“Did the president’s team not realize what sort of image they were presenting to the country at this moment?” [George, NBCChicago]

Yes, they did. The presentation Obama gave was intentional, not accidental. It’s who he really is. We’ll see it again.

As for Hasan, it was criminal that the Army did not act sooner. I heard on NPR (after making some ridiculous PC statement that you can’t determine if religion was part of this) then report that Hasan gave a speech at a medical convention (the type where you describe a new technique or medication to fellow physicians) and proceeded to rant on how non believers in Islam would be decapitated in hell and have hot oil poured down their throats. A Muslim doctor in the audience tried to interrupt him and say his interpretation was flawed and was shouted down. The doctors in attendence were horrified by the display. And then Hasan did a similar rant on another public occasion. Talk about a warning sign.

Here is a writen summation of the NPR audio.

We have a doctor treating soldiers who thinks the wars they are fighting are evil and that non believers in Islam are going to burn forever in hell? Heads need to roll (not actually as Hasan would support but figuratively) for sure, because someone seriously screwed up not getting this mad man out of the Army sooner.

And next time Andrew Sullivan or Charles Johnson or some other idiot disparges Christians over something trivial, someone please slap them in the face and tell them to shut up. I am sorry, but Christians and Jews are not doing these sorts of crimes. Muslims are. There is something very wrong with Islam right now. I recognize it is a minority extremist faction of the religion, I am not blaming all Muslims. But Islam and Muslims have to deal with and stop this madness.

Hmm. My copy of “Rules for Radicals” has nothing on character, morals, or gentlemanly behavior. The ethics chapter seems to be missing as well. How very odd.

Thanks for that JimK. George W is such a humble, heartfelt American and he never made it about himself. The only time he uses the word “I” is when he follows it with “pray for the families” or “will do everything in my power to help”.

Conversely, listen to the use of “I” from the idiot Obama: I caution you to not jump to any conclusions - because you are stupid. Now, I’d like to leave you with a big applause line because I am Commander and Chief and there is no greater honor for you to hear me speak.

I quit swearing 4 months ago, but this tool is the biggest fucking asshole in the short history of this country. Hey toolbag! Stop the fucking conference and announce the murder of our troops. Give the news and get off. What the fuck!?!

    He is a self-awareness retard.

I miss the great man of character - George W Bush.

That was a little Lost Dog moment for you guys.

I blame his parents, or the lack thereof.

You can blame them Rusty but it seems like if they were solely to blame the argument would end up in an endless regression to absurdity. So Obama has to get some of the credit for making himself, if only for choosing poorly a few times, no?

Joe, all you really have to do, if you want to examine a particular religion (not adherent mind you) is look at the progenitor(s) of that particular faith. Muhammed? Rapist? Check. Murderer? Check. Separation of faith (personal) and politics? No, not at all and purposely synthesized it into an “all in one” way of life. Jesus Christ? Peaceful? Check. Not only didn’t advocate murder for the advancement of his faith, but called it morally wrong? Check. Separation of faith (personal) and politics? But of course. Jesus expressly advocated the separation of the two in a couple of scriptures, the most obvious being “render to Caesar what is Caesar’s”. Plus, the fact that during the Roman occupation of the holy land, he never advocated revolution from the Romans. He stayed out of it as that was the dominion of man and he was only concerned with the dominion of God.

Now, I know there are atheists who will go on blah blah blah about the spaghetti monster in the sky stuff. As a believer myself, I can definitely understand how an un-believer can call the mystical stuff goofy and I agree that it is certainly legitimately subject to ridicule (first amendment and all that). However, the differences between Muhammed and Jesus are so striking it’s obvious the moral relativist is being disingenuous at best. Point being? Charles Johnson, and his ilk, are lying through their rotting teeth or are morons. I’ll let them decide on which camp they belong.

By the way, this wasn’t meant to be a denunciation of all Muslims as many are obviously good human beings. But the truths surrounding the origins of both faiths, Christianity and Islam, are there to be measured. Whether you consider both, or one of, the progenitors of these faiths to be superstitious myths or historical facts is immaterial.
