to me the liberals have so many crazies in their party, its basically expected – Code Pink is one of many. The pro-lifers, who are sometimes crazies but not usually, apparently stand out in a party filled with mostly normal, generally hard working people.

So, if a guy was to plant a bomb that blew up a goodly portion of the 5th Annual Colloquium on Social Change hosted by the UMass Amherst Libraries’ Department of Special Collections and University Archives, and perhaps vaporized Bill Newman, the Director of the Western Regional Office of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts in the midst of his introductory remarks, could that guy expect to be invited to speak at the 25th Annual Colloquium on Social Change hosted by the UMass Amherst Libraries’ Department of Special Collections and University Archives?
It’s just that it seems to me that if you really wanted to bring the look and feel of 60s-style revolutionary social upheaval to a contemporary audience, a real-life demonstration would be about the most effective means one could think of.
Not that I’d encourage such a thing, mind you. Encouragement to violence is the last thing today’s reactionary left needs.
Comment by Bob Reed on 11/10 @ 1:55 pm #
truth? You can’t handle the truth…
Comment by Squid on 11/10 @ 1:57 pm #
Dead babies and enslaved doctors and nurses. Yup, that’s freedom!
Comment by Lamontyoubigdummy on 11/10 @ 2:06 pm #
OH NOES!!
We have been told “the truth!”
The place you’re looking for ya big ‘ol truthy truth teller of truthiness is called Europe. Just pick a spot.
Enjoy the nanny state…and the taxes…and the shitty “affordable” healthcare…and the funemployment…and don’t let the door hit ya in the ass on your way out.
Comment by Pablo on 11/10 @ 2:08 pm #
Marriage is not freedom. Trust me on that one.
Comment by Bilwick1 on 11/10 @ 2:09 pm #
The oddly-monickered “the truth” (who, if he were true to his name, would change his alias to “the party line”) apparently sees a free society as one in which “everyone can afford health care.” Odd. A free society, being prosperous, would undoubtedly include that; but since “

Squid #19: I’m sure the faculty is in contact with a paroled abortion clinic bomber as we speak.
FOR THE ACADEMIC FREEDOMS!

The logic, while twisted, isn’t at all hard to comprehend. As for whether any faith can justify his acts, all indications are that Hasan’s faith did exactly that.
At least He managed to refrain from pointing out how awesome He is.
Comment by Pablo on 11/10 @ 2:16 pm #
They should get someone really heinous like Tancredo, Coulter or David Horowitz. That always draws a crowd.
Comment by Pablo on 11/10 @ 2:18 pm #
There’s just no figuring it out. It’s like a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.
Comment by Rick on 11/10 @ 2:29 pm #
“It’s great to be in America where everyone agrees that women can seek safe and legal abortions, gay people can marry, and everyone can afford health care.”
It’s freedom if everyone agrees? Or else?
Cordially…
Comment by BJTexs on 11/10 @ 2:34 pm #
Pablo, I remember when students at Columbia were protesting appearances by Ann Coulter and The Minutemen founder because their appearance constituted “hate speech.”
One person’s hate speech is another person’s edgy commentary, I guess.
Comment by BJTexs on 11/10 @ 2:36 pm #
The Truth: So mandating that everyone has to buy health insurance and fining them or even jailing them if they don’t constitutes freedom?
To – May – toe — To – Mah – Toe.
Comment by Bilwick1 on 11/10 @ 2:40 pm #
My last post was interrupted but is “the truth” critizing us because we’re not pro-freedom enough? So he’s a libertarian then? Or is this just some Alinskyite BS mind-game, as i suspect?

5th Annual Colloquium on Social Change hosted by the UMass Amherst Libraries’ Department of Special Collections and University Archives
That title itself deserves violence … just on pure principle alone.
Comment by B Moe on 11/10 @ 5:25 pm #
Exactly what one would expect from an apostate.

I’m mildly curious how you can tell “slave shackles” from the “other” kind of shackles.
I’m mildly curious why (whichever troll it was) appears to think that only black people can be slaves.
It’s almost as if he/she/it thinks that blacks are inferior, and thus make natural slaves.
But we’re the ones who are racists. Yup.
There are plenty of slaves in China, North Korea, and Russia. I’m pretty sure that not many of those are black.
To find black slaves you have to go to the Arab/Muslim world.

Being a Nobel Prize winning Master of Diplomacy, he must have something up his sleeve.

I watched it live and at the time figured he was throwing me a sop of sorts, though I don’t depend on theological justifications for my sense of justice as such.
Comment by B Moe on 11/10 @ 5:51 pm #
I think that is what he was intending also, but it was a grievous insult to a hell of a lot of Muslims nonetheless. I personally could give a shit, but it does swing my judgment of his motivations away from devious and toward idiot.
Comment by sdferr on 11/10 @ 5:56 pm #
“…away from devious and toward idiot.”
That got a hearty belly laugh out of me, for which on a sad day my thanks B Moe.

Is that why the AMA has endorsed the House bill?
The AMA caqn’t force anybody to do anything.
(ppppst …an aborted zygot is not a baby, dipshit)
(psssst … it ain’t a giraff in there, dipshit)
Comment by Yackums on 11/11 @ 6:37 am #
Methinks “the truth”, like many lefties, has conflated and confused freedom with ease or comfort. Freedom isn’t about being taken care of. It’s about nobody interfering with your ability to take care of yourself the way you see fit. If people just want to be taken care of and not have any say in the matter, Europe is —-> that way.
Comment by SGT Ted on 11/11 @ 9:59 am #
The AMA endorsed it because they are getting cash from it, you dope.
