Sounds like the lefties are trying to discredit Rush any way they can. And it reeks of desperation, frankly. Pulling a “Dan Rather”, I mean, even though this particular smear doesn’t make use of forged documents.
Why so desperate? Well, if Rush succeeds in buying a major league football team, he has a serious in-road to pop culture. Plus, he’ll be identified as a successful businessman in a way many people can relate to. Granted, he’s already successful, but being the owner of an NFL makes one stand out.
And the lefties can’t have Rush look anything remotely like successful, can they? That would tend to blow their propaganda out of the water.
So, this smear campaign works two ways. If Rush loses the bid, the lefties can claim “victory” (even if Obama won’t) that the “revolutionary truth” rules. If Rush wins the bid, they set the groundwork to continue with the denigration, a la’ Sarah Palin.

Rush is a master of the articulate spoken voice, using nuanced sarcasm and satire. Such a style flies over the heads of those who hear only what they want to hear.
Would you expect, say, happyfeet’s mugger to appreciate and understand Jeff G’s writings? The same sort of people, a majority unfortunately, make up the Democrat base. They only hear what they are given to hear.
As for Charles Johnson, he’s lower than a pimple on Dan Rather’s ass. They’re both in the same fight club now, but Johnson’s task is the washing of the jock straps.

I remember when Charles Johnson’s blog was good reading…about the last time the Rams won a football game probably. I haven’t been there in months. Dare to disagree with him or one of his ass-kissing sycophants and you’re banned immediately. It’s more of a tear other people down so you can feel better about yourself thing. The argument about Christians I’m most sympathetic to is maybe they could be more cautious about *how* they assert their values … not whether they should, though… e.g. don’t get too enthusiastic about taking over the school board and Jesus-ing up the curriculum. That’s not productive I don’t think. But how Charles asserts his values is every bit as not helpful – as his slander of Mr. Limbaugh demonstrates and how his weird neurotic banning of dissent demonstrates.

The Alinsky-like (but not his, exactly) strategy at work here works better if Rush isn’t a racist. If he were, or could reasonably be claimed to be, and the charge were aired, sides re: Rush is/n’t a racist would form unpredictably, based on idiosyncratic evidential weightings etc.
But since he’s not, or not really, and you have to will yourself to believe he is, or to lie and say he is, or just obey and carry it, who’s going to side with whom is pre-known with almost perfect certainty.
Having evidence on your side when the other side has none but the fact that it’s a side is a massive disadvantage. Pointing to another fact, whatever it is, is only an assertion of who you are and who sent you: the other guys.
There is no effective counter-strategy.

AFAIK, CJ “disassociated” himself from PJM a couple of years ago and after CJ decided to attack Malking and Hot Air and Powerline and then PJM itself (CJ called VodkaPundit a ‘white supremacist’ heh) PJM “demoted” CJ in their “about” history.

i mean seriously, just from a logical point of view, how do you prove a person never said something. Last time i checked i didn’t have a court reporter following me, taking down my every word, so how do i prove i didn’t say something? The only proof that can be offered is Rush saying, more or less, “bullshit. i never said that.”
That is why if you assert a person said X, the burden of proof is on the accuser, not the accused. Sheesh.

CJ’s rapid and 180 degree turn brings to mind either that it is not the original that is in charge now or he has succumbed to a cerebral event induced either chemically, genetically or is age-related. As Darleen said, a 5150 might actually be in his best interests. I have posted before to others that seem to be geographically nearby that if anyone knows cj’s relatives or involved people, they should urge them to intervene and have him undergo tests to determine if there is a physical/psychological explanation for his extreme personality change.
In other words: HE NEEDS TO HAVE HIS HEAD EXAMINED!
