Double down [Darleen Click]

Nancy Pelosi, after smearing those who dissent from Obama’s policies as “Nazis”, declares [NOW! With more and improved TEARS!] she’s afraid because dissent = violence. CURB YOURSELF! (just shut up)

Ahmadinejad is clearly impressed by Obama’s recent foreign policy efforts.

Ahmadinejad has raised the stakes against Israel by describing the Holocaust as a lie, just as world powers are trying to decide how to deal with the nuclear ambitions of an Iran in political turmoil.

“The pretext (Holocaust) for the creation of the Zionist regime (Israel) is false … It is a lie based on an unprovable and mythical claim,” he told worshippers at Tehran University at the end of an annual anti-Israel “Qods (Jerusalem) Day” rally. [...]

“This regime (Israel) will not last long. Do not tie your fate to it … This regime has no future. Its life has come to an end.”

Joe Biden isn’t worried.

Ted Kennedy’s corpse still running Massachusetts.

ACORNs keep turning up in all sorts of [Obama] places.

Don’t forget Darleen that Obama wants to make sure all illegals become legal so they can get health care too. Win Win!

Here’s David Brooks playing both sides of the fence. Yeah the article is about how the political divide is about policy not race. I agree with that.

But note how he describes how running on 9/12 he ran past “tens of thousands” of protestors. That is a “little” bone to his liberal pals at the Times, rather than growing a set and saying whether the numbers were tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands (and very possibly well over 1,000,000).

Pelosi turning on the water-works was about the phoniest thing I’d seen in a while…

And talking about the violence in San Francisco in the 70’s, while getting the vapors!

I’ll remind her that it was mostly her side, then and now, whose forst choice seems to be to resort to violence and intimidation…

Channel flipping last night, I caught a moment of David Gergen on Anderson Cooper’s show. Gergen was holding forth on vicious cartoons of Abe Lincoln he’d seen at the Lincoln Library, depicting Lincoln as the furious ape, baboon, etc. Gergen concluded his observations with: “You know what became of Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre.”

Former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani — who is a behind-the-scenes supporter of Mousavi — made an appearance at one Quds Day march, as would be expected from him as a senior cleric in the leadership. For the past 25 years, Rafsanjani traditionally has delivered the Friday prayer sermon on Quds Day, but he was barred from doing so this year and replaced by a hard-line supporter of Ahmadinejad, Ahmad Khatami.

So, the last 8 years under Bush and the litany of “angry”, not too mention boorish, immature, sophomoric and dishonest things said about him by not only media types, but extremely high level democratic politicians (including ex-presidents) never happened. Time has reached Newsweek depths indeed.

That is fairly incoherent. Who on “the American Right” has thrown the Iraqis or the Afghans “under the bus”? Is ure seem to remember spending some quality time with a hundred thousand or so of my closest friends in Iraq making sure the exact opposite was true. Only people I know who don’t even care if the Iraqis or Afghans get a genocidal comeuppance reside on the NYT editorial board.

Obergruppenkommander Charles Speaks: Hot Air Racist, Fascist; Must Be Purged
Apparently CJ’s moderator Kilgore Trout went over there last night and started posting racist stuff. To see, he said, if it would be cleaned up.

It wasn’t. Because both Allah and Ed were asleep. It being the middle of the night.

Actually, it’s only arguably racist if you yourself believe that wookies = black people, which Kilgore Trout does.

So he spammed the threads with this, and it wasn’t cleaned up to until the AM.

    I. Kristol in 2003: “Barring extraordinary events, the United States will always feel obliged to defend, if possible, a democratic nation under attack from nondemocratic forces, external or internal. That is why it was in our national interest to come to the defense of France and Britain in World War II. That is why we feel it necessary to defend Israel today, when its survival is threatened. No complicated geopolitical calculations of national interest are necessary.”

