Normally I’d agree that Wilson’s remark was outside the bounds of courtesy. But, considering Obama is calling anyone who disagrees with his policy proposals, or illuminates an inconvenient truth about those same would be policies, a liar too, then he deserves it…
Also, he went beyond the pale lying about the plan being “deficit neutral”, the medicare cuts coming from “waste elimination”, and illegal aliens not being eligible for Obamacare…
He’s lucky that 300 killion people didn’t scream “liar” in unison…

Grassley’s amendment to make the bill not subsidize abortion was voted down by the Democrats along party lines, despite the clear demonstration that existing law would not necessarily prevent it.

Regarding the claim that Obama lied about coverage of illegal aliens, the Democrats have repeatedly refused to include language in the bill to require strong proof of citizenship prior to obtaining insurance. In other words, illegals will easily be able to obtain insurance illegally, which means that Obama and the Democrat liberals will obtain the desired end by refusing to make the law enforceable regarding illegal aliens.

And again, there’s no mechanism for verifying citizenship: Democrats keep stripping it from the bill. And again, if we could rely on laws with regards to illegal aliens, they wouldn’t be here to be begin with.

There’s nothing in the bill to prevent illegal aliens from being covered, and the Democrats shot down an amendment to do so. So unless an illegal alien is wearing a notarized legal document attesting to the fact that he is an illegal alien, he gets covered.

You are stuck with only half a concept. There is nothing inherently wrong with a President trying to “help people.” There is, in fact, nothing inherently wrong with examining reform of health care in this country.
The problem is that you are stuck in the “ends” when the grownups are closely examining the “means.”
This Health Care Reform is wrong headed in so many ways as to lose count. It’s way too expensive, will not reduce costs, lacks other mechanisms that might reduce costs (tort reform!) and penalizes the majority of people who are pretty satisfied with their own health coverage as well as forcing those who choose not to carry insurance to pay penalties because their personal choice “imposes costs” on everybody else. Oh and it’s too damned expensive!
It’s fine to frolic with the unicorns but those little horn headed beasts will not be constructing the bureaucracy or managing the ginormous deficits. Clear thinking adults are required to perform those tasks … or reject the concept on its (lack of) merits and offer something else.
