Starting the day with TMBG is nice. This is just plain funny.

    Aggrieved assertion monkey poo-flinging to begin in 5 … 4 … 3 …

Most of them will think its serious, I’m betting.

O/T – but I like to keep everyone informed about our loser state. did anyone (Geoff) mention yesterday what Granholm did? She slashed $51 million from 39 school districts (line item veto on budget) hoping to push Republican-controlled senate to give her tax increases. To “restore funding.”

The school districts have higher property tax rates, and were supposed to be “held harmless” when the state redistributed our money back to ‘em.

Nice, ’cause Jenny’s now promising Doctors if they accept a 3% tax on their business THEY will get the money back too.

You’d have to be a fool to believe anything a democrat tells you.

Carin – They expect the taxpayers to believe that the govt will take their money, and they pinkie-swear to return it?

  5. Comment by Carin on 10/21 @ 6:45 am #

    Double-pinkie swear!

They say that for every dollar the doctors are taxed, they will get THREE BACK!

    Doesn’t that sound wonderful?

Also, Granholm has said this isn’t really a tax. It’s an assessment.

Senate Republicans say (so far please please let them stick to their guns) that everything Jenny slashes is gone, baby, gone.

So, last week she win’s “Educator of the Year” and this week she decimates (at the eleventh hour w/o notice) the budgets of 39 schools.

I think it may be time to take to the lifeboats over there in the S.S. Michigan. I would invite many of you here to IL, but we have our own “D” heay State G’ment looking at every way to tax anything remotely connected with job creation, and the like. The laughter you hear is probably coming from Indiana, rubbing its hands with glee.

  8. Comment by JD on 10/21 @ 6:50 am #

If she can promise that rate of return, why is she not investing her monies, Carin? A financial advisor would rightfully run afoul of lots of laws and regulations for promising such BS.

It is nervous laughter, LtC John. Fortunately, we have Gov. Daniels.

Rush said it yesterday or the day before. Our entire nation is becoming Michigan.

    We are your future.

I mean, WE elected someone based on looks, smooth speech, and “image” before the nation did.

TX, baby. The best state to live in right now.

  13. Comment by B Moe on 10/21 @ 7:13 am #

It isn’t any better anywhere else, I am afraid.

The stupidity has reached critical mass on both sides.

  14. Comment by Carin on 10/21 @ 7:18 am #

B Moe, maybe they should produce a campaign video game or something. That would be superkewel.

What’s striking about this inside look at Obama is how being inside gets you nowhere. It is virtually the same as being outside. What’s also striking about this movie is its lack of arc. Obama is always golden, always going to win and always does.

All image .. all the time.

His fall from heaven is going to be ugly.

The Son of God video clip is excellent.

As TMBG’s tunes go this is not one of their better efforts. Pity.

BMoe-the commenters did get one thing right-Oxendine is a major douchetool.

Nonetheless, I live just off the Reagan and it is one of my favorite stretches of road.

Carin, I was in Detroit a couple weeks ago and was pretty amazed at what a broken down place it is for a once great city. My wife grew up there and told me of the bumper sticker “Detroit, will the last one out turn off the lights”

Anyone want to bet that nishit harrasses her B.O.B. while listening to this?

I denounce myself. Denounce and condemn. Must. Bleach. Mind’s. Eye.

It’s been that way for quite awhile now. Gas up near the airport and ride the rims until you get over the bridge.
Is it bad to say that? Even if it’s true?

Heresy. “Kiss Me” is the little coda to their epic second album “Lincoln” from 1988 (dude, that’s 21 years ago! Unbelievable.). It’s the nice, creamy dessert that follows a delicious meal.

I would be remiss, as PW’s resident indie/alt music devotee, if I did not mention that TMBG have just released their 4th kid’s record, this time with catchy TMBG songs about Science. It’s called “Science.” They did “Meet the Elements” on Fallon last week and rocked it.

Heresy? That’s a term taken from theology if I don’t miss my guess. What we got here is music, so let’s just say de gustibus non disputandum est. I do like an awful lot of their stuff though, just to say.