Looking at the US’s stance today toward the democratic opposition in Iran, the beleaguered Gov of Honduras, the State of Israel, the abandonment of our Eastern European allies and with them the rising democracies of Russia’s near-abroad we would have to say, he couldn’t have been further wrong. All it took was the election of an empty-headed dweeb from Chicago, surely not one of the sort of “extraordinary events” he had in mind.

via best of the web jimmah “racist” carter 1976:

“The furor began when Carter was asked in Indianapolis to explain his recent statement that there was “nothing wrong with ethnic purity being maintained” in neighborhoods. Carter replied that he wholeheartedly supports open-housing laws that make it a crime to refuse to sell or rent a house or apartment on the grounds of race, color or creed. But he opposes Government programs “to inject black families into a white neighborhood just to create some sort of integration.” Said he: “I have nothing against a community that is made up of people who are Polish, or who are Czechoslovakians, or who are French Canadians or who are blacks trying to maintain the ethnic purity of their neighborhoods. This is a natural inclination.”

    95. I love Echo and the Bunnymen!
I’ve just been lurking awhile and I have to say that if snowcone isn’t a deliberate attempt at parody then it definitely ranks up there among some of the stupidest people I’ve ever seen post on the internet. What a raving idiot. Makes thor seem well-informed and cordial.

Bring on the jumping sharks, where ever they may roam…

That is Snowy – and all of its iterations. It ain’t a moron, it is a sociopath that loves to find jumping sharks – the more outlandish the better.

Here’s a wonderful resource for those of you so inclined, the totality of the Public Interest, 1965-2005 cataloged by Author or by Issue. h/t Chicago Boyz

” Makes thor seem well-informed and cordial.”

I’m now convinced that hammer-boi is actually clinically insnae.

SPC Jack Klompus, do you remember alphie/actus/monkeyboy/dumbfucknutidioticlimpdickedloser? They’re all snotnose. Pity it. That person is damaged goods and it knows it.

And no, N. O’Brain, I disagree. He’s an asshole of the highest order and may indeed suffer some bi-polar issues, but clinically insane? I don’t think so. That’s alphie.

The funny is that snocone thinks he’s a wit.

  105. Comment by JD on 9/18 @ 7:23 pm #

Balloon fences, mile high dirt berms, and the Chinese invading by way of cargo containers are still classics.

  106. Comment by Mikey NTH on 9/18 @ 7:28 pm #

A twit that thinks its a wit.

For ‘Wanda’ read ‘any moderately sentient life form’; for ‘Otto’ read Snowy in all of his iterations:

Otto West: Don’t call me stupid.
Wanda: Oh, right! To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people! I’ve known sheep that could outwit you. I’ve worn dresses with higher IQs. But you think you’re an intellectual, don’t you, ape?
Otto West: Apes don’t read philosophy.
Wanda: Yes they do, Otto. They just don’t understand it. Now let me correct you on a couple of things, OK? Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not “Every man for himself.” And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked them up.

cynn – We are shooting for capturing the shifting moods of boxed wine drinkers first.

These sharks that are jumping, do they have lasers mounted on their heads?

  109. Comment by cynn on 9/18 @ 8:29 pm #

Fuck you gloriously and without end JD. May your golf clubs melt into a pile in your Prius.

  110. Comment by JD on 9/18 @ 8:32 pm #

I think I would need a picture of you before I would agree to that, cynn. My eyes are burning just from reading you associating me with a Prius. Good ALlah. Have you no soul?

  111. Comment by Mikey NTH on 9/18 @ 8:49 pm #

After the ACORN threads, JD, the answer is no. The soul died or was sold.

One can hold out hope, Mikey.

  113. Comment by Mikey NTH on 9/18 @ 8:51 pm #

JD – I don’t know about lasers, but these sharks, they do dance. Swing, I think.

Golf clubs? I have to confess I own a set of those, but I have never in my life played a game of golf. I inherited the clubs. The big ones come in handy for the clubbing of the baby harp seals. While the little ones I sometimes hurl at squirrels or smash their little acorns.
    What’s a Prius?

You might check how long I’ve been doing it, cynn. I’d like more traffic, as anybody would, but the growth rate isn’t bad for a newbie.

Nice. How does it feel to be a mindless water carrier for a bunch of cowards who need to manufacture narratives about their opposition because they can’t handle disagreement?

Here’s a novel approach to any potential Israeli aerial attack on Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities that might pass into Iraqi airspace from Zbigniew Brezinski (or at least one that hadn’t occurred to me to contemplate heretofore). Shoot them down! Defend the Iranian’s! Brilliant Zbig! That’s why you’re the man! :

DB: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in America’s worst interest?

Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?

DB: What if they fly over anyway?

Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.
