Random linkage…(The Sanity Inspector)

So Marc Danziger rounds a corner and finds someone’s life in his hands…

Ex-pat blogger Roboseyo on good blogging habits.  Geared towards K-bloggers, but a lot of that stuff is good practice for anyone in the game.

Why the health care reform bill is like pre-Copernican epicycles.

Tony Woodlief bawls you out for using TV as a babysitter.  Sidebar:  I think that one of the unfortunate things about Jeff’s stalker episode from a few years back is that it firmly dissuaded him from doing any daddy-blogging.  If not for that creepess, he might have explored that genre, and could have been as good as Woodlief and Lileks.  *sigh*…

Afghan blogger Nasim Fekrat blogs his appearance at the Clinton Global Initiative conference in New York.

Donald Sensing wonders just what the effin’ eff Obama is up to, and concludes it’s millenarianism.

And your evening may well be complete, but not as complete as it will be once you hear how a New Zealand pol wants to phase out the underclass.

    Legislative Activity

And how could you not like H. Res. 554?

Hey! S.I. Thanks for the heads up on Roboseyo. That was a fun post and very interesting even though I didn’t know any of the blogs he was talking about. I assume The Marmot’s Hole is the Instapundit or PJ Media of Korea or something like that. Funny that it sort of means “Hello.” In the series “Arrested Development” the mother adopted a Korean kid because she thought it would look good on her social resume (years ahead of the Hollywood Express that ran over to Africa) and there was a similar thing about his name. It’s a little foggy now but I think his name sounded a little like “Hello” and every time someone answered a phone he thought he was being summoned. Anywahy that was fun and a quadrant of the Blogaxy that I never would have been aware of. Thanks.

Paying problem parents not to breed is a cheap way out of a lot of problems. I have zero problem paying such people to get voluntary sterilization.

Right after I wrote the comment above I noticed, off to the left, poems “Revised by the ghost of Richard Brauti.” I assume you menat Richard Brautigan but ran out of room. Thanks. Brought back a great memory. Brautigan wrote the funniest passage I have ever read in A Confederate General From Big Sur. It was the passage where they were out in the cabin in the desert with the 5 foot ceiling where the only way they could shut up the frogs in the pond at night was by yelling “Campbell’s Soup” at them. A very pleasant memory. I had forgotten.

And especially what Obama will do to avoid the findings.

This might be of scant interest to some.

My little conversation with a hater of the Left.

    Obamalet

That could just as easily have referred to the omelet you make after seizing private corporations breaking a few eggs.

    dicentra,

I clicked and really enjoyed your exchange with HannityHater. I did not read the whole thing, but please know that I’m being sincere when I tell you that you were awesome!!!

The reason I didn’t read the whole thing is that I like to stop reading when I see something that can’t possibly be beat:

    (paraphrased from memory)

    dicentra: you’re under 30

HH: I could kiss you. I’m over 50

    dicentra: you used young pics

    PRICELESS!

That’s nutshell Obama voter right there.

Your pre-Copernican epicycles link has some superfluous code in it and doesn’t go to a specific entry.* This looks like the one you want.

*That’s what happens when you still use Blogrolling, and that’s why I don’t.

Cumbersome and ill-underpinned though it was, the Ptolemaic system came a hell of a lot closer to explaining the celestial phenomena than ObamaCare will ever come to improving the quality while lowering the costs of health care in America. The one was a serious effort undermined by poor axioms, the other is an unserious effort overdetermined by an unserious ideology.

Thanks, McGehee. Fingers are faster than the eye…

    dicentra: you’re under 30

It’s amazing how often I assume that my lefty interlocutor is under 30. I don’t assume based on stereotype but on the quality of the arguments and the depth of their underlying assumptions.

It’s a phenomenon you see an awful lot — arrested adolescents pitching fits, demanding to know why the world doesn’t make sense, and figuring that a single entity is to blame.
